Tri-Top: Wrestling Theme Songs

Mr. TM

Throwing a tantrum
This is where we bring the Music Section and the Wrestling section closer together. What are the three greatest Wrestling Theme Songs.

1. NWO Theme Song

When this theme hit, you knew what was up. And that was THE NWO. As they were taking over the place. The screechy guitar, the overvoice, everything commanded repect and attention.

2. NWO Wolfpac Theme Song

So the NWO dominated the theme, but what if there was a thug version. This is it. Starting off with that bone chilling howl, and the threats of death for gonig against them. This is how a theme should be.

3. NWO Vood Child Theme Song

Voodoo Child Redux. It sounds like propoganda, but in reality, it is the truth. If you are not with the NWO, you are against it. And you are standing up against a mountain.

Man there are so many great theme songs, but I'm going to go with my favourites:

3.

A great theme song. It really fit the character of Mr. Perfect. I haven't met anyone who didn't love this theme and I don't think I will.

2.

I'm a Canadian and I still love this theme song so that just shows how good it is. I don't think there is another theme that caused more mark outs moments than this one. Guaranteed if this song came on during RAW/Smackdown/ECW today, the arenas would collapse from the massive pop.

1.

This is my personal favourite theme song. I know that nobody else will have this as number one, but I do. Every time this song plays I mark out and that doesn't happen for anyone else. I just get amped up when it plays and I follow in with his taunts and everything. Kofi Kingston is awesome and it helps that he has the best theme song.

Jake the Snake's Heel Theme. I always found the "Trust me..." thing at the beginning to be really creepy, in a good way.

Yeah, I know the original version of the song is better but I loved this entrance music. I used to mark right the hell out every time I heard that baseline start. I miss Justin.

I've just always been a total fanboy for these guys. Seems like I might be the only one around here that's actually happy about the prospect of their return. PG era or not, I just love DX.

1. Mr. McMahon

I'm not a fan of Rap-Rock but there's just something about this song. Everytime his theme hits the crowd pops 'cause you know something interesting is about to happen. We've seen Vinnie Mac strut down the aisle to this theme countless times but there's just always something special about it.

2. Stone Cold's Disturbed Theme

This is just an awesome song. It took Austin's already memorable theme and created something even more intense.

3.Goldust

Such a creepy song and certainly one of the most memorable of all-time. Fits the character perfectly.

1.Chris jericho

.

I just love this song. It has something special.

2.Jeff hardy(original)

.

Along with the next, this just pumps u up!

3.Hulk hogan

.

Read above!

My all time favs of course were Hogan and Macho, but these are some of my other favorites. I like old school music, much more exciting and original.

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/mqvnkyjsD3I&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/mqvnkyjsD3I&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

This song is so corny, yet so catchy. I liked it after hearing it on the old ppvs and stuff.

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/R8FSXERAJQM&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/R8FSXERAJQM&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Yes, another classic. I remember Slick and Akeem The African dream Rolling down dancing to this music at Wrestlemania 6.

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/4aS1Xfb6ckE&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/4aS1Xfb6ckE&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

My favorite tag team, such a great, hard hitting theme. This was the "ass-kicking" theme before Austin.

In no particular order of course.

1) X-Pac

Such a classic theme, and really brought the Attitude. The song just had that raw no-good punk kind of feel to it, and really defined everything that era was all about. Chris Warren really did produce the best themes back then.

2) DX

Seriously, do I even need to explain? I honestly think part of the reason DX became so huge was because of their theme song, seriously. This is why DX was so beloved; NWO may have done the tweener-stable-rebel thing first, but DX perfected it and this theme song really gave you that feeling that these guys were new, they were hardcore, and they didn't give a fuck what you thought.

3) Triple H "My Time" theme

Definitely the best theme Triple H ever had in my opinion, and what a shocker, it's performed by Chris Warren yet again! He really did produce some classic themes. Seriously, I could bump this song going down the street and just feel badass. Great fuckin' song, let alone theme.

Some honorable mentions go to Sandman's "Enter Sandman" theme which isn't on YouTube because Metallica are a bunch of fucking dicks, the nWo Wolfpac theme, a bunch of others I'm probably forgetting.

Chris Warren's themes > All

I decided to go with themse that may not be the best, but themes that make me just mark the fuck out!

1) Eye of the Hurricane...to hear the STAND BACK THERE'S A HURRICANE COMING THROUGH the lights to go and then the ratehr generic superhero music just makes me mark out to this day. A brilliant mix!

2)Rule Britannia....A must for any Brit, rule britannia...to hear that music made us want the guy to win, we got behind him no matter whether he was heel or face...he was huge in the UK...Regal take note!

3) Random sirens...RTC love them or hate them, likely hate them...this theme got one hell of a reaction

1. As pointed out by several people in my Maven thread, this theme was probably the best thing about him. An excellent intro which the crowd popped for and helped get the Tough Enough winner over:

2. Music I always popped for, whether he was a face or heel. Plus the fans chanted along eith the music, like Sandman and Goldberg (though less piped than Goldberg's chants). I wasn't such a fan of the ECW remix:

3. A theme which suits The Animal quite well, psticularly after he broke away from Evolution. It also makes a fairly good ringtone:

Honorable mentions go to Enter Sandman, and Austin's Disturbed theme, as well as One of a Kind and Walk (RVD's themes).

3. Bret Hart

This is a perfect theme. It's recognizable the moment you hear it, and it just starts off great. It has amazing guitar playing throughout, and fit Bret Hart very well.

2. Chris Benoit

Another high intensity theme, this one kicks off great too. The lyrics are perfect to describe Benoit: "There's no holding me back.." and "I'm not driven by fear, I'm just driven by anger.." I'm in love with this theme. I would gladly play it in my head over and over continuously for the rest of my life.

1. Goldberg

Goldberg's theme starts at 2:18. I love Goldberg's theme. What makes this number one for me, is the entire package. I love the sparks falling down on Goldberg, the crowd chanting his name, and the walk to the ring from his locker room. It's perfectly done.

It was really difficult to narrow this down to just 3! There have been so many great theme songs over the past 25 years. Anyway, here are mine in no specific order:

Demolition

The song was bad ass, the team ring attire was bad ass, the face paint was bad ass...you get the picture? From the minute the music hit, I wanted to see these guys beat someone up.

Fabulous Freebirds

Yeah, they made an actual music video for this one. I am still in love with it! You gotta love the Freebirds and Michael Hayes was one flambouyant dude who wasn't afraid to get crazy. What a great song.

Edge

I actually have this song on my ipod and numerous mix CD's. It makes me want to get up and do something. A great motivating song.

3. Just a badass theme. Ithought this was Taker at his best
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/GcG4ImuXrUU&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/GcG4ImuXrUU&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

2. I always thought this was a good theme, the slow build up with shots of LA into the main theme was awesome.
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Il7T2P5drTg&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Il7T2P5drTg&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

3. This was just intense, I could listen to this to pump myself up to go batshit on someone.
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/PvG6EtdWRfg&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/PvG6EtdWRfg&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

And for no apparent reason...
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ahRw8ooCHx4&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ahRw8ooCHx4&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

I think Mankinds original WWE theme was so fitting of the character, possibly the creepiest sounding theme ever. He even had different music when he won - a slow, peacefull piano theme.

I also really liked Undertaker's Ministry theme, the one with "Accept the Lord of Darkness as your Savior" at the start. Also RVD coming out to Pantera's "Walk" in ECW was increadable.
