The NXT Thread Is Like Ring of Honor's Bay-Bay!

With the comments he's been making recently I wouldn't be surprised one bit if he did finally sign with the WWE/NXT. Though in his case I'd want no more than a cup of coffee there before being called to the main roster, because unlike still admittedly great talents like Joe, he's performing some of the absolute best work of his entire career.

I dig that these types of guys are getting more looks because of NXT, but it'll also piss me off if they don't get called to the main roster, because as this Rollins injury has proved they BADLY need main event level depth and they just don't have it.

How mad could you be though if the brand continues to develop into America's 1A promotion and he is making decent money?? Would you really rather him go to the main roster and have Cena kick out of the styles clash, no sell any damage and pin Styles clean 8 seconds later?

No thanks. Let Styles be one of the main guys who carry NXT on their back as they continue to sell out 20k seat arenas for their big shows.

Although what Norcal said would be pretty cool, the chance to see Styles go at Cesaro, Owens & Rollins would be fucking sweet.

Maybe I'm just not as keen on NXT, but I'd much MUCH rather watch AJ on RAW every Monday getting decent time to work than wrestling one 15-20 minute match per month maybe and then one big match every 3 months on a special.

Besides, you never know who's going to get over and make the most of their opportunity, I know most people didn't think Daniel Bryan would even sniff the main event let alone become so popular they give him the title at Wrestlemania in a big moment. You never know man.

Yea, and they did it kicking and fucking screaming. Thats ONE PERSON who was an unprecedented phenomenon, vs how many people who are just being utterly wasted every week?

"BIG MATCH JEAWN DOES IT AGAIN BAH GAWD"

God, I fucking hear it and see it now. No thanks. Get him in front of great crowds who will aprreciate him and were he wont be wasted away in the upper mid card of doom.

I'd rather see him in NXT where he's got a creative team with a clue, rather than rushed to the main roster & be lost in the shuffle, Bryan & Punk where both a lot younger than Styles when they got called up the to the main roster & it took the years before Vince & Co. begrudgingly decided to give the fans what they wanted & pushed them to the main event, AJ is 38 he doesn't have years to spend lost in the mid-card shuffle. At least in NXT he'd be given great matches, & slightly lighter workload, & he'd be closer to his family. He could also transition into a trainer once his in ring career starts to wind down.

Yes, Yes, and yes. And more yes.

By come on down you do mean come on down to this box in an alley way where you will never, ever, EVER be allowed in a wrestling ring again, right?

Tell me neither of you actually want to see Brooke in the WWE. We were finally, slowly, begrudgingly, just barely starting to evolve the women's division past "hot bitches who can't wrestle to save their fucking lives" to actual quality wrestling. It's bad enough with the Bellas, Cameron, Eva Marie, Dana Brooke, and basically half the female roster but you want to add another person who can't wrestle for absolute shit but happens to have a nice ass?

So you're criticising someone in developmental for becoming a better wrestler? Give it some time, as others have said Sasha Banks, Charlotte and Bayley all sucked when they started. Plus have they really moved away from the hot bitches idea? Emma, Bliss, Bayley, Lynch, Banks, Brooke and the few new ones they've bought in from Australia and New Zealand are all attractive and would be considered out of the league of the average/slightly above average man.

Brie Bella & Eva Marie I will agree with you; both are talent vacuums.

However, Dana Brooke and now Cameron (allegedly at her own request) are in developmental so don't expect them to be Gods in the ring any time soon... although Dana has been improving & Cameron's first match in NXT wasn't that bad (even with being inside the ring with Asuka - she held her own somewhat). Nikki Bella has come along way. She may not be perfect in the ring but she's doing very well for herself.

... but back to point, as NorCal said Brooke is serviceable. Given how NXT works well with talent, Brooke could easily fit in there without a problem.

I didn't say anything about her becoming a better wrestler? I listed her as one of many currently useless talents wasting time on programming, and yes, she's one of them. I don't really care if she's just started, because there's literally a world of extremely talented female wrestlers (and yes, attractive ones) that NXT could be signing instead and giving that spot to, and the fans abso-fucking-lutely want to see talented female wrestlers more than they do people learning the ropes who are green as shit.

I'm not expecting them to be Gods or even good, I'm not expecting anything from them, I'm just pointing out that currently, they are fucking useless. NXT is barely a developmental anymore anyways as it's entire thing now is to sign big name long time veteran indy stars. Yeah they mix in a lot of new talent too, but atleast that talent knows how to properly perform a hip toss, something I've seen both Dana and Cameron fuck up more than once. There's giving a talent a chance to develop, and then there's just wasting your time on a pretty face who will never be anything. Does anyone actually think Dana Brooke or Cameron of all people are going to be anything other than the smallest of small footnotes in WWE history?

My only point is why the fuck should the WWE be wasting money and time signing someone they already had who did nothing for them, who hasn't shown any improvement in about a decade, when there are actual talented women on the indies that could be taking this spot. Asuka and some of the recent Australian signings have been great signings and is exactly the path the WWE should be going with their female division if they're serious about making women's wrestling serious, and they appear to be.

I kinda agree with X here, I'd rather WWE go sign people like Mia Yim (whenever her TNA contract is up), Candice LeRae, Cherry Bomb, etc. than people like Dana Brooke, Cameron or Tessmacher.

I like Tessmacher, she's hot and she's improved somewhat since she was last in WWE but I'd rather someone who can really go in the ring over her.

That I agree with, particularly because the fans will refuse to let it be anything else, but to put Dana Brooke in that category is ridiculous. She's clearly not just another pretty face either.

And on the point about going out and signing the best talents on the indies. That would/could involve indie talents wanting more money than the fresh no name talents. Plus you have a clean slate so they can teach them exactly what they want and not have to worry about the indie mindset creeping in. The wwe would have complete control over image rights, which is an issue they had with Owens and the continual use of the Kevin Steen image

I'd still disagree with that. Its less about developing talents from the ground up, thats more the live events that arent televised, but its definitely still about developing talents to be tv ready

It's definitely not the main function of the brand anymore, and hasn't been for almost a year now. The WWE gameplan is literally to sign big name indy talent so they can tour NXT and draw those big houses at the Takeover events. The developmental stuff is really all done off camera, backstage, working with the trainers. If it was still primarily about development, guys like Zayn, Owens, Balor, Joe, etc never would have been signed in the first place. And that's not a world I want to live in.

What? That's literally all she is. She's shown total ineptitude so far in the ring. The chances of her being hired if she wasn't gorgeous are exactly zero.

You have just described the business model they've been using to enormous failure for over a decade now. There's a reason no WWE fan has given a raging flying fuck about women's wrestling since Lita and Trish left, and it's because the women are abysmal in the ring. It's not even like Sasha Banks or Bayley are some elite-level workers either, but they're solid, and even that was enough to explode the popularity of women's wrestling in the WWE. So why the hell would you want to go backwards to signing more pretty faces with no experience or talent to speak of? So we can have another Ashley Massaro?

And money...lol, yeah, that's something the WWE is definitely worried about. They just threw more money at Del Rio than anyone not named Hulk Hogan made in WCW, land of the biggest contracts in wrestling history. Money is not even remotely an issue with signing indy talent, especially female indy talent which is absolutely cheaper than male talent to sign, fair or not.

I don't know why we're still discussing this, Brooke isn't going to be signed by the WWE unless she blows Vince or something.
