The Worst Return Ever?

Ruthless-RKO

F*ck Friends, Rather die wiv ma AK!
Either from an injury or taking time off, what would you say was the worst return ever?

I want to point out how Christians return to thw WWECW was just crap!! I don't blame him, I blame the commentary, they just did no sell it..

Also, Triple H in 2007, the build was good, how it was King Bookah vs. King of Kings, but it just wasn't that good.. Also Trips return and ending his rivalry with Sheamus by knocking him senseless..

What would you say??

the return of animal to wcw in 2001 was pretty shitty, macho mans return to help flair win the presidency from bischoff was cool at first but ended up being lame because he didnt actually come back for like 4 or 5 months after that, cant think of anymore off the top of my head...ill check back later with some more...o yeah hogan coming into tna was lame, same with flair, the two greatest of all time...they needed to just retire with some dignity left yknow/??

D' Lo brown to wwe around 2007 or 8, i just came baack from vacation so i havnt watch wwe in months, it was monday i turn on raw and i see d'lo brown, i was happy because im an attitude baby and i remember him from Nation Of Domination, and then about less then a week later i find out hes released

doesn't anybody remember Chris Benoit's return from surgery in 2002? Dreadful! When he went out he was pretty much the top face along with Jericho, had an awesome series of matches against Jericho, Austin & HHH not to mention with Jericho against the aforementioned two and the rest of the tag teams of the WWE. You would of thought they would have given him the works like they did HHH. Video packages, big build up. They brought him out randomly on a normal sub standard episode of RAW, and instead of building him up for a few months as an over face (which he was) they turned him heel that night, for no reason I might add, and left him dwindling with nothing to do until the smackDOWN six took over in the fall. Rubbish.

john morrison this year coming back for one day, only to find him just before his match lying flat on his back backstage and being injured again

I found that to be pretty interesting. It got a huge pop when he appeared on the screen and to receive that pop whilst stood next to Stone Cold is a big deal. It showed that the fans are interested to see him, interested in seeing him get his revenge on R-Truth and now he is 100% the feud can now happen. It really gave the feud more fuel. Kayfabe-wise, Truth didn't just injure Morrison, he reinjured him and set his career back months longer than it needed to be. Because of that, Morrison's return could be huge for him and that one angle will have been very important.

Chris Masters coming back to the company was cool, but the way he returned was just sad. He just showed up and no one, I mean no one cared. You could hear a pin drop in the arena. I know he wasn't a big name wrestler, but he was well known some what in the past, and his actual debut was pretty neat. Had a great entrance.

Just joking it is
1.Triple H returns against booker t at SummerSlam and returns to face Taker at WM 27 cuz he was supposed to be against sheamus but randomly face Taker

The way Jericho returned in 2007 was terrible. The did the cryptic messages for months. It was one of the best marketing things they had done in a long time. Finally the big night arrives, and minutes before the clock counts down they show him standing over somebody in the back. Why the fuck couldn't they just wait two minutes and have him be seen for the first time in the arena. The pop died a lot because everyone in the arena already knew it was him. Just stupid.

My vote goes for Warrior's last run in WCW in the late 90's (was it his only time in WCW?). I remember Warrior first showed up on an episode of Nitro. If you were reading the wrestling news online (or perhaps calling the hotlines?), you knew that Warrior was in talks with Bischoff about having "one last run" with WCW. On an episode of Thunder (the last episode before Warrior's appearance on Nitro), I remember the camera focusing on two skinny teenagers in Warrior-attire (facepaint, arm-tassles, etc)...I also remember seeing on a wrestling website that those two were plants by Bischoff.

When Warrior made his debut, he came out and gave a horribly long-winded promo directed at Bischoff & Hogan (this was during the nWo days). He didn't really make any sense at all, I believe this fiasco is mentioned on one of the WCW DVDs that WWE released as well.

Needless to say, we didn't see Warrior do much of anything. He really just "stalked" Hogan, by hiding in the rafters (carbon-copied from Sting's old angle). He also gave backstage promos about the OwN (One Warrior Nation, which was also "nWo" backwards).

The entire return lead up to a RIDICULOUS match between Hogan & Warrior. I know you guys know all about the "fireball" incident with the flash-paper, so I won't even bother explaining how bad the entire match was.

I remember hearing that Warrior was somewhat injured during this entire WCW run, and that's why he barely ever took off his white trench coat. I didn't order the PPV that featured the match between Hogan & Warrior, so all I remember seeing was Warrior doing a lot of clotheslines on television...and the nWo (especially Hogan) being "terrified" of him! LOL, so dumb.

WORST RETURN EVER, and that's saying something...because Warrior had a LOT of bad returns. I'm surprised no one else mentioned Warrior at all yet.

:angry:undertaker this year before mania!!! though it was going to be him and sting what a waste of time!!!!! false HOPE:angry::angry:

Thats what you get for being a fucking idiot.

I always enjoy returns...but I hated when Dwayne Gill returned to be the surprise entrant in the 1998 Survivor Series tourney. That just pissed me off. He was a joke, and I get that was the point, but there were better choices than Gill for that.

Id have to put it between Ultimate Warrior vs HHH at Wrestlemania or Mr.Kennedy's return to raw. Kennedy was there for one night and recieved a good pop and was suddenly released. Great return but the sudden release was just bullshit. Damn u orton. Wasted talent

I'd have to agree with this one. Also unfortunate was that once he returned he was pushed to the main event and had a terrible losing streak, followed by upper midcard status with another losing streak.

Actually they did sell it quite well up till Mat Striker said things just got instantly classic which was Christian's "nickname" in TNA. My guess is that the headphones exploded with all of Vince's screaming.

I'm going to go with Christian coming back to ECW also. The announcers aren't excited in the slightest and they almost seem annoyed that he's there. All they say is "oh it's Christian", almost like your cousin that you see at the family reunion that you have to pretend to like because his dad's your uncle. Just totally weak and no one seemed to care at all.

They sold it like shit right when Todd Grisham said "It's,It's Christian" like a ****** and that was the first line. Christian was so awesome but his return was fucked up because of the commentary

haha somebody made a post that reminded me of a shitty return, kevin nash returns as an active wrestler and tears his f*ckin quad first match back on the first move lol

They did all that you'd expect from a current wwe announce team. I still stand by my statement that Striker said something he shouldn't have. From the moment he says the moment is instantly classic the commentry becomes a series of pauses.

Any time Taker gets BURIED ALIVE!!!!!!!!! They sell it like he's dead and he is generally back in time for Wrestlemania, I'm more annoyed with same rehashed bury and return storyline year after year than his actual return because we all know the routine by now.

I've gotta agree with TUFFY on that.

I'm also gonna throw out Austin in 2002. This is when he returned as the free agent during the draft. Obviously Austin was on his last legs, but I just felt he wasn't used (and possibly couldn't be used) in the right way at that point. He didn't need to be there and it was the only time Austin was a waste of space, along with that whole Austin vs Flair thing they did at the time. It was appalling.

Also, Mr. Perfect's return in 2002. I was marking out so hard at the 2002 Rumble and then he just drifted into obscurity. He could definitley still go at the time and I was hoping they were at least going to put him into some serious world title contention (even if they didn't give him the strap), because he threw out such good matches time after time in my opinion.

There are other returns from around that time, such as the Big Bossman that I could mention for being disappointing, sad and really unnessicary, but I doubt I even need to get into those ones.

his first night back he attacked austin, whom he was in the middle of a feud against along side jericho when he got hurt. remember, his last match before he was out was the triple threat match against jericho and austin at king of the ring that year. i do agree that the return could've happend better, but i just wanted to point out that there was some reasoning behind who he attacked when he returned

Animal being Flair's mystery man when he returned to WCW in 2001 was horse shit. I suppose the angle was slightly cocked up by Sid snapping his leg in half during the match in which Animal was supposed to be the surprise 4th man. But he came out dressed like a moron and got pretty much no reaction.

Christians return was such a load of crap putting the announcing aside, the real reason it was crap was because it was on WWE's ECW at a point where there was nothing on that brand worth watching. He was a top guy in TNA resigns with WWE and gets smacked in the face by getting put on there number 3 show .

BUT! . . . thats just my opinion

Triple H returning and taking all the heat off Punk and Cena and putting it on himself. Seriously they were doing fine on their own without being buried on the mic by the real most over rated wrestler ever in Triple H. The only mic work Trips knows is to bury everyone and make them look like shit with his shooty comments. It was nice to see Punk give him some of his own medicine, but in the end it'll be Punk looking weaker than Crips count on it.
