The NXT Thread Is Like Ring of Honor's Bay-Bay!

Soooooooooooooooo

According to Triple H's twitter, it appears the next Takeover is gonna be in.....

The Barclays Center in Brooklyn??? As in, the same Arena SummerSlam will be in the night after?

Not sure how this makes me feel. I think taking it out of the smaller, grungier venues will take some of the charm off it.

No, fuck it. Because the enthusiasm of myself and the rest of the NorthEastern contingent will be enough to maintain the atmosphere
I love it. Why use a second venue, second ring, second entrance, and all that, when everything is already set. Will some of the charm be lost, MAYBE. However hopefully the Brooklyn crowd will help with that. Not to mention just because they're using the same building they don't necessarily have to use the full building, they may close the upper bowl.

Oh, and by NorthEastern contingent you mean me. My ass is going to this event. Looking forward to it almost more than Summerslam.

The crowd and Cole on commentary took away from it a little bit, i think. Dont know if it was that crowd, the venue, the way it was mic'd up or japenese crowds as a whole but it was rather quiet throughout except for brief moments. Full Sail would have been making noise non-stop towards the end especially. Which could be a worrying sign for the next takeover, who knows maybe not.

Not sure what event you were watching.

Cole was better on commentary than a majority of shows he's done in recent memory. It was an excellent showing by Cole with Saxton by his side.

Also, the crowd was great. Half Japanese crowd with the clapping and the respect shown towards the wrestlers but half American crowd with the chants and noise they were making... if that makes sense.

It’s the show before the big title match in Tokyo and we actually have a main event announced in advance. This week’s big match is Samoa Joe/Finn Balor vs. Rhyno/Kevin Owens, which isn’t exactly what the champ should be doing but it makes sense given the story. I can’t imagine Owens is champion next week but I’ve been surprised before. Let’s get to it.

Well He's Gonna Do Something

I wonder if I could convince some people to make a road trip to Brooklyn with me for Takeover and Summerslam. VERY tempting.

I know she's green but Dana Brooke is still cringe worthy.

I also wish NXT had better tag teams. And I really wish English and Gotch would go back to the original theme that doesn't suck.

We have a new NXT Champion though we’re likely only going to hear about it in voiceovers as this is a taped show from a few weeks back. Finn Balor took the NXT Title from Kevin Owens in Tokyo on 4th of July and you know Owens is going to be gunning to get his title back. Other than that though, we have the Vaudevillains vs. Enzo/Cass for the #1 contendership. Let’s get to it.

Do We Have Proof He's A Human?

Gotta agree with Enzo and Cass not being #1 contenders for Brooklyn being a confusing move - granted, as KB said there is still time for them to be involved in the tag title match at the next Takeover.

They've been working triple threat tag matches on live events so more likely than not that's what will happen at Takeover. I completely agree it with it considering neither Enzo/Cass or Blake/Murphy put on that great of a match last time to begin with.

Seeing as there's a month until the show, I gotta believe the Villains lose to the Dubstep Cowboys and then Enzo and Cass finally win the straps at Brooklyn.

I was lukewarm on having Stephanie "I'm a massive fucking heel" McMahon formally introduce the ladies (although, to be fair, I'm not sure there's anything more badass than a formal introduction by management) but my eyeballs just about flew out of my head when The Boss threw Nikki Bella down. I had goosebumps when the NXT chants started.

It's a little heartbreaking that Bayley, the most important of the Four Horsewomen, isn't there, but her time will certainly come.

Bayley and Alexa are unfortunately now the only thing holding the NXT women's division together now that the rest are transitioning. Soon enough though we'll be stuck with the likes of Dana and Eve Marie...

Is Bayley injured? All the wrestlers I like get injured - a curse which nearly fucking paralysed Tyson Kidd.

She had a hand injury, but apparently wrestled in a soft cast this weekend.

The Aussie girls they used as jobbers the last round of tapings are good. I don't know how quickly they'll make them actual roster members though

Bayley, Emma, Alexa, Blue Pants, Carmella, Dana and Eva Marie is a strong mix of ability and character. Add in the Aussie girls and I have no worries about the future of the NXT Women's division.

Those of us who remember the pre-network days recall versions of Sasha Banks and Charolette who appeared to have no business anywere near a wrestling ring.

If the NXT Women's Division needs some more talent maybe it's time to get Candice LeRae and some others in there. Just start with Candice.
