The Most Athletic Superstar in the WWE Right Now

Starship Pain Co-Pilot:crashes alot
Pretty simple, who is the most Athletic Superstar in the WWE right now, not 5 years ago, not in TNA, not the best talker, not even the best wrestler, but who is the most athletic
my vote, now that Benjamin is gone, would be John Morrison, this man is a Standout High School Wrestling captain and a College Level Gymnast, i really can't see anyone else who can compare, besides maybe Jack Swagger, but i don't see Swagger doing a standing shooting star press either.

Yeah, Morrison would also get my vote. Evan Bourne is pretty damn agile in the ring as well... Also, I want to get a better look at Justin Gabriel over the next month or two. 450 splash or not, he's pretty crazy in the ring.

John Morrison definetly, although if we're counting the rookies, I'd say Kaval is a good bet too. He moves around the other guys like they're trying to catch a fly.

I think Morrison is probabley the best and most athletic..But like "The Kid" said up there..I wanna get a closer look at Justin Gabriel..I think if WWE would bring back the lightweight title. (WHICH I AM VERY IN FAVOR OF) he would be a sinch for it..

I'd say Evan Bourne. There aren't that many superstars who could pull off a shooting star press. Jomo, Gabriel, and Kaval are also up there

Nice picture Nomis haha =] Im pulling for Kaval, hes so professional. So much experience. Not only does he have athleticism, skill, and knowledge, his moves are precise. He knows how to cause the least pain to his fellow wrestlers with the dangerous moves he performs. Much like Morrison and Bourne. Out of all of them i would have to say Kaval, hes just so impressive, the voice is insane. Hes totally better off playing a demon in a scifi series. I see Kaval being much like Brock Lesnar. Not by power of course. But very easy to work with. Plus Kaval can so be a main eventer, very impressive.

Not taking any other aspects into account, it has to be JoMo, there are few others that can compete-obviously a couple of months ago, most would be saying Shelton Benjamin, but as this is now, and not looking at promo ability or anything else, I'd have to agree with you that he is the most athletic superstar in the WWE. However, a lot of people tend to just think of athletic as being able to fly, I'd say Swagger is up there as well.

There are so may athletic purists that the WWE has on it's roster right now. Like Kofi Kingston, Evan Bourne and John Morrison just to name a few. Hell even the Nexus have their own primal athletic member in Justin Gabriel. There are so many superstars who have so much to offer due to their athleticism they make matches more entertaining due to their "unique" offence.

It is fun to watch these athletes because they bring something new to the table. Not one of them is more supreme than the other as they all show their athleticism in different ways and of course have gotten to where they are because of it. These athletes make matches more fun to watch and they should all be credited with that and not just one.

good thread my man, good thread.

well there is a couple of guys in the E that are pretty impressive and fun to watch too! guys like JoMo, Bourne, Kofi, Gabriel, KAVAL! and even if he is a little bit old now, Rey. but if I had to pick one it HAS TO BE KAVAL. this guy is soooo impressive, he kicked the ass of that wannabe Khali, Eli Cottonwood (I think). he is the next Rey but heel (hope so...). but a second pick or close one is Kofi, when he used ladders like stilts it was pretty cool.

btw, someone metioned Swagger, but IMO he is a good WRESTLER, so my question is what is the difference between being a good WRESTLER (strictly wrestler) and a good ATHLETE?

i have one and im actually shocked this name hasnt been thrown out there yet ad if it was then i must of missed it lol but before i say my choice JoMo, bourne, and kaval are all good choices as is gabriel but in the end id have to say kofi kingston imo is one of if not the most athletic one in wwe today but as i said since its opinion i guess none of us are wrong lol:p

yeah to me it has to be between kofi and jomo, both of them could almost do anything in the ring, i also think r truth is not that far behind he is also very good. i would also have to throw in someone that does moves at times that just blow you away because guys his size shouldn't be doing that and that man is KANE

For me it comes down to 3 people.

John Morrison has been one of the most athletic guys in the WWE for some time now, including when Benjamin was still employed. His agility around the ring is next to none and he can do anything from mat wrestling to high flying manoeuvres. If you watch his DVD he shows you his parkor (spelling?) training and how he incorporates it into his matches. He runs around arena’s before shows jumping over stair rails and climbing walls. The guy is a god damn Jack in the Box.

Evan Bourne is another obvious athletic entity in WWE right now. His current push is also letting us see more of the things he can do. For too long we’ve only seen the shooting star press from him and now we’re getting to see a lot more. He’s ripped and obviously fit. He’s one of the best up and coming guys at the moment, simply because of his athletic abilities so I’d have to put him up there.

Kaval is number 3. I haven’t seen enough of him to comment hugely but from what I hear he’s much like a younger Mysterio and if that’s even close to what he can do then he must be one of the most athletically gifted guys on the roster and from what I’ve seen so far he definitely fits that description.

Honourable mentions to Rey Mysterio (if he was younger), Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler.

so many people have been mentioning kaval and evan bourne, my only problem is, besides they're finisher, theres a anything you can do i can do better situation with morrison, JoMo is not small like evan and kaval and hes still getting easy head clearance and suicide diving out of the ring on a daily basis, what i look for more than anything else is what they do besides they're finisher, i mean gabriel, evan and kaval all have really flashy finishers but besides that they have little to offer
although i do give major props for evan for taking that backdrop in MitB this year, that was sick

oh for sure my man Kofi Kingston. the guy reminds me of a young RVD with some of the stuff he pulls off. if they gave him more of a spotlight im sure we'd see it. Kudos to the Kane mention, the big guy has always has a shock value to him for what he can do. and very surprised no one has picked Punk as their #1. very quick, great foot work.

I'm going to go a different route and mention a couple guys that haven't been mentioned yet.

Of course my #1 vote would more than likely go to Kofi Kingston, but I want to be different so this thread doesn't get stale.

How about

Tyson Kidd: We don't get to see a lot of his athleticism simply because the majority of the time he's in tag action. I've seen a lot of his work in the singles division back in FCW and even some of his stuff in Canada, and he's a freak athlete.

The Usos: I don't think anybody will mention these two, but for their size I think this family has proven time and time again they are freak athletes. Yoko was over 550 lbs and still doing moves that most 350 lb men couldn't dream about. The Uso's defiantly inherited some of that Anoa'i athletism as week in and week out I get more impressed with them.
