Getting Noticed By Management
Fooled you didn't I? In all seriousness I've been getting back big into some Trip Hop with the discovery of some new artists that I had previously not heard of. For those that don't know, Trip Hop is a crazy mix of a lot of genres, ranging from electronic music, R&B, and hip hop. The genre itself is difficult to really pin down as one specific genre or the other, as the artists within Trip Hop have their own take on Trip Hop but using a down tempo is prevalent within all of their music.
So with that in mind, I want to open the thread up, make some suggestions etc, you know the drill. I would start with the likes of Portishead or Massive Attack, but those two are so well known I'll let someone else handle it. Instead I"ll start with a new artist I found, which really they aren't even new per say.
Morcheeba - Damn, how the hell did I miss them? Female vocals with some dope beats plus some real chill vibe = outstanding. Morcheeba has a lot of folk and pop influences mixed in with the usual trip hop sound, which ends up making them unique. The first album of theirs I heard was "Blood Like Lemonade" which is actually the newest album they've released. Reading into it here their album "Big Calm" is arguably their best to date and considered a trip hop classic. I would recommend "Blood Like Lemonade" if you enjoy some real chill music. It reminds me almost of sitting back with a joint in hand and just letting the cool night vibes run through your body. Definitely check it out.
By all means, if you're into trip hop, share some of your favorite artists here and we can discuss said artists.
