The Dr's Office

That would be an abbreviation, and I believe butchers have shops or sometimes delicatessens.

The trouble arrises in our different methods Dr.. In America, you folks usefully apply the full stop to any shortened version of a word. In my part of the world you would simply be known as the "Dr" rather than the "Dr.". Abreviations call for the period, such as is seen in Prof., but Doctor to Dr. is a contraction, because of the omission of internal letters, rather than an ending.

I only go into such detail as I recall you being a man of the letter and a fan of proper communication.

I do apologise for ressusitating this thread, however, and look forward to greeting you in The Meat Locker.

Underlings, leave the Dr. to gather his things and wish his place of solace one last goodbye.

So you mean to tell me that not everyone in the world adheres to the American guidelines of English?

Over here it's "Dr" too. Being a proud ex-member of the British Commonwealth, I'd think that a lot of English-speaking countries do it like that.

Do you put U's where they aren't necessary and use S's instead of Z's? And do you pronounce the letter Z as "zee" or "zed?"

I hate the fact that there are books. One of my galpals totally spoiled the demise of a character from the series.

I've already had a good amount spoiled for me, but I'm hoping that if I wait long enough to catch up I'll have forgotten some of the plot points. I'm done with season 1, so at this pace the show will be wrapped by the time I'm midway through.

Jip, it's more polite to add an extra "U", in case anybody needs one.

When I'm on this forum, I'll admit to reverting to the occasional "Z", instead of an "S".

And when I see a rogue "Z" lying in the street, I call it a "zett", because I'm Afrikaans... ;)

Do I stereotype you as a white supremacist or a black dude with a lion for a housecat?

Or you'll know everything and won't bother,

Very possible.

It's really incredible- all of these various cultures, brought together by America's internet.

On my second attempt to watch GoT I struggled to keep my motivations going past the third episode. Once I found out there was a redtube-esque compilation of all the nudey bits I really had to sit myself down and question why I even wanted to watch the show. The answers were critical acclaim and nudey bits. And I care little for critical acclaim. I made it through ten of the sixteen minute compilation, so ease up on the spoilers, fellas.

More like Slyfox's internet.

Slyfox isn't Al Gore.

Is he?

I'll just wait for the parody, Game of Bones.
