As is becoming a tradition when I watch wrestling, I was sitting on my couch, watching Raw and smoking a blunt when it happened again. I was inspired by the swirling clouds of smoke and the video package of The Miz that John Cena showed the crowd and it got me thinking. So without further adieu, I bring you yet ANOTHER crazy conspiracy directly from the mind of your's truly RVD420!
***NOTE - Anybody interested in other whacked out views of the wrestling world, please see other threads started by me (zOMG not another John Cena heel turn thread and/or CM Comin'). Thanks guys.
So, on to business. First of all, let me just say that I am a really big fan of The Miz. I love him on the mic, he just has this attitude that hasn't been seen in years and quite frankly, he's the best thing to happen to Cena in a long time. Having said that, is Vince McMahon only pushing him because he represents what the IWC community stands for? I can already see the tomatoes flying at me while I stand on this box but please, hear me out. Now I understand that Miz is excellent on the mic, had a great run with a viable tag team (a rare commodity in the WWE in this day and age), and from my vantage point, has all the makings of an upper mid-card talent, borderline main event. I actually consider him the Roddy Piper of today's product. The Miz is kind of standing up for all of the IWC when he cuts promos talking about Cena.
Am I saying that this is the ONLY reason that they are pushing him? Obviously not. It would be naive of me to think that they don't recognize his natural charisma and everything mentioned above, but is there another reason for the push?
It is common knowledge to anybody with a brain that McMahon will go out of his way to swerve the IWC, stroke his ego and remind us of his position of power at any and every available opportunity. So is it that unbelieveable that he would take the BEST tag team (at the time) in the entire company, split them up, take the person that we thought would be a world champ first and put him on Smackdown and then take the leftovers (The Miz) and stick him in on the "A" show with Cena, Trips, Orton, Big Show, HBK, Batista and MVP. Then, give him a new gimmick where he "stands up for the IWC" and immediately put him in a feud with the top babyface in the company who, coincidentally, is probably the most hated person within the IWC.
Now, as we all know, during Raw last night, it was announced that FINALLY we will see The Miz vs. Cena 1-on-1 for the first time ever at The Bash this Sunday and I can't help but think that Cena is going to win this match. Is it the right thing to do? GIMMIE A HELL NO!! Is it what will happen? God I hope not. But given the facts, it is possible that McMahon is just trying to get one over on the IWC again. If he was smart, he would let Miz get a tainted win over Cena and then work it into a 3-way match between Cena/Miz/Show.
Unfortunately I don't see it happening and I think its all one big joke on the IWC. Vince has essentially taken a man who initially the IWC cared very little for, put him on the main show where he will be lost in the shuffle, changed his gimmick to somewhat of an on-screen member of the IWC and by allowing him to use his mic skills, was able to endear him to us and will now take him and bury him. I don't hope for this but I can see it happening. Thoughts?
