The NXT Thread Is Like Ring of Honor's Bay-Bay!

FUCKIN A BROTHER!!!

Also, apparently Triple H wants NXT to be a three day a week touring brand by the end of this year.....and is also working on setting up international dates.

Owens is like Punk, Bryan, & Ambrose. He's a guy coming in with a ton of hype surrounding him & is a guy that can more than back it up. Those of us with a brain & our eyes open can see it & get it, those close minded jackasses that just want to call overrated clearly aren't paying attention & have just already made up their minds & refuse to see things differently. People simply falling back on the "He's fat" argument are just using a lazy argument that can easily be put to rest just with the mention of names like Vader, Bam Bam Bigelow, Dusty Rhodes, or Mick Foley.

WWE fans who don't watch NXT, i.e. the people in that thread who haven't seen any of Owens' body of work somehow, astound me, though I suppose there must be a lot of them. They're just not getting the most out of that Network subscription, are they?

I can't wait until Sami evens up the score and brutalises Owens tonight so that I can get back on board the Owens bandwagon. Maybe I'll even get one of those nifty t-shirts.

Only bloody nodded off, didn't I? Have a blood test in the morning so I'm fasting.

Watching the show now - I will not be spoiled - and up to the women's tag.

Breeze versus Balor was decent, but DOSE FUCKING ENTRANCES.

I felt let down last night, largely because I woke up in the middle of the night and chose watching the show over more sleep. The show just wasn't good enough to justify that poor decision. It was more of a show that I could've watched in the daytime and been fairly satisfied with.

Things started well: Breeze and Balor's entrances were both spectacular. Special event entrances and attires are always welcome - they give shows a unique feel - and this was no exception. Unfortunately, the match that followed was rather dull in comparison, occupying the same decent-not-great bracket that most of Balor's matches seem to.

The tag match had the wrong outcome, assuming Carmella will continue working as a face. Enzo getting in offence, and decent-looking offence at that, was a very pleasant surprise. Otherwise, Enzo & Cass winning the titles was probably the feel good moment the show needed.

Rhyno and Corbin was a well-timed admission that Corbin wasn't going to remain popular as a face.

In terms of expectations versus reality, the main event was pretty poor. It was good to see Zayn dominating Owens and getting some measure of revenge but the finish left a bad taste in my mouth. First off, it was confusing. If referees and doctors are having to stop one participant from touching the other, ring the bell, it's over. It was implied that Sami would carry on fighting, but he didn't. I wasn't sure if he was supposed to concussed or selling a shoulder injury or dead. It really made him look like a chump when, at the very first sign of trouble, the locker room emptied to protect him against an opponent who wasn't really doing anything underhand or illegal. I genuinely felt angry with Sami for notting even attempting to fight back.

Seeing a full-fledged TNA guy - and Samoa Joe, former TNA world champion with ten years at the company is nothing if not that - in WWE with the same name, being trumpeted as a big deal is a unique novelty. I'm a big fan of Joe. It's a pity Wreddit spoiled it, though it's my fault for reading spoilers.

The women saved the show.

The Boss, as per usual, was absolutely spectacular. Becky Lynch, despite an odd new look, earned the standing ovation she got at the end of the match. There were some blown spots but it was the only match on the card that was as good as I expect from NXT (i.e. excellent).

Mark out moment of the night: Charlotte and Bayley hugging.

I've come to the conclusion I need to either take off early from work when these specials happen, or just avoid all social media & forums until I've finished watching the show. The Joe thing was spoiled for me by some indy wrestling fan page I had just liked a mere 4-5 hrs. earlier that day, & it kinda killed a big mark out moment for me.

Nah, but for real: how good were Balor and Breeze's entrances? And Balor's paint? And Breeze's tights?

And Enzo's corner DDT looked sick.

Breeze and Balor are so damn good. Those entrances were fantastic. Hopefully they translate well on the main roster.

Do you really see Breeze's gimmick translating onto the main roster? I think it will need to start evolving some or get a rehaul, otherwise the general fans are going to register it on the same grounds as Fandango and Adam Rose.

So how many episodes of NXT do they tape at once? Should we expect the outcome of the Cena/Owens match to be spoiled based on what happens?
