What the title says, name your top 5 television shows and also give a little description about what it is incase people (johnny foreigners) haven't heard/seen it. You cannot include wrestling shows e.g. WWE, TNA, etc.

1. Soccer AM - This show is the bollocks. A 3 hour show on a Saturday morning with a mixture of sport, (mainly football) comedy and music. It was presented by Tim 'loser' Lovejoy and Helen 'Hells Bells' Chamberlain but for the next series Andy Goldstein will replace Lovejoy as he has quit. Aswell as showing clips of last weeks results/action, the show also has many comedic skits, usually played by the crewmembers. Celebrity guests and fans are welcomed onto the orange sofas and the Luther Blissett stand respectively. This show also has had a number of spin-offs and got 'bouncebackability' in the dictionary.

2. The Friday Night Project - It is on Friday nights (weird huh), and it is presented by Justin Lee Collins and Alan Carr, with a different guest host and band every week. In recent weeks a number of exclusives have been told by celebs, including the reuniting of the Spice Girls and the fact that Lily Allen has a 3rd nipple.

3. The Bill - A police soap/drama set in fictional London borough Sun Hill. Every week new people are arrested and killed, officers included. It has been on our screens for over 20 years with the characters normally played by ex/failed soap stars.

4. Big Brother - A reality show which brings a bunch of jobless ****s into a house under 24 hour CCTV for upto 13 weeks. Highlights are shown of the day before with voiceovers coming from geordie prick. Davina McCall hosts interviews with evicted housemates and Dermot O'Leary hosts a spin-off. Another spin-off show is currently being hosted by different celebrities after regular host Russell Brand quit.

5. Only Fools And Horses - I know they are only repeats but whenever they are on tv I can't stop laughing. A comedy show set in Peckham, London. The main characters are two brothers, Del and Rodney. With their bunch of idiotic mates, espicially Trigger, this show has been voted best comedy show ever.

Prison Break - IMO one the greatest shows i've ever seen. I've been hooked on it since day one. Terrific acting, amazing storylines and the set and scenes are just great. My favourite show ever.

Beavis and Butthead - What can i say? I'm a 90's girl and this show reminds me of everything 90's.

Married With Children - Best sitcom ever. It was so funny! Al Bundy is a god. And Christina Applegate was soo hot as Kelly Bundy.

South Park - Lets just say Family Guy has nothing on South Park. South Park does shit no other show would dare to do and they get away with it. Cartman > Stewie.

Toss between Malcolm In the Middle and Queer Eye for my last pick, i like them both equally.

Desperate Housewives - i cant live without this show i mean where have you seen a woman who is perfect, a woman who has an affair with an underage gardener, a super mom, a ****e and a stupid mom????.but this show is getting stale (just like cena) and its getting boring but it's still my favorite show

grey's anatomy - i think that this show has so many things to offer but it only focuses on meredith and dereck that is the only thing that i dont like this show

the sopranos - i used to love this show but the series finale made me hate it
because i cant understand it and when i saw it i was like that is the greatest finale i've ever seen??? i don't think so

the simpson - this show is still great and i like homer marge bart lisa and maggie it shows that this serie is stil inovative in their 19 season

ghost whisperer and bones are in a tie for the fift place

1. The Simpsons -
This is here merely for every episode from Season 2 to Season 9, as it has been nothing but unadulterated shit since. Messy story structures, messy, gag-like humour, and some of the stupidest storylines known to man. This obviously carried over into the movie - a giant bubble!? What the fuck!?

2. The Sopranos -
Not very popular in England but a fantastic series nonetheless. Surprisingly funny too, which I'm sure is intentional in places. But it can also make you feel so overwhelmed by the life that Tony Soprano and those close to him live.

3. Peep Show -
The recent fourth series felt a bit messy, but this is one of the greatest comedies I have ever seen. How you can see into the characters thoughts is awesome, especially when you realise how realistic they really are.

4. South Park -
I think this may have gone downhill in recent years, but then again, it could have merely evolved with the times, unlike the Simpsons sad attempt. Still hilariously funny, and a show with real balls. Each episode becomes the stuff of legend on the internet.

5. The Office -
An unexpected hit, this show is hilarious at times, but mostly it'll make you cringe more than watching old lady porn in HD. Absolute genius. Shame the American series was so shit, and that Extras was so hypocritical when it came to stupid humour.

1)Transformers: No surprise here, This show was the first cartoon I remember seeing, and loving as a kid. I still do. The action, the story, the characters, this show had it all.

2)Spawn: My favorite single Comic character, and this was the best show that could have happened for him. It was on HBO, it had the darkness, the profanity, and oddly the voice that captures him. Even now, I always think of Peter David when I look at spawn.

3)X-men: Animated series--This show was A LOT more accurate than ANY portrayal of the x-men. It had many, many cameos, they did many of the sagas right and this helped make X-men a household name

4)Dragonball z---I will admit, I have only been a DBZ fan for about 3-4 years. ANd I must say, its an amazing show. Gohan is my favorite character and he should have been the main character. If you havent seen it, Check this show out.

5)House: House is hilarious, I got turned on to this show from my gf. The medical aspect is great, but the charisma that he has makes the show.

#5 > Drake & Josh
I don't honestly know why I would rank this in my top five television shows... but unfortunately, I do. As silly as the humour is, it's a guilty pleasure of mine.

#4 > Iryu: Team Medical Dragon
Not the first J-Drama [Japanese Drama] that'll be on my list. Follows the story of a world class surgeon who re-enters the medical profession in a Japanese University Hosptial. It is quite the endearing drama and you I did feel a connection to all of the main cast. If you're weak like me, it can push you close to the edge...

#3 > Hanazakari no Kimitachie e
Another J-Drama... this one focusing on a girl who enrolls into an all-boys school so that she can follow her hero, a former high jumper known as Sano Izumi. It's full of silly humour that made me chuckle and touching moments that did make me feel for the characters. :[

#2 > Death Note
I've only seen about half of the series at the moment... but it has been pretty good throughout all of that time. I'm not always overly keen on any form of show where the story evolves into a see-saw battle of minds but in this case, I'm willing to make the exception. Follows the story of a youth who stumbles across a black notebook aptly called, a "Death Note". The manga does appear to be a little better than this anime, in my opinion. For those not really interested in anime, there are two live action movies. ;D

#1 > Kamen Rider [New Generation]
I haven't seen any of the old generation of Kamen Rider... but with the exception of Hibiki and Den-O, I have seen most of the new generation in full-swing. In Japan, it is considered a kids show; popped into their SUPERHERO HOUR on Sunday mornings. I don't know how long this Superhero Time has been going on for but it's been going on for long enough. [Just incase you're wondering, this show isn't an hour long. The hour is shared with Super Sentai.]

Personally, I find it to be a little more than what children in England would come to expect from a show. If you've ever seen Power Rangers, I would encourage you to watch the Japanese version; even if only for one episode. The differences are vast.

Prison Break - This is my favourite show ever,i love it,the actors are great, huge twists and its a great show.

Scrubs - I think it's hilarious,i love it,every episode is a funny one.

Punk'd - I like the celebrity reactions and some of the stuff they do is just priceless.

Seinfeld - This is a hilarious show and i have been a fan for ages, classic show, hilarious.

Becker - This show is Funny,i've been a fan for a long time.

DONE

1- It's always sunny in philadelphia: see above. Described as Seinfeld on crack. Whats not to love?

2- Southpark: Always good for a laugh. still a very smart show and with the Trilogy they just aired, still going strong.

3-Metalocalypse: Just getting into this but check it out on adult swim. Pretty cool animation, kick ass soundtrack. Buy the CD!

4- Family Guy: Ok, may have gotten lame recently but still funny and there's enough classic episodes being replayed all the time thats still good for a laugh.

5-Dexter: Showtime show about a Blood Splatter CSI expert who also happens to be Homicidal murderer who only kills bad people(Anti-hero). The duality of his character is great. Worth a watch.

1.) Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia: like the two above me I agree that its probably the funniest show on Tv and is very underrated

2.)Trailer Park Boys: have to live in Canada to see it I have some DVDs of it and its one of the most brilliant and hilarious shows of all time

3.) The Simpsons: almost every episode over all the years has been good and has so many rip offs on TV but theres still nothing like the original

4.)MXC: the old episodes were classic nothing like dubbed Japanese game show challenges, not too much of a fan of the newer episodes

5.) Girls Next Door: actually a decent show love the girls but the shows stay interesting regardless

Boy Meets World - Can anyone honestly say they didn't watch this show? Doesn't mean you have to like it, but everyone has saw it at least once. Yes, I am currently 18 and have outgrown this, but I will still rank it as one of the top 5 best.

Full House - Please read above. Also, who wouldn't bone DJ Tanner? Come on.

Biggest Loser - Nothing is better than watching obese people lose weight. If you had half a heart you would enjoy this show too. I'm not too emotional of a person, but towards the end of the show it can be a tear jerker.

The Joe Schmo Show - I don't know if anyone remembers this one ( the 2nd bombed ), but it was an instant classic show. It had all the elements to be a classic.

I suck because I only have 4. Ah-well.

Heroes- Its got some great characters in it. Some of the people I work with at umgd were talking about it so I started watching it this semester.
The Office- This show is too funny. I love the storylines.
Law & Order- I love crime/detective shows. I am always glued to the tv when this show's on.

Buffy - Hot girl having to grow up and experience life. Also has to kill demons and vampires

Supernatural - Hot guys having to grow up and experience life. Also have to kill demons and vampires.

Now if we could only mix the two :)

House - Best medical show, great cast and crew making a great show. Bit drama, bit comedy, bit detective show but all great

Simpsons - Family of 5 living in springfield experiencing extraordinary events.

Law and order svu - every single episode is brilliant and Meloni and Hargitay own the roles of stabler and banson respectively. Top notch drama

1.) Married With Children - Out of all of the seasons it was on, it never got dull boring or tiresome.
2.) The Sopranos - Great show, the characters really sucked you in. It almost made you forget Tony was the head of the New Jersey mob until he whacked somebody.
3.) House - 90% funny 10% drama, this show puts other medical shows like Grey's Anatomy & ER in it's place.
4.) South Park - Always funny, atleast 1 scene in every episode makes me laugh. They make fun of pop culture, because it needs to be made fun of. They tear it all to shreds. Cartman > Bart Simpson
5.) M*A*S*H - This show was on for a really long time...On longer than the whole Korean War. For it's entirety, the cast stayed pretty much the same with changes here & there. Some of the episodes were very funny. Others were just flat out tear jerkers. One of the greatest sitcoms of ALL time here.

1/ Friends - a funny show about people in new york finding out that they where either married to lesbians, failed actors, a massage therapist who tried to do naughty things to her clientel, and a woman who ran out on her husband, and ohh i almost forgot a fat chef

2/Scrubs: - like friends this show was geeky and funny at the same time, i hope it continues to shine there are rumours runing rampant that zac braff might be moving onto betterr things (noooooooooooooo)

3/ Married with children: - man that show never gets tiresome i love the quotes and the truth is it is alot like real life lol

4/ Buffy the vampire humper i mean slayer: - sarah michelle gella killing things and looking sexy oh joys!!

5/Boondocs: the funniest show around today i love it soo much i just cant wait for the next episode na mean!

This is my top 5 previously watched T.V. Shows, that are no longer around.

1. Buffy The Vampire Slayer: I became addicted to this show, thanks to a friend of mine. Although I never truly had a care, or passion for Sarah Michelle Gellar, I loved Willow, Cordy, Oz, Angel, Giles & Xander.. then later on Spike & Anya.

The thing that made me sad the most about this series, was when they killed off Tara. I loved watching Willow turn evil & get revenge, but felt so bad for her, that she lost her love.

2. Angel: The spin off that I truly fell in love with more than Buffy. I watched from beginning to end, & truly fell in love with Cordy's character - the way she developed into such a great overall character. Same with Wesley & Angel.

When it comes to favorite episodes, I'd have to say the one where Cordy returns, during the final season.. but it ended with her dying. Also, my worst show would be when Fred died, or became "Ilyeria" (sp?) I love that she became powerful, but hated that "Fred" died.

3. Two Guys & a Girl: They had a pizza place, before they couldn't afford to keep it, apparently. All that needs to be said, is this is where Ryan Reynolds got his start. I wonder if this will be released on a DVD set?

4. Brisco County Jr.: Bruce Campbell, the true star of B-show sitcoms/horror movies. This remains to be the ONLY western-ish show that I'll ever claim to like. (outside of the movie "American Outlaws") Honestly, I remember very little about this series.. & apparently the reason why, is because it only had one season. (28 shows)

5. Xena: This could've easily been tied with Hercules, which I started watching first. But I liked watching Xena far more, because of Renee' O' Connor. (Gabrielle) My favorite part, was involving Gabrielle getting pregnant & having a daughter.. plus Calisto as a "God."

First off, huge honorable mention goes to both The Simpsons & Freaks and Geeks. Especially Freaks & Geeks, honestly one of the greatest shows of all time. Judd Apatow's start was here and the acting, music, stories, and everything was just the best. The only show I've ever seen to actually depict a realistic portrait of kids in high school.

#5 - Aqua Teen Hunger Force
One of the funniest shows ever. An acquired humor, but god damn once you get into it you'll never stop laughing. Carl & Meatwad are by far the heroes of the 21st century. Even better at that random humor than Family Guy is.

#4 - South Park
What a classic series. What can be said that hasn't already? I really cannot remember ever seeing a bad episode of South Park, ever. I could watch this show til the end of my days and still find it hilarious. Partly because I grew up with it and have been watching since Episode 1.

#3 - Family Guy
Maybe its because I actually do live in Rhode Island (one of the episodes is all about making fun of my hometown, Newport) or maybe it's because I love that random humor, but this show is the best animated comedy I've ever seen. The things that the shows creators think of are just insane. Last week I saw an episode in which every time somebody saw Meg at the mall, they immediately doused themselves in gasolines and burned themselves alive because of her ugliness. WHO THINKS OF THAT?!

#2 - The Twilight Zone [Original]
Never was there a better written show. Ever. Rod Serling is such an insane genius, and even after 50 odd years, this show still can just creep me the fuck out, even when its an episode I've seen 40 times. There are just so many classics--To Serve Man, the Hitchhiker, the Living Doll, the creature on the wing of the plane, the boy who could control the world with his mind, I could go on and on and on with the great episodes. If you love intelligent writing, great suspense and awesome twists, get the old boxsets of this series. Make sure its the 60s version however, the later 80s & 2000's versions were terrible (well the 80s version had a few decent episodes).

And finally....Number 1....

#1 - The X-Files
Best show of all time. Hands down. Easily. Everything that you could ever want in a show, it has. CSI-type detective work? Got it. Sci-Fi? Got it. Great special effects and horror? Got it. Comedy? Got it. Action? Definately got it. Should I continue? I mean I can just watch these all day long and be satisfied with that day as not being a waste of time. Even if you saw it once when you were younger and didn't like it, give it a try sometime. I hated it when I was a little kid because I didn't get it, then I started watching it about a year ago, and have been totally hooked ever since. It WILL suck you in.

1) the simpsons- so american and the humor never quits. you never know what to expect next

2)House- i can't live without this show, i love the medical drama element but the way Hugh Laurie tells the jokes makes it hilarious.

3) Tom & Jerry- Yes, i know, a cartoon. but to me they are one of the best cartoons ever up with #1 the simpsons. Plus i think i have seen every single one of the cartoons.

4) Home Improvement- Tim Allen is plain out hillarious and i'm from Michigan watching a show taped in Michigan with them using a great actor Tim Allen who is from Michigan. All the power to Michigan!

and

5) Cops- I'm currently undecided on college but even though i'm probably going to major in enginering or something, i still would like to major in Criminal Justice. Plus this is one of only two all American shows that I have in my mind that show what America is really about. With the other show being... you guessed it, The Simpsons, Plus, following the REAL hero's that we have in the world isn't that bad for entertainment.

In no order:
Only Fools and Horses Very funny show about wheeler-dealer Del Boy his brother Rodney and their Grandad or later the Uncle. Absolutely hilarious stuff.
Seinfeld I've seen all the episodes but I can't stop watching them. The "show about nothing" was imo the greatest sitcom of all time.
Prison Break The whole guy gets sent to jail to break his brother out storyline was weird but had me hooked for the first season which was amazing. I thought the second season was still good but I have had no interest in the third season at all.
Knowing Me, Knowing You with Alan Partridge A spoof chat show hosted by Norwich's own Alan Partridge played by Steve Coogan. Side-splitting stuff. Coogan is a genius for creating Partridge.
The Day Today Another spoof this time of a TV news show complete with the overuse of high tech graphics for the opening and ludicrous news stories. Presented by the brilliant Chris Morris.

1. Scrubs - love the story even if the jokes are getting recycled a bit towards the end.

2. Family Guy - manages to make me laugh, time and time again.

3. Skins - Great British Teen Drama, makes the OC seem like Mickey Mouse

4. South Park - I hate the new series but the old ones are some of the best TV ever made.

5. Shameless - Again great British Drama.

1. Family Guy: My all time favourite show it has become so sucsessfull in a very short time and when I saw my very first episode I was hooked like a monkey to a bannana this show is simply perfect.

2. DragonBall Z: The best anime ever devised and written by man kind the story line is simple (A groupe of heroes fighting evil) with a twist this show is great, I havn't seen an episode since the last GT Ep and I would love to get back into the series.

3. Death Note: I was hooked on the first episode I really love this show it is such a great story line and it's quite mature in a way. I love the charectors in the anime people like L and Ryuk add some kind of freshness to the show.

4. Sinfield: I love this shw the charectors are so "Unique" for example Cramer and George arn't exactly the two people you'd hang out with Friday nights.

5. Super Natural: I expected so much from this and got so much. I really like the plots there not childish and stupid and there are surprising ammounts of humour

1. That 70's Show - when it comes to tv shows...this one takes the cake, there isn't one episode that I watch that I don't laugh

2. Family Guy - such offensive humor sometimes makes me want to watch this show, I could probably watch it 24 hours straight...lol

3. South Park - I constantly quote this show everyday "GOD DAMN MONGOWIANS! STOP BREAKING DOWN MY SHITTY WALL!" lmao

4. 8 Simple Rules - funny show that people can relate to...plus Bridgette is hot...which is always a plus lol

5. Kid Nation - idk why i loved this show so much lol I thought some of the kids were hilarious

Friends - Need I say more?

Scrubs - Set in a hospital. One of the funniest things I've ever watched. J.D. is the best character.

2 Pints of lager - A group of friends who are just so common it's funny. They come out with the most random things, but are really just normal people.

Seinfield - Shawn likes it.

Eastenders - I could watch soaps all day. They're addictive, and so unbelievable. My favourite os generally Eastenders, can't get enough of it - it's so dramatic!

Hollyoaks: I know it's cheese. But I love it. Bad acting, stupid opening titles, Baywatch style direction. It's brilliant. And they pass it off as teen stuff. Awesome.

The Sopranos:
This is the first show I've ever been upset about fiishing. There was still life left in it. It's not one of those shows you can dip into. You have to watch it all or nothing.

Steet Crime UK: It's like going out round town. But inside. I love watching people get in fights. I also love watching drunk people. It's brilliant.

Harry Hill's TV Burp:
He's the only comedian I really watch. I like how he isn't rude like a lot of them. He also take the piss which I identify with.

I don't watch much TV so I can't really pick a 5th. I like The X-Files until I went on a 9 season marathon. And The Simpsons is on so much I cant stand it anymore.

Eastenders - I could watch soaps all day. They're addictive, and so unbelievable. My favourite os generally Eastenders, can't get enough of it - it's so dramatic!

The only reason I watch Eastenders is because I want to fuck Chelsea.

FACT.

I don't really watch TV aside from wrestling and the Food Network, so I'll give my Top 5 of all time:

5.) My So Called Life - Anyone remember this? It only lasted 2 seasons, but it was sooooo good. No other show depicted teenage angst in 90's better than this. Claire Danes and Jared Leto were just awesome together.

4.) Cheers - What a funny show. I used to watch it with my parents when I was little. I liked it, but I was too young to really get it. Now I laugh out loud the entire episode if I watch re-runs. Brilliant comedy.

3.) Dawson's Creek - Teenagers fornicating. Students sleeping with their teachers. What a great show. Dawson's had the greatest cast of characters, all of whom had tremendous depth for a bunch of teenagers. I was addicted to this show when I was in college- it's just that good. And for the record, Joey should've ended up with Dawson in the end.

2.) Roseanne - Greatest comedy sitcom of all time. Blue collar humor at it's best. Roseanne Arnold and John Goodman have the most amazing on screen chemistry. The writing is phenomenal for this show. The jokes and one liners are completely crazy. Great show.

1.) The Wonder Years - Completely original and fresh when it came out. I loved the idea of following good ol' Kevin's life through story telling. I still cry to this day when I watch the last episode. This show had elements of comedy, drama, heartbreak and love. Definately my all time favorite.

Scrubs

Hilarious for the reasons mentioned. Great character interaction. My friend in med school says the show is the most accurate depiction of life in a hospital on TV - ER and Chicago Hope don't come close.

Friends

I got hooked long after the show went off the air via the DVD's. My fiancee made my buy the first season - I got the other 9 on my own accord. Perhaps the greatest character interaction comedy of all time. Anybody with a pulse became invested in these characters lives.

Darkwing Duck

The greatest superhero of all time. The terror that quacks in the night. Also featured Duck Tales characters such as Launchpad McQuack and Gizmo Duck. Always fun to see familiar faces. Anything from the old Disney Afternoon (also: Rescue Rangers, Tale Spin, etc) can make this list.

Iron Chef

Cooking at its most competitive. One hour to formulate and prepare 4-6 gourmet dishes all featuring one hitherto unknown ingredient - awesome. I see ingredients used at Kitchen Stadium that I never see anywhere else. And you can't beat the use of a blowtorch!

Tied for 5th - Perfect Strangers and Jeopardy

Jeopardy is the greatest game show ever, narrowly defeating Price is Right and Press Your Luck. I tried out for Jeopardy not long ago and narrowly missed being on.

Perfect Stangers was so ridiculous it was great. Balki Bartokomous and Cousin Larry Appleton. Also featured the two characters who would eventually spin off Family Matters - Carl and Harrient Winslow.
