The legendary duo from the Windy City, Joe Laurinatis and the late Michael Hegstrand are best know as "Road Warrior Animal" and "Road Warrior Hawk". The Legion Of Doom. The Road Warriors. Whatever you want to call them, they are know as the most influential tag team in professional wrestling history. The tandem of facepainted, musclebound brutes paved a wave of destruction through the AWA, NWA, WCW, WWF, NJPW, AJPW and many more. Hell, they even made a random appearance in 2003 in TNA.
Famous for their brutal intensity and their signature "Doomsday Device" finishing maneuver, they had memorable feuds with other legends of the business including The Four Horsemen, The Hart Foundation, Demolition, The Midnight Express, Magnum T.A., Kevin Sullivan, Cactus Jack, Sting, Lex Luger, The Nasty Boys and on and on and on. The list is quite endless. As is their list of accolades. NJPW, AJPW, NWA, AWA and WWF Tag Team Champions, winning a variety of tournaments in Japan, the U.S. and Mexico. Inductions into 5 different Halls of Fame.
Through out their run, they've had to switch their line up and their names, adopt managers, with Paul Ellering being the most well known and sharing several of their HOF inductions. However at the end of the day, the names of Hawk and Animal, The Road Warriors are immortalized in the minds of every wrestling fan.

Did You Know?
- The overall gimmick and look of the Road Warriors pretty much overshadows the very inspiration of the duo. They're named and modeled after the "road warriors" from the Mad Max franchise. Similar shoulder pads, similar attitudes, all badass. With the new Mad Max movie coming out, we might see these characters pull a Doomsday Device.
- Duke "The Dumpster" Drozdov, Kensuke Sasaki and Heidenreich have all switched up the line up the legendary tandem with Sasaki replacing Animal when Hawk wrestled in NJPW. Droz and Heidenreich replace Hawk. Droz when Hawk was having alcoholism issues and Heidereich after Hawk's passing.
- Besides their standard name, the Road Warriors have also been known as "The Legion Of Doom" in the WWF and "The Hell Raisers" in NJPW. They also used Ozzy Osbourne's "Iron Man" as their theme in NWA/WCW and "Hell Raiser" in NJPW to fit their name.
