Thoughts on Cena and Orton as a team of some sort?!!

I've been wondering about pairing these two guys up the last few weeks. John Cena and Randy Ortan as Tweener/Heel type team. To be honest I can really care less right now. But sooner or later Cena is going to kind of turn heel like Hardy as finally done. Rey could be next unless he retires in the next few years.

The only reason I've been thinking about this is everyone has been in talks of Cena turning heel and joining Nexus. To be honest I really prefer Cena turns heel kind of the same way as Austin did when align with Triple H in 2001 for a brief moment until Triple H got injury. Now the best way for this to happen is of course after WrestleMania for sure.

Orton is probably going to slowly turn heel by that time anyways. If Triple H does return around the time Orton turns heel then things can easily get set up for Cena to turn heel align with Orton. They already had team up or as ally during the whole Nexus thing but as a face team. It doesn't happen soon or right now but just a thought. Cena has a match or run-in attacks an opponent that Orton is facing or helps him in some how which of course it could a return HHH thats a face or someone that the fans love like Evan B or Cena or Morrison or someone in that nature.

At this moment theirs not enough faces unless from now and until this idea happens then Orton and Cena needs to stay a face. Lets face their are tons of heels right now in WWE but they really aren't doing their job to get people to hate them.

If guys can stop getting hurt and WWE establishes some more top faces this thing would go well. Now should Orton and Cena capture all the gold like HHH and Austin did? That would be interesting because then everyone would be after them. It be kind of funny if Cena won the WWE, IC, and Tag Team Titles and while Orton win World, US, and Tag Team Titles. The two biggest stars with all the titles.


Lets face it that won't happen that was a fantasy and I got caught in the moment. WWE couldn't afford for something to happen and especially either man gets injury during this process like when HHH went out which mess a lot of things up for Austin and himself.



Really thoughts about pairing these two up as a heel and take over type faction?!

I know Orton been mainly a heel and been apart of factions like Evolution, Legacy, and Rated RKO. This would be something bigger those factions/team if this went down if you ask me.

Cena well mainly a face and the go to guy for the WWE. Besides being the face and leader of Raw his only time with a team or faction was with Cryme time which was interesting for sure.



I would rather something like this to happen and intead of Cena joining the Nexus group.

I always thought Cena & Orton could be like The Two Man Power Trip. They've tagged in the past & shown good chemistry. Plus The AA into RKO Tag Move is superb!

While I do agree the 2 have good chemistry, I don't think there's a chance in hell this happens by Wrestlemania. Orton just turned tweener/face this year. They're not going to have him switch back to heel in less than a year. WWE doesn't do that stuff very often unless they can't figure out what to do with someone. They've obviously got something good already in Orton so there's no need to mess that up. Will he go heel again? Probably, but not this soon.

With Cena, I think the time to turn him heel has come and gone. He just rekindled his feud with Nexus since CM Punk has now taken over. It would make even less sense for him to turn heel now that it did before. Plus, like you said, there just aren't enough big time faces on Raw. Cena, Orton and Morrison is just now starting to reach the upper level. If you turn even one of those guys heel, let alone 2, they'll have no one to fight.

On one final note, if Cena is legitamitely injured your point is moot. Orton would absolutely have to stay face because he's the only one who can take Cena's spot against Nexus. Morrison doesn't have the promo ability yet and no one else is a big enough face.

Definitely not. It's like asking if HHH and Rock could form a good tag team. The best thing if Orton's going to be pushed as a face is for Orton and Cena to be on separate brands.

This! I hate seeing the two of them together unless they are trying to kill one another. When they are on the same team it just feels wrong. Orton is horrible as a face and well I just find him horrible altogether but I never want to see an angle where he and Cena are partners.

I think they have excellent chemistry in the ring as partners and as enemies... it would be cool to see them tag because I really do love the combined AA/RKO combination finisher. I loved when they fought the entire RAW Roster. Either way, I think teaming is a good idea, BUT I do not wanna see them team as heels to take over WWE. If Cena turns heel, I want Cena's feud to be against Orton, make them be rivals for WWE History, much like The Rock and Austin, or Trish and Lita, etc.

I was also thinking of the same thing (teaming up Cena and Orton). Now, I know that the 2 top draws can't be a team, it would be a ruin for the sales and singles division, but guys, come on, The Miz is the WWE champ, Sheamus is KOTR, JoMo has stepped up, Barrett has nothing to do since he got dumped out of Nexus, Hunter will be returning soon and CM Punk is back from injury. So many guys to fill the singles division. Plus, the WWE needs a legitimate tag-team now. All they've got is Usos, Nexus (Gabriel/Slater), Henry and Tatsu/Bourne, and the worst team in the history as the tag champs Santozlov or Koztino (whatever they call themselves). Cena and Orton could have a great title run as faces. Plus, they could even fued with the Nexus. Two guys against 6 are better than 6-on-1 right??

Orton and Cena as a team? Well I loved it when they paired up before, I was suprised how well they worked together as a team. IF they joined forces, it would be best for it to be for a short term only. Much like Rated RKO. That was what, 3 or 4 months? It could be interesting, but unlikley. I actually like what was said before, about Orton and Cena being life long rivals.

What would be the purpose exactly? It's not as if these two are going to step down into the tag team ranks in some effort to revitalize the tag team division. For them to start some sort of faction together would be pointless as well. Why? Because a faction should be served to further a storyline, or elevate a superstar. Neither need the other in an alliance to further a storyline their involved in, and they certainly don't need elevated. Both have been shown to have tunnel vision when it comes to the WWE Championship, and one isn't going to step out of the way, in kayfabe terms, so the other can chase the title.

The idea here too is that one would have to turn heel eventually, so they can feud with one another. You suggested Cena would be the one turning heel, eventually, just like Jeff Hardy. Cena doesn't need to turn heel just for the sake of a surprise, as was the case with Jeff Hardy. If he doesn, there needs to be a slow turn and a bigger face ready to take him place. Until that day comes, Cena turning heel is a terrible idea. Since him turning heel is a terrible idea, the idea of him teaming with Orton is terrible as well. I fail to see the benefit whatsoever in the team. So two men can dominate the entire roster and bury them? Because that's what would happen.

Nah I don't think they should be a team. I am perfectly fine seeing them team up as a rare treat of sorts as they do have awesome chemistry together. I would not want them to become a tag team full time with winning tag titles and all that. I think they should only team up when the opposing team they face is guys they are fueding with. As LSN said, one of them would have to turn heel which much to the dismay of the IWC Cena should NOT and I don't see Orton being heel again for a long time. Why? Have you heard the reactions he gets? He can do and has done anything he wants heel or face wise and he gets an epic ovation. So like I said, them team up once in a while? Yes. Full time? Absolutely not.

It would definitely have to be done right. I honestly think the only way that could be done is if both guys were heels. Just like Stone Cold and HHH were during the Two Man Power Trip days. I think Cena and Orton are too big of fan favorites for it to make sense for them to form a tag team. When they are "forced" to tag together on an episode of RAW, they do very well, and it is exciting to see. But I think they would lose some fans of they teamed up now as Baby Faces.

I think they both could have good chemistry with anyone. I would prefer them not to team up. On an occasion to take on a Heel team, such as Nexus or the 2 guys they each are feuding with separately is okay for me.

But overall, I would prefer Orton to do his own thing. I consider him to be kind of an Anti-Cena. So the further he stays away from being like Cena or around Cena, besides a feud or match WITH each other, the better.

I see the comparison though to The 2 Man Power Trip. They would definitely make some headlines together, but I do not like the idea very much at all.
