Might I remind you that the trustworthy "Mr. Boring" took over the position as the ruler of our country without an election and with no mandate from the masses. Now I'm a bit right wing on the issue of political responsibility, but to me that essentially makes him a dictator from a bloodless coup. (All right, I'm not that extreme but it does piss me off).
DC is a total sleaze bag, but when one looks at the actual policy difference between the two parties (or at the empty space where the difference should be) I don't think that a Tory government would run the country any differently than Labor, and given that Labor have been doing a miserable job as of late, I think they need a kick up the backside just to remind them that the general public is still here.
With Labor’s "negative campaigning techniques", I suspect you had to live in where ever the hell the bi election was taking place; but from what I hear they were doing what they've done every single election since gaining power, which is waving around pictures of Margaret Thatcher and telling people that the Conservatives can't run the country because they all had good educations... or something to that effect.
Pff; I hate them both anyway. Last few elections I've just gone in, written a short note on my ballot paper explaining why they are destroying British politics and submitted it.
