Triple H and Shawn Michaels still annoy me

Coco

Mid-Card Championship Winner
On his best opponents.

HHH: For me, from my singles career, would probably be Rock and obviously Shawn. Between there I had a lot of hodge-podge guys, which weren't really what you'd call classics. The Goldbergs and guys like that.
They were only hodge-podge because he wanted to carry the belt forever during that time and admit to nobody that he was shrinking business.

On Goldberg.

HBK: To me, he's not even in the ball park. Not because he's not talented, but greatness doesn't happen in a few years. Greatness is established over a long period of time. We try to promote people and get them over, but you can't do it that quickly.
Shawn shouldn't resent people who can make money if he's as concerned for the business as he pretends to be.

Barf.

I'd agree with HBK if Goldberg didnt disprove the thing he was saying. & HHH - anything he says doesnt surprise me anymore.

Wasn't Austin's greatness established in short period of time?

HHH and HBK had one great match at Summerslam. The rest were mediocre to awful.

1. Who the hell would call Goldberg Triple H's best opponent? Anyone that does is a fucking moron, simple as that. They barely had a rivalry.
2. HBK is entitled to his opinion. We are just as entitled to disagree with them. And he does make a point about Goldberg, being that his wrestling career was what, 4 years then 1? 5 total years in the business? Yes, he was mega-super-over for 3 of them, but that's still flash-in-the-pan. Greatness does happen over time. Goldy got his "greatness" quick. And 4 years later he faded into obsurity making horrible movies playing an evil Santa Claus.

1) Best feud? No. But plenty of the guys he worked during that period weren't hodge-podge. He's way off base.

2) He's entitled to his opinion, but he's more than wrong. The business is about making money. Goldberg generated more interest and made more money than HBK ever did. That's all there is to it. I suppose The Rock isn't HOF worthy either.

Hunter does raise a good point of longevity but really, even if I'm not the biggest Goldberg fan, I know he did draw more people to pro-wresting as a whole.

And why is it that almost everything pisses you off Coco?

When HHH talks about hodge-podge guys, am I the only one who see's this as a possible shot at Austin? I don't think it was directly meant for Austin, but he obviously lumped him in with the Bubba Ray's and Scott Steiner's of the world. HHH is an asshole, everyone knows this. I don't care how talented he is, he's a dick (and yes, he's very talented).

HBK should realize one thing; at the height of Goldberg's popularity, he was at least equally as popular as Shawn ever was, maybe even more so. Does that mean Goldberg was better, or had a better overall career? Of course not. But Goldberg was a HUGE draw, even if was only for a short period of time.
