The NXT Thread Is Like Ring of Honor's Bay-Bay!

Am I correct in inferring a) there won't be a London show and b) the Download show will be a Takeover? Because I find that nuts - in both a good way and a bad way.

Pretty sure they already announced the next Takeovers is in the first week of June at full sail.

Which, come on...at this point, if you must do an Orlando takeover it should be in the Amway Center.

Probably meaningless to you guys but I thought this was pretty cool.

The Download shows will be like the ones at the Arnold Classic, just an extra attraction.

3 of the 5 announced arenas are 10,000+ capacity. I'd have thought the Liverpool one would be the Takeover if there is one, but my suspicion is they'll just do a TV taping at one of them, perhaps Dublin if Balor is still champ.

Yeah, no London show is peculiar - I can only think that because there's a main roster special in September that they think they'll burn out that fan-base's enthusiasm/wallets.

Joe either needs to be called up or win the title because he deserves something for absolutely killing it in his role as monster. The visage of him covered with blood, murdering security and no-selling demons - awesome.

If I was Joe or Finn, I'd be fucking furious at the medics. And at Hunter for (presumably) sending them out.

Still though, great show. My first full Nakamura match. Pretty awesome.

Again, though I'm apparently in the minority, I don't think the stoppages hurt their match, which was even better than London.

I personally found it to be more marred by the bad finish than the stoppages, but personally the stoppages got to be excessive for me. If after the first one or two Joe had just blown past them and said fuck it, they might actually have helped. But it got to the point that you knew every big spot was about to be followed not by wrestling, but by medics, and that sucked. Really hurt their efforts to lay the groundwork for the match.

Not a bad match by any means, but for me I preferred London.

Did anyone else really frigging enjoy Corbin's showing? I've grown very attached to the character at this point. The butthurt guy who always gets passed over for indy geeks works supremely well in the present WWE culture, he's sort of an Anti-Bryan.

Aries exudes arrogance, which is great and he's full of charisma, but I find it hard to actually root for the guy, whereas Corbin - I almost feel like I know him and respect how hard he's been fighting for some recognition the last few months. Presumably it's a good sign that some of the crowd were also cheering for Corbin (not that Aries was getting a bad reaction himself). I actually loved the finish and it totally fits Corbin to lose matches like this. When he finally wins on his terms it will really mean something.

Corbin is probably one of the best pure heels in all of WWE right now. And he just keeps getting better. I hope he takes the title off Finn this summer.

I've said before that Corbin, on the mic, as a character, and in the ring, is exactly what Roman Reigns should be instead.

I had a good time with it. First match was outstanding. The rest were far from bad. It will probably be the best WWE show this weekend.

Love the face he makes when the lights come up. Like he's Jacqueline approaching a toll booth.

That pop Nakamura got was insane. The replay did not do it justice. That convention center was going nuts. Same for Balor.

So very glad that American Alpha picked up the win. Ticking the clock down before that main roster call up. This team better not be booked & wasted like The Ascension were. Could you imagine if they stayed that legit killer team from NXT & had a match with Gable\Jordan?

Problem with the Ascension is that their ring work was always kind of shit. Those guys were begging to be exposed at some point.

JBL didn't do them any favours either.

They've improved dramatically working D-shows. But Gable and Jordan clearly rock now and suffer from none of Ascension's flaws.

The only real risk is Vince looking right over Gable's head and seeing nothing but money in Jordan as a singles guy.

Well there is money in Jordan but I think there's plenty in Gable. As long he spots it in one, he can't be so blind to not see it in the other.

One thing about Swagsuke, the only taunt I liked was when he flung himself back on the ring ropes. Beyond that, it seemed like he being overly creepy and too deliberately weird. He'll need to cut down the strikes and throw suplexes or something. He seems to have too much about him to be Itami Mk II.
