I just went back and read the first few pages of this gargantuan thread and realised that we all may be slightly psychic. Seriously, read like, the first 50 posts. I predicted some good seasons for Tottenham and that Modric would be the quality. Then, Phoenix predicted that a Dave would be the next PM, waaaaay before Cameron was standing. Scary!

USA are decent... But if they end up facing any of the truly top rate teams, Spain, Argentina, Brazil, maybe Italy depending on their form, they are utterly screwed. But if their path is as easy as you say, Lee.... Then they just might be the cinderella story of this tournament. USA as a cinderella story.... Irony is funny that way.

Yeah, I agree.

The USA have some really good players in Donovan, Dempsey and Adu. However, I don't really see them getting past the second round, if they even get that far. I haven't looked to see who they could get but I just don't get the feeling that the USA will get that far against any team with any sort of quality.

Agreed, I haven't watched a lot of football in past years time, and especially not anything that isn't Danish or European champion's league, cause that's all we get.

But I remember playing Football manager 2007, buying Adu for under a million DKK, then in 2008 the guy was worth 24 million DKK, not that I trust that game to tell me who's who of the world's talent, but they seem pretty damn good at putting a price on the talents based on what they truly are worth.

They'll beat England, and thus win the group, then will have Australia and then either Nigeria or France/Mexico/SA or Uruguay. That then puts them to the semi finals, and the American fortitude will go into play. Rather easy run to say the least.
