The Miz-chievous

RVD420

Occasional Pre-Show
As is becoming a tradition when I watch wrestling, I was sitting on my couch, watching Raw and smoking a blunt :rasta: when it happened again. I was inspired by the swirling clouds of smoke and the video package of The Miz that John Cena showed the crowd and it got me thinking. So without further adieu, I bring you yet ANOTHER crazy conspiracy directly from the mind of your's truly RVD420!

***NOTE - Anybody interested in other whacked out views of the wrestling world, please see other threads started by me (zOMG not another John Cena heel turn thread and/or CM Comin'). Thanks guys.

So, on to business. First of all, let me just say that I am a really big fan of The Miz. I love him on the mic, he just has this attitude that hasn't been seen in years and quite frankly, he's the best thing to happen to Cena in a long time. Having said that, is Vince McMahon only pushing him because he represents what the IWC community stands for? I can already see the tomatoes flying at me while I stand on this box but please, hear me out. Now I understand that Miz is excellent on the mic, had a great run with a viable tag team (a rare commodity in the WWE in this day and age), and from my vantage point, has all the makings of an upper mid-card talent, borderline main event. I actually consider him the Roddy Piper of today's product. The Miz is kind of standing up for all of the IWC when he cuts promos talking about Cena.

Am I saying that this is the ONLY reason that they are pushing him? Obviously not. It would be naive of me to think that they don't recognize his natural charisma and everything mentioned above, but is there another reason for the push?

It is common knowledge to anybody with a brain that McMahon will go out of his way to swerve the IWC, stroke his ego and remind us of his position of power at any and every available opportunity. So is it that unbelieveable that he would take the BEST tag team (at the time) in the entire company, split them up, take the person that we thought would be a world champ first and put him on Smackdown and then take the leftovers (The Miz) and stick him in on the "A" show with Cena, Trips, Orton, Big Show, HBK, Batista and MVP. Then, give him a new gimmick where he "stands up for the IWC" and immediately put him in a feud with the top babyface in the company who, coincidentally, is probably the most hated person within the IWC.

Now, as we all know, during Raw last night, it was announced that FINALLY we will see The Miz vs. Cena 1-on-1 for the first time ever at The Bash this Sunday and I can't help but think that Cena is going to win this match. Is it the right thing to do? GIMMIE A HELL NO!! Is it what will happen? God I hope not. But given the facts, it is possible that McMahon is just trying to get one over on the IWC again. If he was smart, he would let Miz get a tainted win over Cena and then work it into a 3-way match between Cena/Miz/Show.

Unfortunately I don't see it happening and I think its all one big joke on the IWC. Vince has essentially taken a man who initially the IWC cared very little for, put him on the main show where he will be lost in the shuffle, changed his gimmick to somewhat of an on-screen member of the IWC and by allowing him to use his mic skills, was able to endear him to us and will now take him and bury him. I don't hope for this but I can see it happening. Thoughts?

I am also a very big fan of The Miz. In my opinion he is the best entertainer on RAW right now and i think its great the heat he gets with the crowd.

However i cant help but feel he is going to get absolutely destroyed at The Bash (i hope im wrong). Remember that time Chavo got beat in like 4 secs at Wrestlemania? I reckon that could happen here but it would be a stupid thing to do. The Miz is a great heel and this would ruin him. He surely needs to beat Cena or put on a great display to make a name for himself.
I dont want to see anymore of Cena/Big show not even if its in a triple threat with The Miz. They have had some terribly boring matches and this feud needs to end (despite show pulling off some good moves last night).

I doubt they'll have Miz get destroyed, or else his credibility will be zero. Either he'll win by taking advantage of Cena's injred back and some cheating, or Big Show will interfere just after Cena hits the FU and Cena will win byt DQ.

True, however, I'm not talking about just this angle. I'm talking about after this angle is over. We all know that however long this program runs, Cena will win in the end. If you don't think that's the truth then you've got rocks for brains (not you.....I mean in general). I'm talking about after this angle is all said and done with. The Miz will be no higher than the mid-card after a few months and a transitional champion for whoever they decide their next U.S. champ will be. Am I happy about it?? No.....will it happen?? eh 50/50

Look let's get this straight, Miz is not the greatest mic artist. That title belongs to The Rock. However I will say that he is pretty damn good on the mic(compliments of his time in reality tv). His fued with Cena will probably end with the Miz getting absolutely DESTROYED!!! I hope this doesn't happen and that Cena at least barely wins as that would make Miz look strong in upcoming matches. Hell I hope he beats Cena.As much as I like Cena I'm tired of him winning all of the time. Of course he'll probably win the war but maybe he'll at least lose the battle.

First of all, let me just say that I am a really big fan of The Miz.

As am I.

I love him on the mic, he just has this attitude that hasn't been seen in years and quite frankly, he's the best thing to happen to Cena in a long time.

Hmm... I agree that he's great on the mic. Maybe on the attitude that hasn't been seen in years. He's not the best thing to happen to Cena in a long time. Look Cena has been with Show for the past two months of course it's not going to be great, but his stuff with Edge was great, same with Jericho.

To be honest Miz is doing the same thing that Cena did in 03. When he started fight Taker, he came out started bad mouthing Taker and then got in a couple of matches that made him look good.

Having said that, is Vince McMahon only pushing him because he represents what the IWC community stands for?

Maybe, but I dare not think what's going through his mind.

I can already see the tomatoes flying at me while I stand on this box but please, hear me out.

okay...

Miz is great on the mic. Yes he did have a good run with Morrison. He has potential to be a main eventer. I don't see him as a Roddy Piper, he's more like Cena was when he first came in. Really taking to the upper guys.

Am I saying that this is the ONLY reason that they are pushing him? Obviously not. It would be naive of me to think that they don't recognize his natural charisma and everything mentioned above, but is there another reason for the push?

Doubt it. Vince doesn't give guys meaningless pushes.

It is common knowledge to anybody with a brain that McMahon will go out of his way to swerve the IWC, stroke his ego and remind us of his position of power at any and every available opportunity.

Maybe...

We all knew that they were going to break up, it was only a question of time. To be honest, right now Morrison is on the best show. From top to bottom Smackdown is better than Raw. The only thing that is fresh on Raw is Kofi as US champ, and Miz vs Cena. The latter being why I tune in.

Then, give him a new gimmick where he "stands up for the IWC" and immediately put him in a feud with the top babyface in the company who, coincidentally, is probably the most hated person within the IWC.

Cena isn't the most hated in the IWC. There was a time when he was, but that has since changed. While many don't like his gimmick, many still respect him, and see him as a great worker.

Now, as we all know, during Raw last night, it was announced that FINALLY we will see The Miz vs. Cena 1-on-1 for the first time ever at The Bash this Sunday

Yep, and it will be good.

and I can't help but think that Cena is going to win this match.

There is a good chance that will happen. Though there is the chance that Cena will lose as well. One thing though, Cena can put someone over win or lose. Look at Swagger.

Is it the right thing to do? GIMMIE A HELL NO!! Is it what will happen? God I hope not. But given the facts, it is possible that McMahon is just trying to get one over on the IWC again.

While many of us want Miz to win, like I said it is possible for Miz to look very strong against Cena. Look Miz walked to the ring and called Cena a called him a coward to his face, and hit Cena. I think they are going to make him look like a fighter. Then turn to some heel tactic to win.

If he was smart, he would let Miz get a tainted win over Cena and then work it into a 3-way match between Cena/Miz/Show.

If he was Smart he would keep Show as far away from these two as possible. Show doesn't need to be involved at all. It's stupid for him keep going after Cena when he's lost every match to Cena since 04...

Unfortunately I don't see it happening and I think its all one big joke on the IWC.

Over thinking... or it maybe what your smoking...

Vince has essentially taken a man who initially the IWC cared very little for, put him on the main show where he will be lost in the shuffle, changed his gimmick to somewhat of an on-screen member of the IWC and by allowing him to use his mic skills, was able to endear him to us and will now take him and bury him.

I doubt it. It could have been that way to begin with, but really Miz has started to shine in this last month. He's one of the only guys on Raw that can get legit heat. I think this is only the beginning of for Miz.

I don't hope for this but I can see it happening. Thoughts?

I think that he will get the win this sunday, by some heel move. If not Cena will make him look good.

Hell I hope he beats Cena.As much as I like Cena I'm tired of him winning all of the time.

I agree with mostly everything you said, except for this. Now lets get this straight, I am in NO way a Cena fan. I just never really liked him. However, I was recently schooled on some Cena statistics that I think you should take a look at. (Thanks 48.7 v3)

- He has only held the World Championship 105 days out of 534 days since the beginning of 2008

- He's 10-6 in Pay-Per-View matches since then as well

- He hasn't had a title shot in 2 months (not a big deal but it is considering he is the TOP babyface in the company)

I would say that he WAS being pushed down our throats but that argument is no longer valid.

As I say, as a wrestler, I can't stand Cena. But as a person, I really like what he does. He does a lot of charity work and such. But, as I wrote in another Miz thread, I pray this man wins this sunday. He needs the win (Or to look like a million bucks) if we want to see Miz get over. I remember when Cena did this exact same thing 6 years ago. Within months, he was the hottest face in the mid card.

The Miz is very talented on the mic, he is one of the few in the WWE who can talk like that. The WWE better not fuck it up. this Sunday will either be a v ery good match, where Miz will see his stock rise, or a match we will be ranting on monday. Only time will tell.

Yeah i was going to bring this up earlier....

Cena has lost quite a few matches fairly recently. Batista, Edge, Big Slow, HHH and most shockingly JBL have all beaten him in recent times on ppv's if i remember correctly.

However i would be absolutely stunned if The Miz was to win on sunday - especially considering how RAW ended!
