The NXT Thread Is Like Ring of Honor's Bay-Bay!

Here's a thought: if Rhyno can be in NXT, even for a handful of matches, why not Bubba Ray? Owens could prove how he's a new breed of nasty, slimy, brutal, remorseless, fat scum by slaying the last survivor of the old breed. Those of us who were witness to Bully Ray's metamorphosis would like that, I'm sure.

Even the guys like Jericho and RVD who just come back for a couple months, why not do it down there? Wrestle some new guys and do something that's probably more fun and helps the company more. It's a win-win.

He reminded me of one of the "tough" trolls from the 90s toy line.

Much better look though than what appeared to be an ice cream man with a gut that I saw in pictures last summer. I shall reserve judgement.
I hope everyone takes this approach.

There is no doubt that his look has always been "unconventional" and that is actually a part of his gimmick and appeal. He was even in an indy tag team with a guy named Arik Cannon called the "Dirty Ugly Fucks". Looking like an unbathed, dangerous, near homeless, white trash scumbag was his intentional indy look. That combined with his lack of height and pedestrian physique made him a slightly surprising hire for the WWE. But he was someone they had to take a shot on- he's gotten mega over everywhere he's wrestled, he can cut a solid promo, he was one of the elite in-ring talents on the indy circuit, and he's still only 27 years old. I think people will eventually see why he has such a cult following.

Damn good episode....Ol' Blue pants....Not unattractive, and also dresses like she is in the old school X men.
Very Funny that you should mention that...

That's her dressed as female Wolverine clone, X-23.

Leva "Ol' Blue Pants" Bates is actually known as much for her cosplay as she is for her wrestling. On the indy circuit she has probably wrestled in fifty different cosplay get-ups.

More Leva X-Men cosplay, because, why not?

Her NXT attire is basically her old school Cyclops cosplay costume:

I KNOW WHAT THE FUCK X-23 IS HOW FUCKING DARE YOU

and now I recognize the name and the gimmick, yes, Leva Bates. I only took note of her in passing sometime a couple years ago I think. I remember following her on twitter for a bit, because you know, hot chick in comic book cosplay, fuck yes.

WWE posted a WWE.com Exclusive video with Regal talking about Rhyno, at the end of the video he announces next week The Brian Kendrick is coming to NXT. This makes me so fucking happy!

I would love if NXT would start bringing guys that would sort of get lost in returning on the main roster but would be incredibly appreciated in NXT. Kendrick and Rhyno are perfect examples.

Paul London would be another guy I'd love to see return, so many things they could do with both him & London in NXT, having them work as either singles or a tag team would be great.

One expects they'll be back for short programs and then brought on as trainers or released back into the wild, just as it should be.

I've already mentioned how I'd like to see Bubba Ray come on board for a bit, and I'd say the same for Shelton Benjamin. Matt Hardy would be a more leftfield one but I'd love for a renewal of this feud:

Oh God, that still gets me.

Matt Hardy has done some amusing shit since he left WWE, that is for sure. Besides the 'Matt Facts' from the V1 days I never remember him too funny.

nightmare often wonders why he posts while hungover.

The fact that I keep hitting "I" instead of "O" when texting is also another reason. The dexterity level after a night of drinking does not usually increase until after a proper breakfast.

I should get on that once I am able to move from this chair. But I am comfy & finishing up the Owens\Neville match. So it can wait.

I wouldn't be surprised if they work out a deal with Jericho somewhere down the line for an NXT run, he does live in Florida so he'd be close to home every night (until they start venturing outside of FL more often, which seems to be the long term plan), & he does seem to love putting over younger talent, & I think he recently said somewhere he doesn't like doing the main shows (RAW, SD!, & PPVs) as much because they're too micromanaged & it's just not as much fun. Plus he could give the young up & comers in NXT more exposure through his podcast.

They could offer up 3 or 6 month contracts to certain guys & it would not only be cool to see them back, but it would help put over some of the NXT talent. I cannot see there being too many people that they would give a long term deal to or even a full-time job backstage, but there are plenty who could come in for a bit, have the guys learn a thing or two & put on some solid matches.

Plus if NXT is gonna be going on the road, a few returning wrestlers would certainly help ticket sales. Add in a new shirt or some updated merch for those folks & WWE would be making a smart move.

Jericho seems almost too big a name for NXT. I think Rhyno's the sort of level you should be aiming for.

Rhyno:
  • Former ECW Champion
  • Former NWA:TNA Champion
  • Perennial midcarder in WWE
  • Notable run in the indies
  • Recent, brief return to TNA

Chris Jericho:
  • Multiple time world champion

Obviously I'm not saying having former world champions in NXT wouldn't be beneficial for NXT but it's the main brands that take priority and I'm sure they'd rather be bolstered by the big guns than by Spanky.

Do you EVER tire of being a wrong fool?

I'm gonna go out and eat some KFC and buy some t-shirts, probably in that order, in a minute, but first I want to ask:

If you had to choose three NXT talents to bring up post-WrestleMania, who would they be? Mine:

  1. Sami Zayn
  2. Kalisto
  3. Sasha Banks

Might do a non-spam version later, or even just do it in here and list reasons, which would be a novel idea. Oh, and if anybody has any ideas for what Adrian Neville could do on the main roster, I'm all ears (as is he).

Banks as the well has dried up in terms of things you can do with the Divas and unfortunately as good as Sasha is she'll only extend it's lifeline by six months at best before it dies again. It's the ever-growing problem with Divas on the main stage.

Kalisto still has amazing one on one matches he can have in NXT while he's given the time.

Zayn can be fantastic on both NXT and the main stage but I just fear they'll somehow fuck him up.

1-Baron Corbin
2-Bull Dempsey
3-Mojo Rawley

I'd prefer the guys & girls I like stay on the one show WWE produces that is actually good as opposed to getting called up & possibly getting lost in the shuffle once Vinnie Mac gets bored with them, so lets send up the 3 guys that are dead weight & have little to nothing to offer. Who knows maybe this way they get their release papers sooner too.
