The Celtic Warrior

Mr. 619

Occasional Pre-Show
So as part of the ECW talent innitiative, Sheamus O'Shaunessy, now known simply as Sheamus debuted on ECW. I thought this guy was impressive. He was decent on the mic and very good in the ring. He was my favourite of the new talents by far. I think he will probobly squash jobbers for a few weeks, but i think his first fued will not be too far off. Whoever it could be.

So what do you guys think? I know it was only one match, but did he make a good first impression?

Not a big fan of squash matches, but his moveset was impressive, and I loved the finisher. They need to carry this guy into a strong feud. Before that though I would have him dismantle some of the ECW talent. He has a strong ring presence, and I think he has potential. He isn't some flash in the pan.

I think he should feud with Regal they would put on great matches which would set him up for an ECW title shot win the title then lose to reagal and either he could drafted to SD or Finlay could be drafted to ECW and he could feud iwth Finaly because Finlay is from Northern Ireland and Sheamus is from Ireland. Who wouldn't love an Irish pub brawl that is real and not just in an online tournament between Booker T and SCSA.

I like this dude. I have heard good things about him, and I guess he actually does have potential. I don't think his gimmick will take him too far though. I would say he should feud with Regal, but he seems to be startin something up with Kozlov. Plus they are both playing heels atm. I say put him with Goldust. It seems that his sole purpose is to help out new talent, pair him up with the best one. Could definitely be an entertaining program.

From the looks of it he was the physical tools to make it in the WWE. He's really big and strong and passed the test on the squash match phase of a debuting heel on ECW. He only spoke on the mic for a short time and it was ok, but I think he has some potential there.

He does have a very strange look with the crazy here and pasty white skin. I guess it goes with the "Celtic" gimmick, but I'm not sure if anyone will ever take him serioulsy as a main eventer if he stays that way. I think he's solid though and should stick around.

I liked the dude, he wasn't my fave from the new superstar thing, Yoshi Tatsu was just because he's asian and so am I :). Ugh yeah Sheamus is very good in the ring, I liked his back breaker style finisher gahh it's in your face and painful looking. And he is really really damn pale o.o. I also like his theme song. All and all Sheamus seems to have the total package. I think he made one of the most impressive debut's in years.

The Orange-Haired Bastard is pretty damn good in the ring, and I expect much from him in the future. My only gripe is that he's as pale as a fucking ghost. He needs a tan in the future or at least not to look so white...sorry, but being that totally white was just..well, didn't work for me.

Guy has potential to be a good ECW, Intercontinental, and possibly World Heavyweight champion. I see some tag titles with his name on them as well...so what if he teams with Finlay for a while? Or feuds with him? Or perhaps managed by the Fighting Irishman himself?

Great to see Seamus on the roster and here's to a good career in the WWE.

Hiya folks. This would be my debut post...nice to meet you all!! I am a big fan of the site and finally decided to get into the forums.

I saw Shaemus O'Shaunessy about 3 years ago on The Wrestling Channel which used to air here in the UK on Sky. He was the champion of this federation in London (I think it was called LDN or something..my memory fails me) and he had a GREAT little match in the main event. I remember looking at him and thinking this guy is money and I would definitly see him again one day....kinda similar to the same thing i felt when I saw Jack Swagger make his ECW debut. Shaemus was supporting similar ring gear to that which Swagger wears but in irish green. The best thing i remember about the guy was that he obviously loved the business and had such passion.

So good luck to you Shaemus! I look forward to great matches with Yoshi Tatsu, Goldust, Tommy Dreamer (after he loses the strap and Vince decides to start jobbing him out again) and eventually Christian. If he switched to face, a match with Koslov could be interesting...too athletic big men with international styles could make something fresh....another heel he could feud with is Shelton Benjamin. I also like the idea of a WWE version of TNA's British Invasion...shame Finlay went to Smackdown as a Finlay and Regal team with Shaemus as their prodigy could have made a nice stable.

Don't shout at me if you think my thoughts are wrong. I am just a n00b!! :P

Well, i have watched some of his matches in FCW and they are really good.
I see that the guy has a bright future in the company if he doesn´t do anything wrong, he is good in the ring and has all the potential to improve even more, he is good on the mic and has an impresive and unique finisher that looks very painful. He had a good debut match where he showed that his moveset is very interesting so i expect the "swagger push" so i see him in some months like the ECW champion and then going to other brand to grow up.

I didn't mind him, pasty mother fucker though. I saw him in on the Aus tour about a month ago and he was quite impressive. They obviously want him to go far. When I saw him in Brisbane he was apart of a 16 man battle royal and he was like 4th or 5th last eliminated so they want to push him I feel.

Hopefully he'll get some kind of a decent push after smashing jobbers for a bit because I like his promo skills as well as his ring work.

Well first off, I'm over half-irish, we don't tan well, we char.... can be painful, though when it the hey hey hey it hurts stops, it can lead to a fairly nice tan. It's a part of his culture so I do not see why he should tan it away, Irish and Scots are pale, so he should keep it that way.

As for his moveset, I haven't seen a good bicycle kick like that since believe it or not... A-Train. As for his finisher... I marked out when he hit it. It looked painful and believeable. So he does have talent, and the more ring time he gets in the WWE, the better he will get.

He has yet to do too much on the mic, but the little has wasn't bad, the accent is cool, it'll help get him over. So all in all, I think he'll have a nice long run in the WWE and do some pretty awesome things. That and I'm bound to be bias towards him, so I may not know what I am talking about at all.

i love Sheamus. love the gimmick. and love that he's not tan(its a real change of pace)

he's big, strong, talented, pretty good on the mic with his accent. the whole celtic warrior thing is bad ass. i see him as a future champ

Being from Dublin, and having seen Sheamus wrestle a couple of times. I cant wait to see how he does. I think the debut was solid, he got the crowd into a match that they normally wouldnt care about. I was a little disappointed this week when I seen him call out Finlay and Hornswaggle, but I'm im glad 2 see he wont be a joke like those 2 have become..

As fan as the look, his hair has always been like that, and he's Irish, so hes been pale you know? I'm pretty sure he spent about a year in FCW, so if while in Florida for that long he didnt get tanned, and they didnt request that he get tanned.. its pretty much set that they are behind him being pale. So probably just something 2 get used to.

I really like Seamus, he was really impressive in his debut and good mic skills, though you really need to pay attention to understand him because of his thick accent, maybe have subtitles or something. Him and Yoshi Tatsu were really impressive, and better than alot of the talent exchange people we've seen (minus Swagger of course)

This guy's a vicious, brutal and arrogant character. He's big, he's reasonably agile, he's got a distinctive appearance, he's got enough of an accent to be enjoyed yet one can understand him easily. What can I say, he's a great heel and off to an excellent start. I could see him rising about as quickly as Swagger did, he's got that kind of physical dominance and more potential (I think) in terms of viciousness than even Swagger. I'd enjoy seeing how Sheamus fares in a specialty match with hardcore stips.

After he's risen in the ranks, I'd enjoy seeing him feuding with various stars, maybe nabbing the Intercontinental title. Maybe he'll have more success in getting at it than Finley. Also, after he's done the heel thing for a while, I'd like to watch him try out being a face and see if he's capable of that as well, but that's for a good way into the future. For now, keep him mean and nasty!

Sheamus should do well in the WWE. He definetly has presence in the ring, He's very imposing, And has great agility. He does look very wierd standing next to other star's though, You know with him looking like Casper the ghost. His finisher is dog shit, It's a backbreaker, A variation of Zeke's slam. They should let him use his mighty moonsault.

Sheamus could become the new Jack Swagger for ECW. They both kick it in the ring, have a dominate finisher and talk funny. He is going to be over in WWE completley for another couple years but I could see him in ECW's main event sooner rather than later, by this winter I hope. I'm pretty excited to see how his career progresses.

I really don't know about Sheamus. I like his song, finisher, and accent, but I really don't see why I should get behind him just yet. He hasn't been very impressive on the mic, and I suppose he's good in the ring (I'm not really a good judge of that). I'd rather see him have a good feud and storyline before getting shot up to the ECW main event scene. I personally don't see him as a future ECW champion, but that's just me.

Ok. I've been on the fence about Sheamus since his debut and I think I am finally leaning towards the "I like him" side. I like his look. He has a decent build and the paleness paired with the bright red hair actually enhances his look. It makes him stand out because there is no one else that looks the way he does. He has been solid in the ring and has worked a few decent matches with Goldust. I don't think that Sheamus will ever be the next big thing, but I think he has the potential to have a successful mid card career.

This guy looks great and his feud with Goldust is that much better. Hopefully come next years draft, he could go to SmackDown! I really want to see him face Finlay. I think Finlay vs Sheamus would be a terrific match and quite a physical one at this with their english roots. Also Sheamus vs Burchill would look good too given Burchill's background. He's got the look and build and his mic skills, which don't matter to me too much if you have the other skills to make up for it, aren't bad at all. Expect big things from this big man!

Sheamus good mic work, good in the ring? Are you freaking kidding me? ECShit is awful, Sheamus is awful. Get over it.

Dude's pretty badass. He's good in the ring, plus his finisher is totally lethal looking. They could do a lot of good with him, I know he might catch some heat from being so incredibly pale whilst most of the other wrestlers are tan and whatnot, but I think that's all part of his look and what would make him succeed. I met him after the July21 SD/ECW/Superstars taping and he was real cool, signed an autograph for me, and was real nice. I hope he goes far.

Sheamus good mic work?

Yes, He can comfortably talk with a microphone in his hand, And paces his way though his promos well.

good in the ring?

Yes, Himeself, And Goldust have been having great matches over on ECW. We all know Goldust is a enhancement guy, So Sheamus must be doing something right.

Are you freaking kidding me?

Nope. I was going to ask the same of you.

ECShit is awful.

Do you watch it? Because your not watching the same fucking program as me.

Sheamus is awful.

Again, No he's not.

Get over it.

Your the one with a problem, Buddy.

Sheamus is ok, but I don't really know if there is a place for him in ECW right now. Ezeikel Jackson is basically the same thing in black, but he is better. Kozlov isn'texactly the same, but he is pretty much. People say that Sheams should go with Finlay, which I think is a lame and lazy idea, but I do think he needs to add a dimension to his work.

That being said, of the four most recent talent initiative wrestlers, he has had the most noteworthy feuds, with Goldust and now a rejuvenated Shelton Benjamin. Sheamus is the kind of guy that could profit from being in ECW for a couple of years, rather than a couple of months, because he could be made to look dominant down the road.
