Pelini is very good at finding the right guys for his schemes and putting them into better positions to succeed. and they DAMN sure will not lack toughness and tackling skills like they did last year. Nope. WVU still has Pat White, and Noel Devine. and they whupped Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl. PITT did have a very good recruiting class though.
Devine is in so much shit, its ridiculous. Pitt returns 7 defensive players, the same defense that held WVU to like 182 yds. They also return Shady McCoy, and they get their QB back this yr, that was injured like all of last yr.They've been a beast at recruiting, and they have had a very good recruiting class. if they don't win the big east it will be a big disappointment.
Callahan brought this west coast offense in, and thats ALL he focused on. I think in 2005 they had one of the best defenses not sure, but after that he forgot that they had a defense, and one with as much history as the blackshirts. He improved the offense, joe ganz will be a beast next year, but damnit the defense was so watered down. Now that Pelini is in, defensive mind thank God. Look at LSU's defenses, exactly. Defense wins championships

And you know Pelini can recruit the shit outta the south, namely louisiana, texas and florida. And he brings an overall better attitude to the program. Bill Callahan is a fuckin clown, and his defense, if not whole team, quit on him. Pelini, along with Tom osbourne, carry a lot of clout walking into the homes of recruits. Big Red shall rise again.
how, they return 7 highly recruited players. The nations leading tackler returns, plus they have filled needs. There coach hasn't shown that he could coach a full season, and Pat White is mediocre, if you make him pass they can't win. Plus Stoops is a choke as a head coach in big games.
They recruited a stud at receiver, plus some athletes, their oline will still be manly, and that defense played well at the end of the yr, plus now they have college experience.

I read on an article on espn that Callahan had the head coaching floor with all security and pretty much blocked off. To see him you had to go through a metal detector and a search sometimes, ridiculous. Then it said Pelini got rid of all that bullcrap and met with players, like an open door policy. Alot of players said other than the football field, they hardly EVER saw Callahan. And while Pelini was finishing his duties at LSU, Osbourne was doing some recruiting himself, so thats nothing but GREAT news. Now Pelini doing recruiting, sky's the limit
