You want details huh? Ok, I can give details. I got nothing else better to do as I wait for my next class.
Four of the biggest name to ever grace the squared ring in the WWE. The Texas Rattlesnake, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin; The People's Champ, The Rock; The Game, Triple H; and The Champ, John Cena. Over 30 world titles, 17 WM main events, countless midcard and tag team titles, public charity, tv, and movie appearances, sure write-ins for the Hall of Fame (hell one of them is already in it). All four men have had great rivalries with at least one of the other particpants, who could forget the WM 17 classic b/w Austin and Rock, or the great Ironman match b/w Rock and HHH, or the war in the 3 Stages of Hell match b/w HHH and Austin, or the spectable at WM 22 b/w HHH and Cena. Wins and losses have been traded back in forth but it's finally time to settle the debate of who is the greatest superstar out of these four competitors.
It all began when John Cena rose to the moutaintop once again to defeat CM Punk for WWE title at TLC. During his reign, it was talked about that Cena may be the best superstar the company has ever had. This caused quite a shock and amusement from the Cerebal Assasin and WHC, Triple H. So much shock that he laid down a challenge to Cena in a Champion vs Champion match on a Raw that ended in a No Contest when the suprise return of The Rock interupted the match and laid out both men with a Rock Bottom and said "Finally, the Rock has come back to the WWE!" This led to the Rock challenging Triple H for the WHC at the Royal Rumble to reignite their great rivalry.
At said event, Cena retained his title against the challenge of Sheamus while the Rock beat Triple H to become an 8 time World Champion and reclaim his disputed spot at the top of the mountain. Yet, in another suprise, during the Rumble itself, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin shockingly returned at the number 40 spot and won an unpredecented 4th Royal Rumble. Austin came back to do four things, "Drink beer, Raise Hell, Drink more beer, and become the WWE Champ once again." After the Elimination Chamber PPV, where Cena and Rock retained their respective titles, it was during an episode of Raw in the main event of Cena/Austin/Rock vs Punk/Sheamus/Ziggler, that HHH had made a return after brooding over his lost at RR and proceed to demolish everything in the ring with a sledgehammer. At the next episode, the WWE Chairman, Vincent Kennedy McMahon made a groundbreaking announcement. The announcement was that at WM 28, we would have the first ever Fatal Four Way for the Undisputed Championship. The particants would be the World Heavyweight Champion, the Rock, the WWE Champion, John Cena, the former WH champ, Triple H (who never got his rematch), and the Royal Rumble winner, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. Not only would this tremendous match finally decide who is the best of the best but it will also determine the undisputed champion of the WWE.
Wrestlemania: The lights are bright, the crowd is at its highest of the night, and all four guys look ready to win. The crowd seems to be split in fours on who the want to win. The northeast section of the stadium is clearly pro HHH, the northwest is pro Rock, the southeast is pro Austin, and the southwest is pro Cena. We start with Rock and Austin trading punches while Cena and HHH go at it. After a while, Rock and Austin go to the floor, and Cena and HHH are trading pins in the ring. After a devestating shoulder block from Cena that sends the Game to the outside, Austin comes in with a Lou Thesz press on Cena and begins pummeling away at the Champ. However, Cena counters a suplex attempt into a spinning fisherman suplex that sends Austin to the floor, but in comes Rock with slaps to Cena. Yet, Cena counters a Samoan Drop into a dropkick which sends the Rock to the outside and it is clear who has the advantage in the early part of the match.
After Austin comes back in the ring, the Champ begins to work on him. As he goes up for a Diving Leg Drop. Here comes HHH out of nowhere to push him off the turnbuckle and into the barricade. It's Austin and Triple H having a staredown in the ring as flashbacks of No Way Out 2001 are being brought back. Austin, Hunter, Austin, Hunter, Austin, Hunter, punches are being traded back but it's Triple H finally winning with a knee drop to the face. Now the Game begins his assault on the Rattlesnake. After connecting with a Double A spinebuster, the Game is hyped and posing as the crowd is cheering for the Pedigree. Yet here comes the Rock, and oh the sight from both guys staring at each other. It's 2000 all over again as HHH and the Rock trade blows! HHH gets the upperhand with a knee drop to the face and is working on the Rock in the corner. The Game connects with a drop toe hold and gets the Rock in a modified Figure Four. The Rock is clearly in pain but somehow he is finding energy to move to the ropes. He grabs to the bottom rope to make HHH break up the submission but the Rock may be down for. HHH picks him up and hits a neckbreaker. Here comes Cena and the Champ is Here! with rights and lefts for the Game, but HHH counters with a high knee and he may hit the Pedigree on Cena. He goes to pick him up put a drop toe hold and the STF is locked on! HHH may be out of the match as the hold is on in the center of the ring. HHH is trying to find a way to the ropes but he may not be able too. Wait, he's edging inch by inch, and yes! he got to the ropes. Cena lets go of the hold and he's sizing HHH up for possibly the Attitude Adjustment. However, Cena gets a little too greedy with the flying shoulder block and HHH ducks which sends Cena to the outside. HHH turns his attention back to the Rock, who is finally gettin up after that brutal submission by the Game, and is looking for the Pedigree, but the Rock hits a Samoan Drop out of nowhere and is sniffing the air with a second wind in him. He waits for the Game to get up but here's Austin to send the Rock to the outside. As Austin stares at a grounded Rock, HHH is standing behind him waiting to strike. A high knee however is missed by HHH which results in Austin hitting a back body drop sending HHH in the corner and Austin begins to stomp a mudhole into his ass and walk it dry! Here comes the Rock with a DDT on Austin and kipup and from how wild the crowd is acting you know what he's signaling for but HHH is down too so who will the Rock go for? The question is answer when both Austin and HHH get up and the Rock goes for a double Rock Bottom. However both men lay elbows on the Rock's head and escape and hit a double suplex which takes out the People's Champ again.
Austin and HHH then look at each other and the trash talking ensues. Yet here is Cena with a double shoulder block and another and then a Protoplex on HHH then one on Austin and the Champ is standing strong and the crowd is standing up. "You Can't See Me" to Austin and HHH and a bounce off the ropes, dust both shoulders off, and the double Five Knuckle Shuffle connects. Now Cena is waiting to see who is his first victim for the AA. Here comes the Rock however to spoil the Champ's plan and suprises him with a Rock Bottom! When the Rock turns around, Austin hits the Stunner! Yet here's HHH with a Pedigree on Austin! The Game covers Austin but Austin kicks out! So HHH covers the Rock but he kicks out too! So he covers Cena but wouldn't you know it, Cena kicks out too! Amazing! Well not for HHH who is clearly fustrated and says to hell with it. He goes outside and looks under the ring and finds his old friend, the Sledgehammer. I should remind you that this is a No DQ match. HHH enters the ring with that sadistic smile on his face as who knows what horror awaits the first guy that stands up. HHH sees the Rock stirring and using the ropes to get on his feet. The Game is stalking his prey with the weapon tightly gripped. Yet, here's Austin with a suprised Stunner which sends the hammer flying and HHH too! Rock with the pin, 1-2-3! And HHH is gone! Unbelievable! At 21 minutes into the match, we have our first elimination!
The crowd has gone wild from this shocking elimination! As HHH rolls to the outside, obviously disappointed, the three men left are lying in the ring. Austin is the first to get and here's Cena shortly after him and the two men begin to trade punches and here's the Rock and all three men are trading punches now! What a sight to see! It finally ends with the Rock clotheslining both men. Now here's the Brahma Bull, the Great One, the Most Electrifying Man in WWE history, the People's Champ the Rock doing what he does best and that's laying the Smackdown on some candy asses. Cena and Austin happened to be the two unfortunate candy asses right now. As the Rock goes from one corner to the other, he hits a slap on each trip. Austin finally counters one of those trips and he seems to how found a second wind as he is whooping the Rock right now with right hand after right hand. As the Rock is reeling and it looks like one more shot may put him down for good, the ducks the punch attempt and hits a DDT. However, Cena hits the Rock with a one handed bulldog. He goes up again looking to hit the leg drop and this time he connects on it hitting the Rock. As Cena gets up, he gives the HLR three finger signal and the crowd is at a frenzy again! Cena is posed for the AA and Austin is getting up. He puts Austin on his shoulder and it may be over for the Rattlesnake but here is the Rock dropping Cena on his back as Austin falls and rolls out of the ring. Now the Rock gets the Sharpshooter on Cena! As the crowd is cheering frantically, the Champ is clearly in a lot of pain and he may be seconds away from tapping. The Rock has the hold right in the center of the ring. Yet somehow, the Champ is finding strength to will himself to the ropes. As he slowly crawls on his elbows to the ropes, the Rock is trying to bring him back. Cena finally makes it to bottom rope forcing the Rock to break the submission but the damage may have already been done and Cena's time may be up. The Rock must certainly be thinking that as he is in position for the Rock Bottom. Cena gets up and the Rock hits him with the Spinebuster and he goes to the head of Cena and it may be time for the most electrifying move in sports entertainment history, The People's Elbow. He takes off his left shoulder pad and flings it into the crowd. Signaling the side to side motion, he bounces of the left ropes, jumps over Cena then bounces of the right side. Yet here's Austin with a kick and Stunner! And the Rock flops to the outside.
Austin is standing tall in the ring and he seems to be going for the People's Elbow on Cena! He bounces off the left side then the right but connects with the elbow drop to the head. Now he sends Cena to the outside and follows him, Austin throws Cena into the steel steps, ring post, and finally into the Spanish announce table. Austin graps a chair and swings for Cena head but misses and the Champ grabs the chair and knocks Austin into Dreamland on the Spanish announce table. Cena goes up on the table with Austin and he is going for an AA onto the other table. Here's Rock however with a low blow to spoil the plans, and then a Rock Bottom onto Cena through the Spanish announce table! As the Rock goes back into the ring, Stone Cold is getting up and we have another staredown this time b/w Austin and Rock as flashbacks from WM 19, 17, and 15 are brought back. The usual trash talk ensues and the tradebacks begins and it's the Rock that gets the upperhand as he sends Austin backpeddling with slap after slap. Finally the Rock sets up for the final slap, but Austin counters with punches that sends the Rock to the other side of the ring and into a corner where Austin begins to stomp a mudhole into the Great One and walk it dry. Austin awaits for the Rock to get up for another Stunner. The Rock however counters this time and grabs the leg of Austin as he was going for the kick, spins him around, and the Rock hits Austin with a Stunner of his own! Here's Cena though and he hits the Rock with a Rock Bottom! Cena is looking at Austin getting up obviously setting up for the Attitude Adjustment but Austin counters and hits Cena with the AA! All three men are down again and the crowd is on fire! Rock is the first to show any signs of life as he slowly but surely is using the ropes to get up, and here's Austin trying to find a way up and Cena is miraculously starting to move. Austin however goes to the outside and picks up a chair and the Rock follows suit and gets a chair of his own. Both guys come back in the ring, chairs in hand, and their weapons meet with equal force that sends both guys back. Austin says forget the chair and tries to hit Rock with a Stunner but it's countered again and into the Rock Bottom! But as Rock gets up he is quickly met with an Attitude Adjustment! 1-2-3 and the Rock is finally gone! The crowd is somehow able to cause a bigger tremor than before with a tremendous ovation!
It's down to Austin and Cena. The face of the Attiude Era vs the face of the PG Era (I hate the name but it's got to be called something). Both guys began to get up and the crowd must be cheering just for the tremendous will and stamina of both men. This match has been going on for 45 minutes now. Cena and Austin are know staring each other down. There are no flashbacks but the moment of this dream match finally happening is something that will be looked upon even decades from now. Just to put it in persepctive, you've had Andre/Hogan, Hogan/Warrior, Hart/Michaels, Micheals/Austin, Austin/Rock, Hogan/Rock, Michaels/Taker, now Austin/Cena. As expected, Austin is talking trash and Cena gives him the "You Can't See Me!" which prompts Austin to give him the double birds and the first punch is thrown. A tradeback in punches is somehow met with even a bigger ovation as the crowd has came at least over 10 times in this match each bigger than before. Austin gets the upperhand b/c nobody can throwdown like the Bionic Redneck and he whips Cena into the ropes and connects with the Lou Thesz press. Austin gets up and you can tell that he is fired up! He bounces off the ropes and hits the elbow drop. Austin is now waiting to hit the Stunner. As Cena gets up, the kick connects! but Cena pushes Austin off of him and as Austin turns around he's met with a shoulder block! Another shoulder block! Missed hit attempt and the Protoplex! Cena is on that other level as he signals for the Five Knuckle Shuffle! "You Can't See Me" again and bounces off the ropes, dusts off the shoulder, and the punch connects. OH! Cena is pumping up the shoes for good measure, Austin is up and turns around and Cena lifts him off his shoulders and the AA connects! It's about academic at this point as it's all over! 1!-2!-3!....Wait no!....Austin kicks out at 2 and 7/8ths! How did he do that?! Cena has a look of disbelief and fustration. He picks up Austin again for another AA but Austin fights out of it this time and it's a Stunner! Oh my god what a Stunner! Austin is now looking to end this as it's 1!-2!-No! Cena does the suprising kick out this time! These two men are clearly in a class of their own! Austin now has the look of "What does he have to do to win?" There may be no winner as neither man doesn't know the word quit or to give up. We may have a draw here. Austin doesn't want that outcome as he's telling Cena to get up for another Stunner. Cena turns around but he must have saw it coming as he grabs the leg sends Austin down and the STF is locked on! Austin has that same look on his face that he had against Bret Hart at WM 13! He refuses to tap out but he can't break out of the hold! Either way, Cena may claim victory in matter of moments! Cena is relentlessly pulling back on the submission as if his life depended on a victory. Wait a minute!, Austin is actually moving towards the ropes! You've got to be kidding me! Living up to the name of "The Toughest S.O.B in the WWE", Austin is finding a way to reach deep down inside and gather the energy to reach the ropes and break this furious STF of Cena. It's a battle of wills as who will give out first: Austin's Resolve or Cena's Pressure? And it's Austin finally grabbing the ropes to the disbelief of Cena and the crowd! How can this match still be continuing after all of this?! That may have broke Cena's psyche b/c he is now just lying on the mat next to Austin with a blank look on his face. Cena finally gets up and picks up Austin if for nothing more than to do something other than wait for a 10 count. As he picks the Rattlesnake up, another Stunner to the Champ connects! It's finally over now, Austin has somehow done it again! He slowly makes his way to pin Cena. And 1!-2!-3! Wait NO!!!!!!!!! Cena actually has his foot on the bottom rope! NO FREAKING WAY!!!! I must be dreaming b/c this match has to be over!!!!! It just has to be!!!!! Folks, you're experiencing a once in a lifetime match as this is beyond the scale of greatness and has reached the highest point of epic. The 10 count is on as both men are still down after such a grueling match and I doubt either guy has anything left at this point. If one of them somehow makes it to his feet before the count, then he will without a doubt be the winner. The ref is a count a 7 and Austin is moving! Austin is going to win! The ref is at a 8 and wait Cena is moving! OH MY GOD! Both guys are getting up and they're up right before the ref hits 10! If there are people out there right now who isn't watching this match, then they have been cursed with horrible luck right now. Austin and Cena just stare at each other and they say forget it and the punches are being traded again! Austin finally gets the upperhand and here's a Stunner! No wait! Cena picks him up from the Stunner hold, hoists him on his shoulders, and it's the AA! Amazing! 1!-2!-3!
YES!, It is over! John Cena has won the match! He is now the new Undisputed Champion of the WWE! The fans are going crazy right now and we might have enough noise to cause an earthquake! As the Champ slowly makes his way up to his feet, you have to say that there really is no answer to who is the biggest star as all 4 guys have had equally impressive careers in and out of the ring and are truly the best at what they do. But on this night, Cena was better than the rest! As he accepts his newly won title, here comes Austin, to congratulate him and presents him with a beer. The cans clash and both guys go their seperate ways as this has been an amazing night and an amazing match that ends with the Champ, John Cena as the victor and the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World!
I see the Natural didn't go as quite as detailed as me and naturally got his before mine so go with his match. Whew! That was fun to type actually.
