It’s the go home show for Takeover next week and the main stories are the tournament to crown a new #1 contender and making Zayn vs. Owens a title match at Owens’ demand. Tonight we have two semi-final matches with Hideo Itami vs. Finn Balor and Adrian Neville vs. Baron Corbin with the winners facing each other next week. Let’s get to it.

The Short Form Build

As a whole this NXT special has less of a build than any of the entire last year but I'm confident it's going to rock.

Still, so much unused talent, we're surely in for some unannounced matches next week.

Itami/Breeze is happening for sure.

I can not fucking stand Carmella, she may be the worst thing to happen to NXT since Mojo Rawley. She's so awful that she's killing any joy I get out of seeing Enzo & Big Cass come out.

Same. The only thing I ever liked about her was when the three of them were in the gym and Enzo said she didn't have any gear and she came back in revealing spandex, but that was more due to Enzo's shock than anything else. The song and talking on the way to the ring drives me crazy.

Kevin Owens Day has been cancelled on account of him being a piece of shit.

Oh, and congratulations on everybody getting worked by Carmella. In an ideal world, Bayley defends the title against Carmella at the next special.

Baron Corbin had his best match yet, which was inevitable because a) it was longer than twenty seconds and b) it was against Adrian Neville. Taking nothing away from him, it was a nice little match. The Dempsey match, and I can't believe they're doing it a third time, will not be.

I nodded off during the Balor/Itami match. I'll watch it tonight if I find the time. Bet it was good.

The only reason people hate Carmella, myself included, is because of the fear of her splitting Enzo & Cass up

Just wanted to say NXT is fantastic! However Corbin and Bull are both pretty bad. I completely disagree about Corbin having "presence"!

I dig Corbin. Besides him constantly looking like a child who just dropped his ice cream on the ground, I think there is some potential there. Not going to ever get close to the WWE title, but I can see him making a mid card run before becoming the newest member of TNA's home for expendable talent.


Seriously, Dixieland is like a WWE foster home. "We dont have the room for you anymore, so here is some lunch money & a ticket to Florida to go stay with your new parents. "

Apparently their a rumors that they may have a multi-man NXT ladder match at WM31, while I'm sure the match would be great, especially if it included the likes a Zayn, Owens, Balor, Itami, & Neville, I think I'm against this. I want WWE's main roster & NXT to be about as far apart as possible.

I don't think so, 3 titles for an hour show feels about right to me.

Nah. One of the great things about NXT is that it only takes 1-2 tapings for anyone on the roster to be built up as a threat to the world title, and extending that building up period by trapping them for a while in a division automatically considered a tier below won't do any good for the people involved.

As long as it's on the pre-show, I don't get why anyone would have an issue with it. The smark heavy Wrestlemania crowd would go nuts for the NXT guys.

I genuinely forget who the IC and US champs are on a regular basis.



to another posters question, no need for a mid-card title as of yet. There are generally only about 10 - 12 guys on the show regularly at any given time.


PIP PIP!!! HOORAYYYY for Triple H furthermore 1. Explaining and pushing the fact that NXT is formatted and booked different for a specific and different audience 2. He wants NXT to begin touring small venues outside of Florida this year 3. Doesn't want NXT mixing with any main show riff-raff on any RAW or PPV.
