Wrestlezone reporter here with results of another big show from TNA Impact. The Hogan/Bischoff era seems to be a distant memory as the young guns of TNA have taken the ball and not just ran with it, they have scored multiple times with big time rave reviews from the critics out there and they are backed up by triple the ratings the old TNA shows used to receive.
It is two weeks before their big Slammiversary ppv, which is their second biggest show of the year next to Bound For Glory and it showcases the King of the Mountain Match. I would have to say that ths is probably since the new direction started this would have to be the most promo driven show the company ahs done. However to set up a comapny's second biggest ppv, matches need to be announced.
After all the pyro we see standing in the ring is veteran commentator Mike Tenay who welcomes everyone to Impact. He talks about Slammiversary, and the history of the company and the KotM match. He then proudly wants to bring out to the ring the combatants for one of the most dangerous matches in the world. First is RVD... Rob walks out to a huge pop from the fans. Say what you like about him, but the fans still love this guy, he high fives his way out and jumps into the ring as the fans continue to go crazy. Tenay then intros the Pope, who also gets a huge response. Pope laps up the attention,as the camera catches a glimpse of RVDs face as he seems surprised that Pope got almost as big a reaction as him. Im sure Rob is still a bit peeved about losing to Pope last week, and how Pope out showboated him also.
Pope has a big smile for Rob when he enters the ring and he even counts to three on his fingers in Robs face, bragging about his pinfall victory over the Whole Dam Show last week. Big move from the Pope there. Tenay then brings out Shawn Hernandez, who is booed. The fans are in fine form tonight. The Mexican superman struts his way down the ramp and into the ring. He is oozing confidence and as he gets into the ring he smirks at both men, as he has beaten them both in recent months. Tenay has to inject himself a little, get in between these men as he wants to conduct an interview. The commentator then calls out Bobby Lashley, who is accompanied by his gorgeous wife Kristal. They enter the ring for the interview, however the Pope and Hernandez though want to get a better look at Kristal which causes some pushing and shoving. Its a powder keg in there and the fans are eating it up.
Tenay finally gets their attention and talks to them about the KotM match which neither of these men have ever been a part of, and how dangerous the match is. Tenay interviews each man to get their thoughts or strategies going into the what very well be a career shortening match. RVD as cocky as ever says that he is will do what he always does, and thats fly high... which gets huge reaction. He says that he is no stranger to a hardcore environment and no stranger to a ladder match. He says he is going to go into the match take everyone out and become the new World Heavyweight Champion, because he is Rob. Van. Dam.
DAngelo Dinero is next and he says that Robs got it all wrong, and that the Pope is the Cadillac of professional wrasslin and that he will be pimpslap his way to the top of the mountain and come down the World Champion because Pope is pimpin.
Hernandez snatches the mic off Tenay and says that he is gonna smoke all these fools and Border Toss them off the top of the ladder if he has to. No one will get in his way, and it is his time now, and at Slammiversary he will be the first ever Mexican TNA World Champion. Nada is impossible and viva the revolution.
Next is Lashley, he says that hes got to admit, that he isnt built for this sort of match. So his game plan will be to bulldoze every man in his way and then simply climb up the ladder and hang the belt, because he is here to be the best, he is here to be Champion. Tenay is about to thank each man, but he only gets a word out before the music of the Samoan Submission Machine hits!
The fans are on their feet as out rolls the Worlds Champion, Samoa Joe. The crowd chants his name as he stomps down the ramp with the title slung over his shoulder. He gets into the ring and paces up and down the line, and like a lion sniffs the fear off each man. He looks to intimidate his opponents as he then puts his hand out for Tenays microphone. Mike Tenay gladly gives it to him, but Joe stares at the commentator... Tenay gets the message and quickly dives out of the ring and runs for cover. Joe now with mic in hand slowly turns his head and looks at Kristal as if she was food and then shoots his eyes at Lashley, who puffs up his chest, stands in front of his wife, but gets her to also leave the ring. She does so quickly as Joe raises the mic to his face.
Joe tells them that of the five men in this ring, he is the only one to have been in a KotM match. He then says of the six Champions that walked into Slammiversary, he was the only one to walk out still the Champ. He tells all for men that they are about to step into one of the most brutal matches ever conceived, but it is now 100 times worse because Samoa Joe is the man they have to take the belt from. And that simply isnt going to happen. He tells them to get ready for pain because he will break them for trying to take what is his. He holds up the belt in front of all their faces. None of them appreciate it... RVD laughs at Joe, the Pope pretends its a mirror and does his hair, Lashley stares at Joe, while Hernandez ... well Hernandez does the unthinkable.. he spits in the World Champions face!
Did Joe deserve it? Does it matter? Hernandez and Joe explode like a nuclear bomb in the middle of the ring! The two behemoths attack each other, Pope looks to get involved but he is sucker punched by RVD and then hit with a 5 Star Frog Splash! Lashley gets involved and three powerhouses spill out onto the floor. Its chaos as Rob leaves the scene, and a sea of security has to pull the three men apart as TNA Impact goes to commercial...
We come back and the three man announce team, Tenay, West and Borash talk about the chaos that occurred during the KotM match interview... Borash chimes in and says, if thats just the pre-match interview the match itself is going to be a war. They say also tonight as last week it was Pope vs. RVD, this week it will be Lashley vs. Hernandez.
Match #1
Matt Morgan vs. Magnus w/Doug Williams
Last week the British Invasions Doug Williams put on a clinic with Bryan Danielson, just narrowly being defeated by the American Dragon. The Brits are awaiting their title shot against whoever steps out of the cage at Slammiversary with the tag belts. Tonight Magnus goes up against the Blueprint who will face off against Jeff Jarrett in two weeks. The confident Mag Daddy shows that he is almost as big as the giant, and he is unafraid. Morgan almost rolls his eyes, snorts and backs away. Magnus turns to his partner and says hes got this.. he fixes his hair and turns back into a Carbon Footprint!
Magnus is out as Morgan looks over at Doug. Williams complains to the ref that the bell had not rung yet. Morgan steps over the top rope, he drops down and walks slowly towards Doug, but then changes direction and stands over the time keeper. He tells the time keeper to ring the bell. The time keeper is scared out of his wits as last week, Morgan took out a camera man. The bell rings, and Morgan walks slowly back up the ring steps and steps back over the top rope.
Magnus seems to be coming to, but the Blueprint, showing no mercy, throttles him by the throat and then with no real emotion, hits the Hellavator! Magnus is out this time. Morgan steps on him, but the ref yells at Morgan that he wont recognise this as a victory. Boom! The ref is hit with a Carbon Footprint!
No Contest declared
The emotionless Morgan looks around. Morgan than grabs Magnus again, picking him up. Williams runs in and attacks Morgan from behind with a big shot to his back. Williams kicks at his legs, trying to chop the big man down. He then hits the ropes to hit Morgan with more force, but Morgan spins and hits a discus lariat knocking Williams out! Security come out for a second time in as many minutes tonight... but Morgan gorilla presses Williams and throws him out of the ring and down onto the security team! Morgan tosses Magnus over the top rope as he rules the ring... and thats when Jarretts music hits!!!!
Morgan is ready and the King of the Mountain runs through the taken out security and slides into the ring. The crowd goes nuts as these two guys exchange blows! Morgan seems to get the better of the exchange, but the veteran Jarrett ducks a big right hand and knocks Morgan down with a chop block! Morgan drops to one knee and Jarrett hits a drop kick right in Morgans face! Morgan rolls out to the floor and slaps the ring apron out of rage and frustration. Jarrett is about to baseball slide out after him, but security are back into it, and they grab Morgan and take him to the back. Morgan screams hell see Jarrett at Slammiversary. Jarretts music plays again as he stands in the ring, with a look of concern on his face. This giant is bringing his whole company down around him... he cannot fail in their match in two weeks...
After the commercial break, Christy Hemme is with the Pope DAngelo Dinero in his locker room... he says that if thats the way RVD likes to play it, the rules of the streets... then daddy Pimp be bringing the streets to RVD..
We then go to the commentary team as they update us on the injuries surrounding the X Division Champion and challenger. They say that Jeff Jarrett and the Championship Committee have said that the X Division Championship of the World is one of the most important parts of TNA, and it cannot be absent from the anniversary show . They have therefore decided that if Champion Low Ki and challenger Austin Aries are not medically cleared, then there will be an interim champion crowned. Low Kis camp have been trying to stop this since he was advised of it, but he has been told the show must go on.
A replay of the X Div 6 pack challenge from last week, with Red getting the victory by school boying Kazarian, but then the beat down from Frankie afterwards. The commentary team say that the participants in the interim title match will be... They are interrupted by the former X Champion Frankie Kazarians music. Frankie walks over the commentary team and then stands on their table. He has a mic and says that he is happy for the championship committee to hand him the interim championship and await for Low Kis return. He talks about how it makes sense and that he is the best wrestler and the best looking man in TNA. Kazarian turns around to yell at the commentary team and tell them to announce it here tonight.
Kazarian stopped yelling, he has sensed something.. he looks directly above him on the left of the stage, and there looking down at him is the Amazing Red! Red somersaults off the top and crashes down on Kazarian and the two men go straight through the table! The table is blasted into pieces, the three men behind the desk are blown off their seats. The fans go crazy as Red emerges from the rubble holding the back of his neck. The crowd chants, hes a-mazing as Red crosses his arms in the sign of a cross and then gives the sign of the belt as Impact goes to commercial
Match #2
Bobby Lashley w/Kristal vs. Shawn Hernandez
Two of the four challengers at KotM square off. The collide like bulls as they test their strength against the other. Although Shawn is probably slightly stronger, Lashleys technical prowess allows himself to use it better and is able to judo throw big Dez down. He then follows it up with big time clotheslines. Dez, pushes him off and looks for a clothesline of his own but gets hit with a series of punches and a headbutt. Shawn rolls out of the ring but Lashley follows and tries to run him into the steel steps. Hernandez blocks it and tries to run Lashley like a battering ram into it but Lashley slips out and Hernandez hits the steel.
Lashley brings him back into the ring and begins stomping away at Hernandez. Lashley nailed a leaping knee drop. He tried to set up Hernandez for the Dominator and end it early, but Hernandez breaks free and runs Lashley into the top turnbuckle. Shawn grabs Lashleys arm and pulls it through the ropes, pulling it against the ring post. He tries to do it again but Lashley pulled Hernandez into the post. He kicks and stomps Hernandez around the ring.
Lashley steps up onto the apron and looks to leap off it with a double sledge but is caught and run several times back first into the edge oif the ring and then into the guard rail. Hernandez deposits Bobby back into the ring but Lashley fights back. Hernandez catches him though with a big running powerslam for a two!
Hernandez headbutts Lashley, who staggers through the ropes to the floor. Lashley fights back but is powerslammed on the floor. Hernandez grabs the ring steps and throws them at Lashley, who got out of the way at the last second. Lashley though hits a running clothesline on the floor and takes control.
Lashley rolls him back into the ring just stopping a count out and then launches himself over the top rope with a big shoulder tackle! Dez throws clothesline, but Lashley goes to work and hits a running knee strike right between the eyes! Lashley picks him and in an amazing show of strength gorilla presses him into the turnbuckles head first! Lashley waits for Dez tio get up to finish him. A boot to the gt, the fans go up as he has him in the Dominator!
Dez slips out the back though and bounces off the ropes. Lashley turns around in time only to be smashed and sent flying across the ring by a huge running shoulder tackle!
Hernandez drops to a knee trying to shake off the damage he has endured. He then splashes him for a two count. Hernandez continues trashing Lashley and going for pinfalls, but the powerhouse keeps kicking out! Hernandez picks up Lashley and runs him into the buckles, then climbs them to come down with a big splash.
Hernandez crashes and burns as Kristal is able to alert her man to move at the last moment. Kristal jumps for joy, but its Chelsea who has walked down to get in her face about last week. Bobby is distracted and walks over to see the girls yelling at each other. The ref sees it too, as Desmond Wolfe in his suit and sunglasses walks down the ramp. Lashley tells them to get out of here. The ref tells them to leave. Boom! Low Blow!
Border Toss!
1.2.3.
Winner: Shawn Hernandez
12:53
Wolfe looks over at the man that took away his chance at Slammiversary and smiles. Hernandez roars with his hands in the air in victory. He beats his chest and gives the sign of the title. Wolfe slowly removes his glasses, as Kristal dives into the ring to help her husband. He grabs a mic and walks up the stairs and struts through the ropes. He tells Lashley that this is only the beginning of the consequences he will bring for costing him his shot. Kristal lies between her man and Wolfe, she knows just how dangerous he is and pleads for him to stay away. But as he removes his jacket, music hits the speakers ... the Final Countdown!
Desmond turns to see the American Dragon walk out onto the stage as the fans go crazy. They know the history between these two men, albeit from another timer and another place, when Desmond had a different name. Danielson from the ramp stops Wolfe short and says long time no see Desmond. The hate on Wolfes face is obvious as veins bulge in his forehead. Danielson says that Slammiversary is two weeks away and he doesnt have a dance partner. I challenge you, Desmond Wolfe at Slammiversary. Wolfe pauses looking at the fans, looking at his new clothes and his new surroundings, he looks back up at his greatest rival, and nods his head. You want to wrestle me? Here in TNA? You want to fight the man who humbled the great Kurt Angle when he first walked in the door? Im going to show the world once and for all who is the better man Danielson. Ill see you at Slammiversary sunshine, Im gonna end ya.... Dragons music hits again as he smiles and walks to the back leaving Desmond in the ring as Impact goes to commercial.
Backstage Austin Aries is in street clothes and is being interviewed by Christy Hemme. Aries says he wants to wrestle at Slammiversary, and he wants to become champion, but he wants to become champion by defeating Low Ki. He knows he can beat him, and says he will wait till Ki is fit. When Hemme asks Aries about his own status, Aries says he is breathing, so even though the doctors dont think so, thats good enough for him to get back in the ring and fight for the Championship.
Interrupting the interview from the left of the screen is the Canadian Destroyer Petey Williams. He says that Aries sounds like a real tough guy. But American heroes are all the same, they want o fight but they just arent up to the task, just like Kurt Angle. Petey says that at Slammiversary, hes going to end Angles career. And because it is an unsanctioned match, there is nothing anyone can do about it. He walks back out of the screen, leaving Hemme and Aries to both give him a discerning look...
Match #3
Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt and Consequences Creed vs. Jimmy Yang, Jack Evans and Zima Ion
With Champion and challenger down, last weeks Impact highlighted six X Division superstars, this week another six stars are showcased to show the depth of the division and tonight sees some big time returns ready to shine and take back their spot at the top.
Its a high flying free for all as all six men put on an amazing show for the fans with gravity and death defying spots. In a match that is almost too fast to report on, one spot brings the fans to their feet where each man from the ring to the floor hits their own high flying move which takes out everyone. One at a time each man does the same destroying everyone! Lethal gets back into the ring and is followed in by Yang. The two exchange a serious of moves and each man kicks out!
Lethal hits the Lethal Combination, and then goes up top for the big sky elbow, but is hit in the back by a chair! The bell sounds, as Lethal crashes all the way to the arena floor!
No contest declared
8:03
Standing on the apron wielding the chair is Petey Williams. He quickly enters the ring and when Yang gets to his feet he levels him also! Evans runs in to save his tag partner but he too eats steel! Williams demands a microphone. He looks directly into the camera and speaks to Kurt Angle... he says that this is Kurt Angles future, and at Slammiversary, it will be unsanctioned, which means no rules, and that he will end Kurt Angle once and for all.
Williams throws the chair on the ground, grabs Evans and hits the sick Canadian Destroyer on the chair!!! Security, referees and officials run out, but Petey has made his statement loud and clear and walks off. The officials call for EMTs as Evans is extremely hurt
Match #4
Alissa Flash vs. Hamada
The commentary team during the entrances have announced that at Slammiversary that Alissa Flash will indeed get an opportunity at the Knock Outs Championship due to the stipulation put forward two weeks ago. The vicious Hamada though doesnt seem to like this idea and aggressively comes at the Future Legend like a bull out of a gate. Flash covers up and gets in under the ropes to break it up. The ref has no choice but to break it up. Flash though shoots out of the corner, pushing the ref to the side, and puts a thumb in the eye of the Japanese warrior. The ref being turned around at the time didnt see it, and Flash goes on the offensive. She hits a chop block to the back of Hamadas knees and then drops the leg for a 2 count.
Hamada still holding her eye is blindsided by a leaping off the middle rope boot to the face! 1.2. Hamada kicks out again, and quickly gets to her feet, reversing up, by Flash is relentless, and goes after her left side with elbows and kicks. A vertical suplex later and the crowd boos the cocky Flash as she bows to them with a big smirk. She goes for the cover but is kicked off again.
Flash is now frustrated and looks for the finish with another suplex, but it is blocked, and Hamada now fires back with the vicious elbows and stiff kicks we have seen from her over the last few months. Flash is down and is pinned...1...2.... 2 ½, kick out! Flash is on dream street is in serious trouble as the squinting Hamada lines her up for the kick that has finished so many Knock Outs.
But then Awesome Kongs music hits and down she stomps. Flash has felt her spinning back fist before and rolls out of the ring. Kong looks for her, the girl who has taken her title opportunity from her. But Hamada thinking Kong is out for her usual destruction of all KOs throws herself over the top rope using her body as a weapon! Kong is down!! Hamada screams and starts kicking away at Kong as Flash makes a quick escape, but runs into Tara! Flash throws an elbow, Tara blocks it and kicks her in the gut and then she DDTs her on the ramp!
No contest declared
4:21
Hamada looks for another kick, but Kong absorbs the brutal shot, and then hits her spinning back fist into Hamadas blurred eye. Hamada drops, and is rolled into the ring. Tara though hits her from behind, and the two blast each other with shots. Kong hits a clothesline knocking her down. Kong gets into the ring, Implant Buster on Hamada! Tara gets into the ring, but she is goozled, then kicked in the gut, then hit by the sit out power bomb! Kong reigns supreme as with Jarrett in wrestler mode instead of Founder mode the show tonight seems to have lost all control.
Backstage cameras now capture Gail Kim on the ground double over as the Beautiful People stand over her. Gail was obviously on her way out to help Tara and Hamada but were caught by the two girls who she defeated last week in the main event. Sky and Love laugh at her before walking off as people come to check on her. Back to the ring and Kong is still standing over Tara and Hamada and gives the sign of the belt as we go to commercial.
When we return the commentary team talk about how tonights episode has been pure chaos and they know Jeff Jarrett is facing Matt Morgan at Slammiversary, but some law and order needs to be brought down or there are going to be a lot of wrestlers hurt.
But just as they say that, the Tennessee Cowboy James Storms music hits and out comes James Storm. He steps into the ring and talks about Beer Money. He talks about how they were the greatest tag team in the world and how if Robert Roode just stuck to the plan, they would be World Champion right now. But his jealousy got the better of him, so at Slammiversary, he is going to destroy Roode for ruining their dream, and his dream of becoming the Champ.
Out walks Roode, he cant believe what he is hearing. He doesnt back down and steps into the ring face to face with his former partner. Roode says that Storm seems to have forgotten part of the story. Roode says that it was Storms ego that screwed him out of getting a title shot. He sucker super kicked him the face to get the opportunity, and then he couldnt get the job done, but he could. Three weeks ago he pinned Samoa Joe 1.2.3. Something that Storm couldnt do.
Storm laughs at Roode, and says hes the one missing details in his story. Storm calls Roode a dumbass and that he wasnt even in the match. Storm says he took Joe to his limit for 30 mins, did all the work, did all the damage, and Roode just slipped in there and picked the bones with his stoopid finisher.
Roode says his finisher is not stupid. The crowd get a cackle from this. Roode says it really doesnt matter any more, because come Slammiversary, he is going to enjoy busting his face. Storm smiles and shakes his head and tells him thats not gonna happen, in fact Roode is the one who will be spitting out teeth. Sorry about your damn luck... Storm shoots for the super kick... Roode dodges it, he looks for a big lariat, but Storm ducks that and its a stalemate... The two men who used to be brothers who know each other like the back of their own hands, are ready for whatever the other guy throws at him. The stare at each other as Roode leaves and we
go backstage.
The World Tag Team Champions, The Motor City Machine Guns and their girlfriends the Beautiful People are with Christy Hemme. Hemme condemns the TBPs actions against Gail Kim only minutes ago. Sky and Love tell Hemme to mind her own business and do her job, and that is interviewing the very best in the industry, the MCMGs. Shelley steps up to the microphone and thanks Love for her sentiments and says he couldnt put it better herself. He tells Hemme to do what shes paid to do, and thats hold the microphone and be quiet while she stands next to greatness.
Shelley says that Slammiversary, it will be the Guns, Detroits favourite sons, for THE last time taking on Styles and Daniels for the belts inside the six sides of steel. Sabin then makes Hemme put the mic in front of him and states that this time, there will be no doubt who are the very best wrestlers in the entire world really are, and that is, the Motor City Machine Guns!
The TNA Founder, and King of the Mountain Jeff Jarrett walks out to the ring. He says that chaos has run rampant tonight and that as the Founder, he will put an end to it right now. Tonights main event will be an 8 man tag match and it is next. We go to commercial wondering whos going to be in this huge match that will put an end to all the disorder Impact has experienced tonight.

The Pope and RVD are about to take each other out on the apron, while Morgan scoffs at Jarrett and jumps to the floor nodding his head. This leaves Petey Williams who almost looks like hes licking his lips to hit the TNA Founder with a Canadian Destroyer.
Petey enters the ring, and the bell sounds. The two men lock up, Jarrett with the height advantage, gets the head lock but Petey pushes him into the ropes. Jarrett comes back with a shoulder block. Jarrett looks for a tag, but is dragged back by Morgan who grabs him by the hair and looks for a choke slam

The ref yells at AJ to get back to his corner. AJ throws up the arms and calmly distracts the ref, as Daniels pulls Jarrett into the corner and Joe tags in! Morgan gets to his feet and as he does, becomes face to face with the World Champion
maybe a sight for things to come? The crowd love it as the two big men of TNA pause for a moment and then explode with a whirlwind of punches and strikes. Each man refuses to fall as they give each other hell. Finally Morgan is blasted in the face one too many times and leaps over and tags in RVD! Rob who has dealt with Joe before is eager to send him a message that he will beat him at Slammiversary.

Williams tags in the Pope and the two double team the Fallen Angel with a double clothesline and then a double suplex!
The Pope then starts preaching to the Fallen Angel. Daniels tries to push him away, but Pope hits an STO, dropping Daniels on the back of his head! 1..2
AJ makes the save! Daniels then tags in Styles to the roar of the crowd and he and the Pope go crazy. Styles launches Pope into the ropes and vintage Styles, hits the dropkick, sending Pope out to the floor! Pope hits hard, but Styles glides over the top rope and crashes down on top of him!
The fans are on their feet, as Styles rolls the Pope back in, only to get his head almost taken off by a Carbon Foot print from Morgan!!! Styles cracks his skull on the concrete floor and looks to be totally out! Joe and Jarrett drop down to meet him, but the ref gets in between them as Morgan laughs as he gets back to his corner. The ref starts to count out Styles, but Joe rolls him back in and Pope who is about to tag RVD, doesnt and tags in Morgan. RVD and Pope are now on the apron arguing and giving each other stares as Morgan grabs AJ and hits a huge back breaker! 1

Jarrett makes the save!
Morgan goes after Jarrett but is blindsided by Samoa Joe with a big running boot! Jarrett drags the possibly unconscious Styles to the corner and tags himself in. He blasts Morgan with rights and lefts putting the big man in the corner. Williams makes the save!
Petey looks for the Destroyer again this time on Jarrett, but Daniels hits him with a Death Valley Driver! Pope lands safely on the floor as Morgan and Williams have been left high and dry. Joe smashes Morgan in the face with a big lariat as Jarrett, the legal man locks on the figure four leg lock! The selfish Canadian, sees Joe protecting Jarrett and refuses to help his tag partner and drops to the mat, Morgan has no choice but to tap.
Winners: Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, AJ Styles and Jeff Jarrett
16:37
Morgan rolls out of the ring. He grabs his knee and hobbles away from the ring. He knows he wants to be 100% going into Slammiversary and tapped early, but he is still livid that it was Jarrett who beat him tonight. He kicks the steel steps, as camera men, referees and timekeepers run for their lives. The ref checks on Styles as he is still hurt, as Williams backs up the ramp shaking his head. Pope stands over RVD, as Joe raises his belt in the air to get the fans on their feet and then slaps Jarrett on the back.
Jarrett looks down from inside the ring at Morgan and does his little Jarrett dance to mae the fans laugh at Morgan, who is now more incensed, and roars as Impact goes off the air with the faces celebrating in the ring!
