The NXT Thread Is Like Ring of Honor's Bay-Bay!

Yea man, that's why those work rate-based matches and guys from NXT are really raising the decibel level on a weekly basis up there on the main roster.

I was just making the point that workrate has never been more important and the "smarkiness" ratio of the fans has never been higher. Ever. Yes there are still casuals and parents who buy tickets for their kids, but I thought NXT Brooklyn selling out 13,000+ based on a streaming service only show full of indy names was proof positive enough that the current WWE fanbase wants to see these kinds of matches and wrestlers.

The old days are dead baby. Evolution, it's how every business works.

And I mean, Daniel Bryan and Seth Rollins are two examples of guys who started with NXT and got over on the main roster, and never would have had any of those chances if it wasn't for their workrate, We also get 20 minute matches routinely on RAW which used to be a rarity only a few years ago, and although length does not equal quality, they're clearly willing to give the guys more time to work than ever before, because they have so much programming now.

So yes, I stand by everything I said. Well, I mean, except for the "overwhelming majority" part, that was an exaggeration, but still, the smark fanbase is just the regular fanbase now, this isn't the 90s. There are still casuals and kids and marks too. They're shrinking though.

Against the Irish or against demons?

Nah, I will give Balor credit when I feel he delivers a match that lives up to the hype. I hope it's in London.

Oh, and to clumsily reinsert myself into this Xfear/NorCal discussion: I feel longer matches on Raw are more likely the result of more time to fill than changing tastes in WWE's audience.

Not to burst Sam's bubble or anything but I haven't heard anything about him being ready to wrestle yet, I feel like it's most likely going to just be an appearance by him, not an actual match.

Then again I haven't caught NXT in about two weeks so they could have announced him wrestling and I could just be out of the loop.

Takeover: London is in two weeks and the card is mostly set. That leaves us with two shows to firm up the build, which means we could be in for some entertaining nights leading up to the next big show. The cliffhanger from last week saw Nia Jax throw her had in to the ring for the Women’s Title shot and Bayley doesn’t have an opponent for London yet. Let’s get to it.

I Believe In A Thing Called Joe

Really enjoyed this week's episode. Great wrestling, great feud development, cool vignettes, pretty much everything that happened had meaning on the road to London.

Besides the Storm match, this was one of my favorite episodes to date. Amazing how good keeping it simple and straightforward can be.

The women's division is going to be in a rebuild for a while imo, Bayley has nobody to really go with. So they'll probably have to go with story driven matches like we got last week with Eva Marie for a while.

So am I missing anything for London?
Joe v Balor
Enzo & Cass v Dash & Dawson
Bayley v Nia Jax
Crews v Corbin
And judging by tonight Vaudevillians v JJ & Gable
Asuka v Emma

Sami Zayn appearance?

I'd never really considered that Tye Dillinger has pretty much been a face after his match against Apollo Crews. That was a neat little match he had with Baron Corbin. While I'm not huge on either guy, I think Corbin/Crews is a dark horse of a match.

Are there any more Mad Jax doubters left after the brutal murder of Blue Pants this week? I don't know how you spin someone round by their neck like that without risking serious injury. I saw some cunt say Jax was worse than Eva Marie. "What a cunt," I thought.

When Enzo and Cass win the tag belts at London, I'm picking up the nearest person and throwing them at the ring like a fucking streamer.

Did anybody notice Jesse Sorensen last week? Did anybody mention him? Seeing James Storm just reminded me. More like NXTNA, eh?

Bayley getting thrown through a door is why Nia Jax is a very good thing for the women's division.

She'd be a better thing with different music. Why does every woman need a pop/R&B song, even a monster heel? There's nothing intimidating about that music.

Joe/Ciampa was ace last night, stiff as hell.
