The Dudley Boyz Return

Jack-Hammer

YOU WILL RESPECT MY AUTHORITAH!!!!
I have to admit that I'm a little surprised that nobody's made a thread on this or hasn't been marking out. In a big surprise, the 24 time World Tag Team Champions returned to WWE after a decade long absence. This adds a level of star power to the tag team division that it hasn't had in a very long time and has to have created some sparks.

According to the main page, they've signed a multi-year deal and will be full timers, so it's a bit refreshing to have legends signed to the roster full time.

Great return. It had the nostalgia but at the same time the guys delivered and looked great. Bubba's serious nature will be a great contrast to the New Day's goofyness. I'm not sure how well they will help get other team's over but they are pretty entertaining all the same. A title run is not out of the question. The tag division has been terrific lately, this is a bonus.

If they're around to stay for awhile, they could do the tag division some real good. New Day was excellent last night. And it was good how the booking made the Dudleyz look at PTP like they were a real threat. I got a bit of goosebumps seeing that return. While I'm not always a fan of old timers coming back and taking away the spotlight from the youth, it's an excellent opportunity for all of these guys to get under the learning tree and see how it's done. The tag division has really stepped up it's game this last year. This just adds some star power.

As a strange side note, last night made me realize that Bubba Ray Dudley is the only white guy in the division. I don't know what to make of that other than the typical cries of racism.

Man I totally marked out!!!

In old video games my CAW would always be a Dudley, I love those guys!

And for once I managed not to get any spoilers, so it was a great surprise, especially D-Von as Bubba had already come back for the RR, but to see them both, put Woods through a table with a 3D, and the the prospect of having them stay, man that's gonna be awesome. I hope they get their hands on the title quickly, and defend it for quite some time to elevate it and give it meaning agin like Cena did with the US.

But yeah since Tyson Kidd's injury the tag scene is a desert, New day is awesome, but I'm not a great fan of PTP, I don't think they are that charismatic although Titus is a beast and young isn't bad himself but yeah they're not over with me.

Los matadores have to change their gimmick if they don't want to be jobbers all their career, and the Lucha dragons are great and entertaining in ring especially Kalisto, but it's still a bit too early for them. At least they are on Raw (hello ascencion!)

Anyway, my point is, we definitely need more tag teams, I'm surprised Enzo and Cass didnt appear at all over the week end, maybe blake and murphy will be called now that they lost the title....I don't know.

Btw anyone knows what are Sandow and Axel up to lately?

They're full timers? Awesome. I was wondering if that was a one time thing or would it be a short term thing. With a show including Bo Dallas getting decimated by Brock Lesnar, the debut of Braun Stowman after surprisingly never debuting on NXT, the predictable but still awesome return of Sting, and this return. You would expect The Dudleys to go help with NXT, but I guess not.
And if you're gonna bring The Dudleys in, maybe they should consider bringing Rhyno up from NXT. I'd love to see him in there with guys like Rollins, Sheamus, Rusev, Bray, perhaps teaming up with Ambrose and Reigns sometime, and as a heel, Dolph, Ryback, Cesaro, (I mean come on, he can have a good match with anybody) just bring him up for a few main roster feuds. I'd like to see him on RAW and I'm sure others here would as well

Cool. But shortsighted them going after New Day. They've only just won the titles, so should the Dudleyz really take them off them or lose so soon?

I'd have built up The Ascension for a month. Seems like a more appropriate feud right now.

What a surprise! We saw Bubba at the Rumble and we thought he might be back for a solo run or that D-Von wouldn't be that far behind, but then he left. That kind of got the whole idea out of our heads, so that surprise was really genuine last night.

According to the main page, the deal means they'll be working full-time, including live shows, and I don't see why they couldn't because they're in AMAZING shape. And that the deal is a multi-year one. If all of this is true, I'd be thrilled. Even if it's an RVD thing where they wrestle 90 days, take a few off, and come back that would be beneficial.

I'm sure this New Day/Dudley feud will be entertaining, even if they throw in the PTP and other new teams (like Enzo/Cass when they get called up).

All I can say is that I'm looking forward to what happens next and hopefully this leads the Dudleyz into the HOF. For once I'll actually be tuning into Smackdown this week!

WWE has done a good job of refocusing tag teams, bringing back PTP, focusing on New Day, Lucha Dragons and a returning Usos soon. Dudleys really legitimize the tag division. Looks like the guys can still go and if any of these teams beat the Dudley's it makes them look really good. Personally, I did want to see a single Bully Ray run, but I'm not complaining. Won't happen, but imagine Velvet Sky in the camoflage.

Obviously their return was a great surprise, but for them to really make an impact they needed a great heel team to return against and they have that in the New Day. The New Day have become one of the hottest acts on the show, they're great at playing their role and they are perfect opponents for the Dudleys. As others have said, the tag team division has become very strong. It has actual teams, with characters, that get a chance to talk and showcase their personalities. It is so far ahead of where it was back during the days of the brandsplit.

The tag division has really been hot lately and this may have just put it over the top. Awesome and unexpected mark out moment from me last night. If they're really trying to keep the tag division relevant and develop, this is the perfect team for the job.

New Day, PTP, Lucha Dragons, fuck me...even The Ascension, ALL benefit from working with The Dudley Boys. This is a good time to be a fan of tag team wrestling for sure.

I didn't see their return coming. I just hate their return is at the expense of the New Day/PTP feud. I figured if ND/PTP face off at NOC that would be their final showdown then The Usos return at HIAC and New Day and Usos could feud through the fall then maybe we could have mixed the Dudleys in the title mix.

However, it does shake up the tag division. It's only so many combinations of matches we can have with Los Matodores and Lucha Dragons until The Usos return.

I'm hoping we get a TLC match with the Dudleys now they're back, especially since TLC is a PPV now.

Very ecstatic to have the DUDLEYZ back. The storylines are endless. Bully Ray & D'Vonn can both talk and tell a story in the ring. This is huge and creates instant buzz in the Tagteam division. After another title run or 2 I'd love to see The Dudleyz face off against the Wyatt Family. Bray & Bully can sell the hell out of that. Bully Ray would be great as a MITB winner, too. So much potential for the BOYZ. Glad they're back.

Here's an obvious question I know some have thought of,
New Day has 3 members...there are only 2 Dudley Boys.....Will Spike return to even the numbers up?

It is great to see them back. There have only been so many teams that have made an impact on wrestling. Von Erichs, Freebirds, Rocky and Tony, LOD, Hardy Boys, and Dudley Boyz. I'd put them all time at number 2 just behind The Road Warriors. The Dudleyz were pioneers in crowd participation, hardcore wrestling, and of course the use of tables.
It's good they are back and hope they will be for a while.

I hope bubba gets a nice singles Ic title run outta this and perhaps a program with OWENS cesaro and lesnar

Bring back spike or add another member to the duddleys and say it's there sisters son and have a young guy join them and make them feud with the wyatts

A title run is a necessity. I'm delighted they're back. I commented on one of the articles that I had a feeling they would appear in the upcoming NXT tournament, but I'm over the moon that they're back on the main stage.

It was a great return and what the tag-team division needed in the worst way.

For months now, the tag team matches are the one thing I fast forward through every show... won't be doing it for Dudley matches though

I don't mind admitting squealling like a girl when I saw it... only cos I'd told my buddies while watching Summerslam they were bound to come back cos of that finish...

Xavier Woods summed up on Twitter how cool the whole deal was, he got to take the first 3D in a decade through the table...after blowing a rusty trombone for a bit (athankyou) Why would he be so excited? Cos it's the first time in a decade they've let it happen, something actually ATTITUDE ERA cool, not watered down like the New Age Outlaws cutting Ass from their intro... full WASSUP and Tables momet cool!

The Dudz are in the New Age Outlaws position to an extent, they'll get the push and the titles for a spell. There may be a training or agent aspect of their deals, Bubba COULD do a singles reign but that's not likely... they know they are getting paid as a team and as trainers/agents rather than proper tag team champs for a long time.

And fair play, irony is back in the day I never liked them that much or rather didn't appreciate what they did. They were dull to me. But right now they're just whats needed... some proper "old fashioned", not Taker trying to be what he was or a lame one shot return... the only downside to the whole thing for me was the choice of music this time out... to me it needed the "Drop The Bomshell" theme, cos it was a Bombshell...

I hope bubba gets a nice singles Ic title run outta this and perhaps a program with OWENS cesaro and lesnar

I could see that, once their run as a tag-team is over, that both men could wrestle as singles.

Have them as a team for a year or two. Have one turn on the other, feud (including a Tables Match at a PPV) and then D-Von be in the mid-card division, fighting for the IC or U.S. belt.

From the big deal TNA made him, I could see Bully Ray as a future WWE Champion and main-eventer. He could feud with people like Bray Wyatt, Randy Orton, and even John Cena. He could even stand his own against someone like Brock, and have it that he doesn't fear Brock, and even welcomes a fight against the Beast.

That was quite possibly the best return ever. The tag team division has taken some hits lately due to injuries (Cesaro & Kidd, Usos, Wyatts). WWE was in desperate need of new challengers for New Day. Then the fireworks went off, and I had no clue what was going on. I actually thought it was Neville! Lol.

Then, the Dudley Boyz came up on the titantron, and I started marking out like I was 5 years old! I screamed in joy "Oh my God, It's the Dudley Boyz!!"

As I was watching their original brawl with New Day, I was praying to the wrestling gods that they would put one of them through a table. Of course not before the Wazzup Headbutt and "D-Von, Get The Tables!", which received one of the loudest pops ever.

They reminded why I watched wrestling. Something that rarely happens these days. Most of the times it's just like "Oh they're doing this again?"

A multi-year full-time contract provides the icing on the cake. Think about the potential feuds with the Wyatt Family, Lucha Dragons, PTP, or even Reigns and Ambrose.

I'm glad to see The Dudleys back in the WWE, both D'Von and Bubba are in the greatest shape of there careers and have shown in the last decade that they can both preform at a high level. I'm hoping that they don't get similar treatment that the New Age Outlaws got, that they have a couple month stint and get a run with the titles and then are pushed to the side lines. They both deserve better and they could possibly have successful singles runs if given the right push. Bubba did some great work in TNA with his singles run and I would like to see him bring the Bully Ray gimmick to WWE.

It's obvious that The E is getting into desperation mode with all these returns last night. Vince prolly knows he's going to be getting his arse kicked in the ratings when the NFL starts up soon, so he's bringing back all these old timers cause they don't know how to make new Superstars anymore.

For Team 3D, why is everyone blowing their loads over them now? Everyone said they were done, and washed up while in TNA. Bully Ray went and become one of the hottest heels going while there too. But as soon as they step back on Raw, it's 1999 all over again?

I couldn t care for Bully Ray or Bubba Ray Bubbly. The bubby Boys were useless in TNA and are useless in wwe and I see NFL kicking wwe 's arse soon enough! Bringing old timers since wwe relies on it so much hell bring back Jake The Snake Roberts while you can with his snake? How about DDP? TNA got rid of those overshapped wash-ups for good reasons they sucked and TNA allowed them to win TNA tag team titles, TNA world heavyweight title and the TNA television titles and TNA HOF but it was time to get rid of them

"DEVON, GET THE DUMBBELLS!!"

I love how Bubba is still 20 pounds heavier than Bully.

Regardless, I marked out big time. Great to see them back.
