And I facts to support that claim. First off Mike Tenay is just wrestlings answer to Rainman, sure he knows alot but no one in their right mind wants to hear him speak. He over exaggerates everything from a simple punch to a chair shot. Listening to Him call a wrestling program only reminds me of the lackluster shows WCW use to produce, and we all remember how that ended.

As for Taz I enjoyed him calling Smackdown, but I guess he is trying to work with what he has right now in TNA so I guess Im not gonna really rip him right now.

Hogan really needs to read these forums to finally realize how much people really can't stand him anymore. He needs to get out from under the 1980's rock and get with reality. It's 2011 Hogans ship sailed about 6 years ago, sure you changed the face of wrestling forever contgradulations, you would have never done it if it weren't for the man you are so hell bent on trying to put out of business. Your a real class act. And for anyone who says that he can still draw thats only true to a certain extent, he only draws because people either want to see the shell of a once great man continue to make a joke out of his legacy or they want to see TNA hold down their actual homegrown talent.

Dixie has no idea what she is doing is killing her company and Double J continues to work for/with her. That just goes to show how attention starved the people at TNA are.

I liked TNA in it's original concept but it has turned into a second rate WWE rip off, and why would I want to watch a second rate WWE rip off when one of the announcers is ******ed, the other can only do so much without any help, hogan is only there for a paycheck a d to convince himself that he is still a wrestling god, and Dixie thinks that running a 3.3.11 video the SAME WEEK as WWE delivered the answer to it's 2.21.11 video is the most shocking moment in TNA history. - BROTHER!!!!!!!

The announcers in TNA are fine, so what if Tenay overreacts slightly? WWE has had Michael Cole for years and until recently when he started his heel character everyone hated him because he sucked. Todd Grisham is even worse. Even Joey Styles (who I think is fantastic) overreacted at nearly every opportunity. Tenay actually attempts to call a match by telling the viewer what is going on in the ring without being restricted to trying to tell a story without mentioning wrestling. He actually calls moves by their real names. He is ok in my book.

Yes, I agree with you on Hogan needing to get out of TNA. Unless he was playing an authority figure like a GM, he isnt worth keeping around. His presense hasnnt boosted buyrates or ratings, and he dominates too much time on the show. I am aure he realises that TNA is not going to really threaten Vince, he is clearly just there for a fat paycheque

As for Dixie, she is a lovely woman but does seem to be a bit in awe of the big stars that come in. I would like to see her succeed, but it does seem like she is a bit lost when it comes to putting out a product that the people want to see.

This actually got a chuckle out of me. I'm not a huge fan of Mike Tenay, but I feel his commentating abilities definitely overshadow what's out there at present. That's not to say that I think Tenay is brilliant, more like he may lay claim to being "the best" out of a rather lackluster bunch (the "voices" of WWE included).

I never enjoyed Taz behind the mic in either promotion. A talker like Foley? Yeah, I can see him having a successful career on commentary. On the contrary, Taz was a silent savage for the begining of his career, then a tough as nails killer for the rest of it. Other than colorfully remarking how he was going to "choke somebody out", I just never really saw him as someone who could give color to the ongoings from outside of the ring. Just personal preference really.

By my estimation, 2011 is probably the fourth time popular opinion has stated that Hogan needs to get out because he's old, stale, bad for the business, etc. Upon his departure from WWF in 1993, popular opinion stated that fans were tired of Hogan's "training, prayers, and vitamins" and his continued posturing for the main event spotlight was holding back guys like Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels. From here, he went to WCW and reignited his rivalry with Ric Flair that was never finished in WWF. The first PPV that featured those guys in the main event was one of the highest selling WCW PPV's to that point.

In 1995 or so, folks were tired of Hogans "nonsense" again and his future in WCW looked bleak. Folks didn't care, and I actually remember watching a match on Nitro where a "heel" Arn Anderson pinned a "face" Hogan clean and the crowd cheered. From there, Hogan went on to turn heel himself and be instrumental in the foundation of the nWo, arguably the greatest and most profitable faction/angle in the history of professional wrestling.

In the early 2000's, Hogan tried to reinvent himself as part of the "millionaires club" (anybody remember FUNB?) and was mostly falling on his face due to his inability to completely put over young talent like Billy Kidman, the Filthy Animals, and even his "family member" Mike Awesome. WCW was bought out, Hogan waited out his contract and afterwards was presumed to be "too irrelevant" to compete in "todays WWF." Then the nWo returned to WWF initially to thunderous applause. Then Wrestlemania X8 happened, reigniting Hogans "legendary face" status all over again.

Her family essentially owns the company. Unless TNA is turned over to new ownership, expect Dixie to be an integral part of the on-goings, simply because she is majority owner in the company. She feels she needs to be an on-screen part of the program rather than just a behind the scenes owner/operator. Want to fix that? Change the channel whenever Dixie is on. The ratings will reflect the switch, TNA will either change or go away. Problem solved.

If the absolute mess that was TNA circa 2002 didn't kill the company outright, I don't think anything will at this point. Back then, you had garbage like "the Flying Elvises", the Johnsons (life-size wrestling johnsons) and a midget engaging in "self abuse" in a trash can. The real shocker was that people were PAYING for this, as the programming ran only on PPV. Regardless of the decisions Carter, Hogan, Bischoff, or even Russo make nowadays... as long as someone is signing the checks and pouring money into the company, I don't see it ever going away simply due to "bad ideas."

I guess since I wasn't a real young kid when Hogan came around and I had been a wrestling fan for several years before that I don't view him in the same light. But then again I never drank any of the WWE/F Kool-Aid as I've never liked it or wasted much time watching it. Yeah I would trun it on some to see what was going on but never really cared for it.

I think I must be the only person in the universe who likes Taz on commentary.

I'm not saying I'm wholly in love with him as an announcer. I think he too often goes for the hard sell. Selling the product is your job as an announcer- pretty much your only job- but he goes over the top with it and can make the audience feel as if they're having something sold to them.

The body of his work, however, I'm rather pleased by. He's very rough on the mic while not being unrefined. His style reminds me of a Jesse Ventura, or a Lawler in the '90s. He comes off as a true believer in the company he works for, which regardless of whether it's true, is more then I can say for 80% of the wrestling staff. The scripts they sometimes get.... oy. I can't hold him responsible for some of the crazy stuff that's come out of his mouth. I am quite sure there are times he has bit his cheek and thought "I can't believe they want me to read this shit."

Mike Tenay is a great 3rd man in the booth. Unfortunately, TNA uses a 2-man commentator setup, and he's not a good play-by-play guy. Mike Tenay is a great analysis man; he has a gift for making professional wrestling seem like a legitimate competition. But he's a much better color commentator then he is a play-by-play man; he sounds forced.

I am 42 years old and I have been watching Wrestling since I was a kid and we are talking old NWA stuff and WWE stuff back when Hogan first became Chump I mean Champ.

I have ALWAYS hated Hogan untalented in the ring...his promos are the same since the early 80's and the words have barely changed from Hulk Hogan to Hollywood Hogan back to Hulk Hogan etc etc etc....look at his Promos they are the same as 20+ years ago almost word for word.

He burried a Talented man in Roddy Piper on the stick and in the ring for years.

TeNAy is no J.R., but I'd much rather put up with him than Don West. As far as overexaggeration, Joey Styles and Michael "Colesore" say hi.

Tazz is decent. Not the greatest but not the worst. I do think he tries a little to hard in TNA. His interactions with older stars is nice to see from time to time.

I've given up on Hogan. He's like Vince. He won't live the wrestling business till he's dead. It's a piss in the drinking water of pro wrestling, but there it is. He was important 2-3 decades ago. Even when he was facing the rock it wasn't bad. But now, he's just a spotlight hog and is kind of an eyesore.

It's no secret that TNA are attention ****es. Also, i for one enjoyed TNA a hell of a whole lot better when it wasn't a home for legends, WWE rejects, and lame ass gimmicks(which reminds me, why has NOBODY ranted on WWE getting older guys back, but TNA gets blasted like Lebron?!)

Not everything you mentioned is terriblely eye gouging, but a good 95% is. TNA will die, only when vince has had enough of them making fools of themselves. 3-3-11 blows. That brother was unnecessary. And try to focus on the good of TNA.(I said try)

Well put, exactly my thoughts on this post. Saying everything sucks isn't a fact. Great, you made the five millionth post saying TNA sucks. Now back it up, or maybe give us something new to suggest how to make things better. If you are saying they are not giving us anything new, just rehashing old stuff and not making much sense...well, that is pretty much a summary of this thread too.

did Tenay as an announcer have anything to do with what happened to WCW? it wasn't even just what was going on in WCW that put WCW out of business. of course there are A LOT of people that don't really know or care to find out what really happened to end WCW. now sure WCW wrestling wasn't doing well, but that is not THE thing that put them out of business. the merger was a big part of what happened.

personally I don't really notice Tenay or Taz to know whether they are doing good or bad. but if you think one or both of them should be replaced, who do you replace them with?
