The WrestleZone Tournament Has Begun

:lmao: I'm begging the Edge/Hogan match-up to be a ladder match so the truly naive will vote Edge because 'Hogan can't climb a ladder'. I'm not afraid to say that's the only chance Edge has - is stupidity votes.

I'll give you a chance, but you're REALLY going to have to sell me on it.

That's all I ask for.

I really hope that when the polls are posted up that people don't go rushing to vote for Rocky without having read the arguments first.

Like I said, it's going to be tough, but hopefully Savage will pull through and face either Hart or Cena. If it's Hart he's facing, then he should be the winner of the region.

Wow, Shawn may be gone now that he has to face the Rabid Wolverine same to Taker against Angle. Austin vs Vader should be good same as Goldberg vs Sting (can't believe Goldberg got this far). Cena vs Hart may be the most intriguing match in this round.

I said the same thing to JGKY (who's viewing this thread right now actually). Goldberg has beaten Sting back when he really was "The Man" in WCW. The only thing that would hurt him is the gimmick draw.

Edge vs. Hogan in a TLC match. Hogan can't catch a break in gimmick matches to save his life.

There's no reason Hogan can't win that match, but the blind ignorance (well Edge has earned his ladder match rep) will kill him.

I admit, I LOL'd when I read the gimmick.

Still, you'd be surprised how much hatred this forum and it's inhabitants can carry over from Edge's run two years ago. Hogan has a better shot at winning this match than he ever would if it was against Hardy, or anyone else equally known for ladders.. solely due to the hatred Edge has on this forum. lol

If nothing else, it'll be interesting to see what type of defense Hogan supporters can give him in claiming he can win this match. I mean, I get that he can climb - but still.

I swear I didn't rig that either. he's just up against the master of the TLC match in Canada.

I see you got my PM.

No way in terms of kayfabe Edge would ever beat Hogan in a TLC match. Edge lost to Cena (who is this era's Hogan but not as good) in a TLC match.

I can completely agree with that, by terms of Cena being this era's Hogan. However, on that note - that makes Edge credible by way of saying he could beat Hogan and there is a very real chance; since he's defeated "this era's Hogan" several different times.

The biggest argument anyone has ever played for Hogan is that because he built the industry (to a degree) and was a figure head for several years - that makes him untouchable. But in truth, that's wrong. He's been beaten by several lesser talented individuals.

I fully expect Edge to win. I'm making it like the Piper/Hogan match, I don't want it to end in a squash so trying to make some sort of argument to get a few votes to make it even.

Wait though, are you backing Edge? Because I strongly feel you're under-estimating the power of hatred. :lmao: Edge is going to fall by double digit votes the moment the poll opens.

Yes but Cena isn't as good as Hogan and Edge never beat Cena in a TLC match which is what this is.

Actually I'm pretty sure the only people who beat Hogan (not by count out or dq) in his true prime were Warrior, Taker, and Yokozuna. And the Yoko win came when Hogan was on his way out of the WWF.

I actually enjoy both Edge and Hogan, so I don't care either way. I enjoy all the guys left to be honest.

Speaking as a fan, and not biased completely toward Edge.. a potential Steve Austin/Hogan showdown has me curious which guy is overrated more. (I'm sure that'll attract a lot of negative reaction toward me, but it would literally be a dream match-up for me.. for all the wrong reasons. It basically means, one of them MUST lose.)

Although, I have to say - if Edge can move on, which even as the arguable most die-hard Edge fan, I have my doubts here. And Vader can top Austin, which is unlikely as well, but still possible.. Vader could have an easy path in the final 8.

I'm thinking Hogan this round. Edge is my favorite wrestler, but Hogan in his prime really only lost by getting screwed. It'll be nearly impossible to screw Hogan out of a victory in a TLC match, because even if someone interferes on Edge's behalf, one of the many friends Hogan made over his career would just help out the Hulkster.

I'm gearing up for the Savage-Rock feud. It'll be hard fought, but I want to see Savage go through badly.

I think the longest match Steve Austin had was 3 Stages of Hell at 39 minutes ( a match Austin lost, and was spent btw). I'm not sure where this full blown Austin has the cardio advantage is coming from. Now I'm not a Vader reference guide like IC, but can someone dig up the longest Vader match out there.

Well, my post for Randy Savage vs. The Rock is up. I worked hard on it so I hope it gets some people to vote for Savage.
