Sins of The Father
Locking horns with his brother, The Undertaker, inside the chaotic confines of Hell in a Cell, World Heavyweight Champion Kane emerged from Satan’s Structure with his coveted “holy grail” after Paul Bearer turned on The Phenom. In a pre-match interview with Josh Mathews, the returning “Father of Destruction” explained that he’s been spending the past six years biding his time and “waiting for the time” to make his presence felt. Indeed, Bearer made an impact at Hell in a Cell – but not in the way The Undertaker had anticipated. In this epic encounter, which shook the very foundation of Dallas’ American Airlines Center, Kane seemed to gain the upper hand when he successfully reversed The Undertaker’s Tombstone Piledriver into a vicious Tombstone of his own. However, scoring only a two-count, The Big Red Monster went into a rage, knocking out the referee and prompting WWE officials to open the structure and tend to him. Bearer entered the open door during the confusion, and following a brief altercation with Kane, he used the mysterious incandescence of The Undertaker’s urn to weaken The Phenom. Bearer then handed his son the infamous vessel, which he then used as a weapon against The Deadman. One ring-rattling chokeslam later, Kane walked out of Hell in a Cell still the World Heavyweight Champion, his devious father by his side. Kane’s victory inside the Devil’s Playground brings his storied rivalry with his brother full-circle. It was during the very first Hell in a Cell Match at Bad Blood 1997 when Kane – brought into WWE by his father – tore the door off the two-ton steel structure to deliver a history-changing Tombstone to his half-brother. At Hell in a Cell, 13 years later, “The Father of Destruction” and “The Devil’s Favorite Demon” joined forces once again, uniting under a common goal: To decimate The Deadman.

Spearing "stupidity"
At Hell in a Cell, Edge continued his one-Superstar battle against “stupidity,” humiliating Alberto Del Rio and defeating former World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger. Del Rio arrived at his first pay-per-view in style, cruising into the American Airlines Center in a shiny, new Rolls Royce. The smiling Superstar wasted no time bragging to the WWE Universe about injuring Rey Mysterio and Christian in recent weeks and expounding at great length as to why he is better than everyone else. It wasn’t long before Edge had heard enough from the aristocratic Superstar. Just two days after returning to SmackDown and Spearing Swagger’s personal mascot, “The Swagger Soaring Eagle,” The Ultimate Opportunist interrupted Del Rio’s enthusiastic tribute to himself in order to take another stand against something he considered “stupid.” Still angry over Edge’s actions on Friday night, Swagger joined the fray and things quickly turned volatile. Before the dust could clear, Monday Night Raw’s anonymous General Manager intervened. Via an e-mail read by announcer Michael Cole, the unknown Monday night authority informed Edge that he will make a live, in-ring apology to him on Raw. He then declared that The Rated-R Superstar would face “The All-American American” immediately in an impromptu match. Despite an intense effort by Swagger – who tried desperately to overcome his opponent with his infamous ankle lock – the nine-time World Champion roared back, blasting the two-time All-American’s hopes for victory with an earth-shattering Spear.

Keeping their (Lay)Cool
Self-professed “co-Unified Divas Champions” Lay-Cool dodged a major disaster inside the American Airlines Center when Layla intentionally got Michelle McCool disqualified in order to retain the title. At the end of a hard-fought contest, though Lay-Cool left Hell in a Cell with the title, they learned Natalya is a true threat to their “Flawless” championship reign. It was a desperate move by Layla to save her co-champion, and give Natalya the win, but it was also a smart decision ensuring that the Unified Divas Championship would remain in their possession. Lay-Cool has managed to defeat and outsmart nearly all of the Divas of SmackDown and Raw, but based on the events of Hell in a Cell, it appears they may have met their match in a member of the legendary Hart family. The Women’s Championship and the Divas Championship were unified at Night of Champions when then-“co-Women’s Champion” Michelle McCool battled Divas Champion Melina. With SmackDown and Raw Divas serving as lumberjills, Layla assisted Michelle in defeating Melina and making history by capturing the Unified Divas Title. Just one week later, Natalya outlasted Raw’s top femme fatales, including several former Divas Champions, in a Battle Royal to earn No.1 contendership and an opportunity at the new Unified Divas Championship. For Natalya and Michelle, this clash over the Divas Title has brought them full circle. At The Great American Bash in 2008, Michelle defeated Natalya to become the first-ever Divas Champion. But it has been two years since these sexy, smart and powerful women battled for a title, and Natalya has since become a much fiercer competitor than ever before. The third-generation Diva’s resolve and desire to win the title were put to the ultimate test at Hell in a Cell. Two years after first colliding with Michelle, this time it was Natalya who gained the upper hand and managed to capture her opponent in the Hart family’s patented Sharpshooter. Mere moments before Michelle could tap out, Layla came to her best friend’s rescue and got her partner intentionally disqualified by throwing her shoe at Natalya in order to salvage the title. Before Layla could escape the ring, Natalya also briefly trapped her in a Sharpshooter after the match. Layla's brash decision proved not only that Lay-Cool undoubtedly has each other’s backs, but also that Natalya may be their greatest foil to date.

A Hectic Move
Anarchy reigned on SmackDown’s live premiere on Syfy, as The Nexus invaded Friday night. And after the chaotic faction disrupted John Cena’s battle with World Heavyweight Champion Kane, The Undertaker delivered a pre-Hell in a Cell assault to his demented brother.
