The Pointless Thread

No, Jalen Rose was not better that Chamberlin, obviously.
But Jalen Rose has the better skill set. Can dribble better, can shoot better, is faster, is quicker, and shoots free throws better.

With the better skill set, he MUST be better than Chamberlain.

Hansbrough may be able to take over a game, but not in the manner of a Rose or Beasley, because he still needs people to set him up with the ball.
Except that people rarely set Tyler up with the ball. Most of his domination comes through incredible work and will.

I mean, how often do you see a play run for Hansbrough? How often do you see Ty Lawson through Tyler the ball? Tyler works for what he gets.

Chamberlain was differnt because of his size, he was way bigger than everybody else. Hansbrough isn't that big, so no he cant dominate a game like Chamberlain.
Oh, I see, SIZE is the only way for someone to dominate a basketball game as a post player.

Someone should have told Charles Barkley.

Wait did you just compare Wilt Chamberlain to Tyler Hansbrough?
It was an example of how your theory fails.

Justin, you didn't mention how what I said was flame-baiting. Is that you agreeing that it wasn't?

I never said you were flame-baiting me, I just said you were flame-baiting, there was no need to just come in and start mocking everyone cause they were talking about the NHL playoffs...and you were mocking

Besides, what I said was that people are talking hockey with the NCAA Championships tonight and that hockey is less popular than a child's program.

I was talking abut hockey cause the playoffs start this week, if you wanted to talk about the NCAA championship then just bring it up, no need to be a dick about it, and because a children's program is more popular than Hockey that means we can't watch it and talk about it? what is your point?

But, I suppose since you don't like the NCAA basketball tournament, I'm not allowed to talk about it without you mocking me, cause apparently you are incapable of ignoring the conversation, right?

I didn't say you weren't allowed to talk about it, you said you Hockey didn't appael to you so I said Basketball doesn't appeal to me

That sounds a little paranoid to me, Justin...
huh?!, no not really just stating a fact

And the only time I ever said you were flame-baiting me was when you were trolling my posts

trolling your posts?!?:lmao:, please like I have nothing better to do than follow you around these forums all day:rolleyes:

saying I was a liar and that everything I posted was bullshit.

When have I ever done that, in a non-sarcastic manner?, please don't tell me you actually take the shit I say in the bar room serious

So, not really sure who you're addressing that comment to, but it sounds as if you have such hostility you need to direct at someone else.

Just an observation, seems certain people on this board always call flame-bait when ever some disagrees with them, or responds to them in a sarcastic manner, and I just find it funny that those same people flame-bait just as much if not more

Well Charles Barkley never won any championships did he? And that is the point with Chamberlain, he dominated his era because he was so much bigger than everybody else. Hansbrough is a good big man, but what makes him better than say Brooks Lopez? The only thing would be his hustle, which is great, but hustle doesn't make him a great player, that only gets you so far.

I never said anything about you. I asked how it was flame-baiting.

And again, I never mocked anyone.

The point is that hockey is boring, and a historical night will occur in only a few hours.

huh?!, no not really just stating a fact
Don't tell me how to think.

I think it sounds paranoid.

trolling your posts?!?:lmao:, please like I have nothing better to do than follow you around these forums all day:rolleyes:
Would you like me to go back and show you? I mean, surely you can remember, but I'm more than happy to show the numerous times you called me a liar and called my posts bullshit.

When have I ever done that, in a non-sarcastic manner?, please don't tell me you actually take the shit I say in the bar room serious
HAHAHA

I love how fast you backtrack.

See, apparently, when other people "flame-bait" they're nothing but serious, but when you do it, it's all sarcastic, for fun, and not real. You crack me up.

Just an observation, seems certain people on this board always call flame-bait when ever some disagrees with them, or responds to them in a sarcastic manner, and I just find it funny that those same people flame-bait just as much if not more
Oh, the irony....

Well Charles Barkley never won any championships did he?
Neither has Beasely. In fact, how many Final Fours has he been to?

Hansbrough is a good big man, but what makes him better than say Brooks Lopez? The only thing would be his hustle, which is great, but hustle doesn't make him a great player, that only gets you so far.
Again, I dare you to play and/or coach against him, and then tell me that.

Trust me, it's not just in college that he's appeared that way. He looked the same in high school as well.

What is the difference between Durant last year and Beasley this year?
Tyler Hansbroughs contributions and stats.

Well this is how I put it, Beasley=26points and 12 rebounds in his freshman season
Hansbrough=23points and 10 rebounds in his junior year. Do the old blind test, who had a better year?

Like I said, numbers don't tell the whole story.

Hansbroughs team only lost 3 games all year, he never was passed the ball, and still put up gaudy numbers. He took his team to the Final Four, and dominated the post area all year long, despite every attempt to stop him.

Tyler Hansbrough = Player of the Year.

If you were to switch Beasely and Hansbrough places, Beasley would not put up the same number he did at K-State, but Hansbrough WOULD put up the same numbers he did at UNC, if not more.

1 Beasley has zero, but he only had one chance at it. How long did Barkley play for, mark my words, Beasley will win a title in the NBA. How many does titles does Hansbrough have?

2. What will coaching/playing against him prove, he has passion, tries really hard every play, that doesn't make him the best player in the country. If I were coaching against UNC I would coach to stop Lawson because if you stop him, you can beat UNC. Evidence from there losses this year, he didn't play in two of them and got shut down by Kansas in the third.

Beasley would put up numbers just as good as Hansbrough did at UNC, he would have been best scorer and rebounder on the team still. It doesn't matter were you play, if you are the most talented/best player on the court each and every night, which Beasley is no matter who he is facing, you will put up gaudy numbers.

But, you're just defeating your own point now.

2. What will coaching/playing against him prove
That he's incredibly skilled and able, and not near as lucky or fortunate as you portray him to be.

If I were coaching against UNC I would coach to stop Lawson because if you stop him, you can beat UNC. Evidence from there losses this year, he didn't play in two of them and got shut down by Kansas in the third.
Take Tyler Hansbrough out and see how many losses UNC winds up with.

No, the quality of players, not to mention the shots taken by the players around him would change. His role on the team would change.

No one is saying that he's not a heck of a player, but your sole argument for him over Hansbrough is an average of 4 more points per game and 2 rebounds per game. Stats that are easily manipulated based upon skill around them.

Take Beasley out of Kansas State and see were they end up. UNC would have still made the tourny and probably have gotten to the Sweet Sixteen at least, they have alot of talent on there team. Take Beasley away from Kansas St. and they dont even qualify for the NIT, hell they wouldn't qualify for the CBI or whatever that stupid thing was called.

Note: I think Hansbrough is a very good player, I dont think he is lucky, he has alot of skills, top five in the country, but not number one, that goes to Beasley!

And your sole argument is based on UNC having a better year than Kansas St. and having more talent, you cant say that that would make a difference or not because you will never see either of them playing in different situations in college.

You're confusing your own arguments now.

Well, every major Player of the Year award has disagreed with you thus far.

And my argument is that every single time Beasley stepped on the court, it was obvious he was the best player out there. I cant say that for Hansbrough, at times he didn't even look like the best player on his own team.

Okay that is enough of this, neither of our opinions will change, so why argue about it. They are both very good players, great players perhaps. This is why I said I wan't talking about the NCAA Tournament, to avoid going through this argument again.

That's a list of them. You can cross them all off except Finlay and Regal.
