Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No it's Supermod!
1-0 Toon, shove your clean sheet record up your arse Man U

Clean sheet record went against Blackburn. It was van der Sar's record that he still had, and his mistake led to the goal. Newcastle could have scored again there.

Oooh nice shot by Martins, hits the side netting :(

Carrick is getting lots of boos.

ah right, Newcastle are doing well for some reason, shocking free kick by Taylor there.

pah, Newcastle fail to sit back. Interesting.

What a game mind. End to end, not many games are like this anymore. Always count on these two to but on a spectacle.

I'm surprised how well we're doing, very back and forth...not like us at all.

Scores elsewhere;

WEDNESDAY'S GAMES
Blackburn 0-0 Everton 2000 GMT
Fulham 0-0 Hull 2000 GMT
Man City 1-0 Aston Villa 1945 GMT
Stoke 1-0 Bolton 1945 GMT
Tottenham 1-0 Middlesbrough 2000 GMT
Wigan 0-0 West Ham 1945 GMT

I thought Man United would have more of an eye on next week, with Inter and Liverpool to play, and you Geordies are always up for the big games, especially when you start well. But Man United have pretty much full strength team out, bar Giggs and Rafael, yet Newcastle are matching them.

I'm amazed at how much offensive work we're doing here.

wahey that's the toon defense I know...shocking.

See, this just proves teams should attack Man United more. Newcastle have taken the game to them, and are opening them up. Teams usually sit back, but always get broken down eventually, but see a 1-0 defeat as acceptable. Never seen the Man United defence so vulnerable.

According to bbc sport. Newcastle 51%-49% Man Utd possession
Both have six shots on target, newcastle three off, Man Utd one off
Man Utd ahead on corners 6-3

Exciting stuff, a very impressive opening by the Toon.

Taylor and Rio were lucky not to get sent off there.

Boro's return to form didn't last long then. Spurs are easily going to stay up, they showed on Sunday they're way too good to go down.
