The Best's WWE

Avitus25’s The Best Smackdown Review
I’ll be honest… I haven’t read any of the other posts in your thread as I’ve only just really returned to the section… but I’ll do my best reviewing Smackdown!

--- I like the commentary style straight off… Cole is as big a personality here as he is in real life so I’m looking forward to seeing how you write his commentary throughout the rest of the show. Morrison as World Champ is interesting… a lot of the other threads are pushing Morrison but to my recollection none of those I’ve read have his as World Champ so I’m definitely interested to see how you use him. I liked his promo… sounds like Morrison’s character would actually say all of those things… Storm v Morrison should be a pretty damn epic match… hope it lives up to the expectation… I liked how you wrote for Storm as well… strikes me as very similar to Punk this past few weeks in the WWE…just hope it doesn’t get too similar!

--- Jericho and Vickie!? Could be an interesting combination if this goes anywhere… two of the best heat-gatherers in wrestling… could be very interesting… Interested for Jericho and HHH… I’ll be honest I actually laughed at HHH’s comment! Sounds like something Triple H would actually say as well… this should be interesting with these two!

--- Ryder and Cole? Could be an interesting feud to happen… don’t know if I’m interested in Cole getting involved in a feud again though…

--- You seem to have talent when it comes to writing matches… I liked this a lot… a little bit of extra description might not hurt when it gets to bigger matches but this was pretty much spot on… good work! I liked all the dynamics going on in this match and I’m intrigued to see where all the participants go from here on… Hennig looks to be a major player in your BT doesn’t he!?

--- I really liked the Barrett promo and his interaction with Maria in the back… I’d be very surprised if Barrett didn’t come out of this match with the win… It’d do a lot more for his character and credibility than any of the other competitors… and (I don’t know whether this is just my personal feelings towards Barrett) he’s definitely a rising star and this would just push him that little bit further…

--- I like the challenge from Henry… something a little bit different… Also liking the dynamic of this feud between V/Henry and Kane/Undertaker… I liked the intensity that Kane showed here tonight… Cole with duct tape over his mouth? I think I’ve had dreams where that’s happened… interested to see where that goes… Ryder?

--- Jericho-HHH confrontation… not quite sure what to make of the pig comments! Refreshing to see a move away from PG but I’m not sure… just feels a bit… inappropriate? Probably just me… HHH’s comment about Joey Mercury winning the title is the EXACT type of comment he would make (and get flamed for by the internet but still!).

--- I like the confrontation but I don’t understand why Jericho invited him to the highlight reel next week rather than just carrying it on tonight? Also you didn’t explain how Cole got back in a fit state to commentate after being duct-taped? This feud is rather interesting though… just a few little niggles…

--- Morrison v Storm – REALLY hoping Morrison keeps the title… Rather short match and I don’t understand why it wasn’t the Main Event… how often do you see a World Title being defended on a TV show that isn’t the Main Event slot? Really discredits the title… Quite a short match as well… expected more between these two because of it being a title match and stuff… maybe just something to think about for next time…

--- Right Main Event time… That’s more like it… really good match… don’t know if we needed another appearance from Kane though… This is a much better length… I just wish the World Title match had been this length…

--- Overall… a very good show… some of the bits were a bit questionable (the pig, world title match on as pre-main event, Cole’s miraculous recovery etc.) but overall it was an enjoyable read. 4 Matches is probably the minimum amount you could get away with… I’d make sure not to ever include any less in a show… Keep it up though I’ll definitely continue reading!

--- Plus, feel free to drop me a review if you get any spare time!

Week 4

Key Arena, Seattle, Washington

An intro comes on, and we cut to Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler ringside.

Ross: Good evening ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to Monday Night Raw! My name is Jim Ross, and I am here alongside my long time partner in crime, Jerry “The King” Lawler, and King, Backlash is this week.

Lawler: That’s right; this is the official go-home show to Backlash, and boy do we have a card tonight.

Ross: The 5 matches will be Marcus Cor Von vs. John Cena, MVP vs. Randy Orton, Justin Gabriel and Goldberg vs. Tyler Reks and Big Show, Sabu vs. Snitsky, and Edge vs. Sin Cara.

Lawler: That Edge vs. Sin Cara match was just added, and it is sure to be a great one; along with the other ones.

**This Fire Burns**

Ross: We start out this episode of Raw with one of the men who will be in the ring, competing for the WWE Championship at Backlash, and that man is CM Punk.

Lawler: It’s going to be a true challenge for Punk, as he is taking on the nearly unstoppable Goldberg, who jackhammered Punk through the table where the contract for the match was signed last week.

Punk enters the ring with a smile on his face, as the crowd was booing him on the whole way down to the ring.

Punk: Well, it seems like we have a nice, little, overrated crowd, in a very overrated city. **crowd boos loudly** Although, that’s not what I’ here to talk about tonight, I’m here to talk about my Backlash match against Goldberg for the WWE Title. Goldberg, you are a man with great anger, but maybe that’s because your longest title reign in WWE was about a month. Maybe it’s because you only found success in one company with a bunch of has-been shells of their former selves.
Punk starts to circle around the ring.

Punk: Goldberg, don’t you understand, I don’t care how intimidating you think you are, I don’t care that you won the WCW World Championship which is probably equivalent to winning the United States Title today, and the United States Title back then, no way!

The crowd continues to boo at Punk, and let out a lot of Goldberg chants.

Punk:
You can chant Goldberg all you want, it won’t do anything, because I’m CM Punk, and I am the greatest superstar in this industry today. Losing to me in less than 5 minutes is better than gaining a 10 minute win over any other superstar in the back, and Goldberg, when I beat you at Backlash, just realize, at least it wasn’t Kevin Nash. At least you would lose your opportunity at gaining the richest prize in the history of professional wrestling to the greatest talent in the history of professional wrestling.

**Invasion**

The crowd pops loud, as Goldberg comes out to the fans shouting his name. He points at CM Punk, but doesn’t do his normal entrance, but the pyros do go off. Goldberg grabs a mic right before he gets into the ring, and right when he gets in, CM Punk steps out of the ring.

Goldberg: Come on Punk, get in, I don’t bite……..when I don’t want to. Now, Punk, I understand that you think this match is going to be a walk through the park huh? Now, are you sure that you’re straight edge, because I’ve never heard anyone say that they could beat me in a walk through the park match while not all hyped up on something. Now, the question is, are you clean Punk?

The straight edge superstar looks very mad on the outside, as he climbs onto the apron, but doesn’t get into the ring.

Punk:
I am the straight edge superstar Goldberg, and I don know that all of the brain cells you have lost may have caused you to blank out on knowing what that means. Straight edge means I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, and I don’t do drugs, which is something that obviously couldn’t be said about you.

The crowd gives Punk the loudest heat of the promo so far, at the comment where Punk suspects Goldberg on being juiced up on steroids.

Goldberg: Just because when I was a teenager, I went to the gym, and I had a life, and you sat on your couch; eating potato chips, and watching me win championships doesn’t mean you have to suspect me of being on performance enhancing drugs Punk.

Punk climbs into the ring, and is just feet away from Goldberg. Goldberg stands up straight, and is patiently waiting for Punk’s response.

Punk: Goldberg, the point is, I got here by pure heart, while you got here from weights, and a mediocre stint in the NFL.

Goldberg:
Punk, you’re next! **crowd pops at the very old; popular catch phrase**

Punk: Goldberg, the only thing I’m next for is the glory of winning the WWE Title.

The camera turns back to Goldberg, who is getting closer to Punk, as they eventually stare down, and the arena lights up with camera flashes, as they both shortly back away from each other.

Goldberg: You see Punk, tonight, I really hope that you watch my match very closely, because when I spear the Big Show halfway across the ring, and I jackhammer Tyler Reks through the ring, I hope that you think to yourself long and hard about what you’re getting into this week at Backlash..

Punk: Goldberg, I’ll be watching, and as a matter of fact, I’ll be watching very closely, because I don’t have a match. I haven’t had a match here on Raw in 2 weeks, so I’ll be at Backlash all rested, and you’ll show up there all tired and exhausted, and it will just make it even easier for me to win the WWE Title. Goldberg, I don’t want you using that as an excuse; when people ask you how did you lose, or why did you lose, I want you to say that you lost to the greatest superstar today fair and square, because that’s how it’s going to be.

Goldberg starts to smile now, as Punk returns the smile, but it’s obvious that they are both smiling at two different things.

Goldberg: Punk, that’s funny, because on Raw next week, I can’t wait to see the look on your face when I come out to the ring, and the WWE Title is strapped on my shoulder, and I come out to the ring, and say that I am the WWE champion.

Goldberg drops the mic, and walks out of the ring, as Punk is still smiling, as Goldberg’s music is blasting throughout the arena, as Goldberg makes his way to the backstage area, and we cut to Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler.

Ross:
There sure is a lot of tension between those two.

Lawler: There is JR, and that just going to make their match at Backlash that much better.

Ross: That match will be something King, and speaking of matches that will be something, and Backlash, up next we will have one of the men competing for the undisputed WWE tag team titles, Edge, taking the exciting; high flying Sin Cara, in a match that will come up next, but not until after this commercial break.

Lawler: That’s going to be one great match JR, Sin Cara has had huge challenges so far in his first 2 matches, and this match is sure no walk in the park either.

**Commercial Break**

We come back, and Sin Cara’s music hits.

**Ancient Spirit**

Sin Cara comes out to a pretty decent pop, as he does his normal high flying entrance.

Lawler: It’s really too bad that we won’t get to see the amazing Sin Cara perform at Backlash.

Ross: It sure is King; this guy is a true talent to watch live.

**You Think You Know Me**

Edge comes out to a massive pop; with Christian right by his side. Edge does his normal singles pyro, even though his tag team music is going on. Edge is very pumped up, as he stops and smiles when he’s almost all the way down the entrance ramp. Christian rubs his shoulders, and talks to him a bit, before Edge turns around, and the two shake hands and hug, as Edge enters the ring.

Lawler: Hey Christian, come down here, and do some commentary!

Christian puts his hands up, and shakes his head no, as Lawler sits back down.

Match 1

Singles Match

Sin Cara vs. Edge

The bell rings, and we’re underway, as Sin Cara quickly bounces off of the ropes, and hits a double-legged dropkick right to the face of Edge.

Lawler: Edge and Christian work so well together as a unit; they’re my favorite for the tag titles at Backlash.

Ross: They do work very well together; now let’s see how Edge does solo against this rising young superstar.

Sin Cara quickly picks up Edge, who is quick to respond, and takes Sin Cara down, which is followed by a bridge for a pin, 1, 2, no! Sin Cara was hardly able to push Edge off of him, and then he quickly gets back up, and dropkicks Edge right into the turnbuckles. Edge sits against the turnbuckles, as Sin Cara jumps onto the second turnbuckle, and climbs to the third, and jumps off, and hits Edge’s face off of the floor. Sin Cara rolls and then gets up, and hits a running dropkick right to Edge’s face, and then drags him to the center of the ring, followed by a pin, 1, 2, no! Edge got his left shoulder up; Sin Cara stands up, and waits for Edge, and when Edge does get up, Sin Cara goes for an enzuigiri, but Edge dodged the kick, and rolls up Sin Cara, 1, 2, no! Sin Cara just barely got his shoulders up; it was so close.

Edge picks Sin Cara up, and hits a back right elbow right to his face; followed up by a snapmare; followed by bouncing off of the ropes, and hitting a dropkick right to Sin Cara’s back. Edge then hits a standing leg drop, and goes for the pin, but only gets 2. Edge stands back up, and drives Sin Cara right into the turnbuckles using his shoulder; Edge continues to blast his shoulder into Sin Cara’s mid-section for a while, before he backs off, and then he hits a Russian legsweep. Edge is quickly back to his feet, as Sin Cara gets back up at a ref’s count of 4, as Edge bounces off of the ropes, and hits a big boot. Edge now goes to the corner, and sets up for a spear, Sin Cara gets up, but just as Edge was charging, and about to hit Sin Cara with the spear, SIN CARA JUMPED OVER EDGE, which caused Edge to run shoulder first right into the steel ring post, and then get thrown out of the ring by Sin Cara. Sin Cara then follows that up with a slingshot corkscrew crossbody over the top rope onto Edge on the outside.

Ross: Wow, what a move, we have to go to commercial now following that; stay tuned.

**Commercial Break**

We come back, and Edge and Sin Cara are back into the ring, and are brawling it out with all types of high flying/ technical moves. Sin Cara goes for a hurricanrana, but Edge catches him and hits a power bomb. Edge isn’t done, as he lifts Cara up again, and hits another power bomb. Edge then goes to the corner, and waits for Sin Cara to get up, which he does at a ref’s count of 7. Edge goes for an Edgecution, but Cara gets away from it, and hits a very unusual right kick right to the face of Edge. Edge falls back to the mat, and Sin Cara quickly sprits, and jumps onto the second turnbuckle, and then climbs to the third, and hits a picture perfect moonsault. Sin Cara holds his chest a lot, and for a while before he goes for the cover, 1, 2, no! Edge got his right shoulder up, now Sin Cara holds his head, and ships Edge into the corner, and tries to lift him up to the second rope, but Edge gets out of it, and slams Sin Cara’s left shoulder against the ring post.

Ross: Nice counter by Edge; a bit dirty, but a good counter.

Edge then tries to roll up Sin Cara, but doesn’t, as Sin Cara sits on him, and goes for the cover, 1, 2, no! Edge rolls Cara back over, and gets a cover, 1, 2, no! Sin Cara rolls Edge over again, 1, 2, no! Edge kick both shoulders up, as the two each get up at the same time; before the ref can even count. Edge goes for a spear, but Sin Cara dodged it, and Edge nailed the second turnbuckle. Edge gets up at a ref count of one, as Sin Cara charges, but Edge holds the ropes, and it seems that Sin Cara has gone over the ropes, but he held his ground; as Edge turns around, Sin Cara slams Edge’s throat against the top rope; Sin Cara then climbs into the ring, and goes to the top turnbuckle. Sin Cara attempts a moonsault on the standing Edge, but Edge ducked out of it, and Sin Cara hit the mat chest first. Edge then picks his opportunity, and waits for Sin Cara to get up, and hits a spear, Edge pins Sin Cara; hooking his left leg; with his right leg up in the air anyway, 1, 2, 3!
Winner: Edge (7:54)

Edge celebrates, as Christian climbs into the ring, with the crowd cheering for the duo very loud. The men shake hands and hug, and start to walk out of the ring. Just as they reach the entrance ramp, Rey Mysterio and Chavo Guerrero come out from the crowd, and jump the barricade. The two start brawling it out, with Chavo getting the upper hand on Edge, and Christian getting the upper hand on Mysterio. Chavo slings Edge right off of the steel steps, and Edge is down. Christian lifts Rey up, but Rey reverses it, and throws Christian’s head against the ring post. Rey and Chavo walk out taunting Edge and Christian to a huge mixed reaction, as they walk to the back, and we cut to Eve with Show-Miz.

Eve: I’m here with Show-Miz, which………..

Big Show: Eve, if you could kindly step away, we’ll conduct this interview.

The Miz waves his hands toward Eve, and Eve slowly and quietly walks away from the 2.

Big Show: Now, here on Raw, I will be teaming up with a respected partner of ours, Tyler Reks to take on the South African scum Justin Gabriel, and the definition of the word overrated, Goldberg.

Miz tugs on Big Show’s right arm, which brings the mic to him.

Miz: I will be off tonight, which only means that I will be that much fresher come Backlash. Backlash, the show that will see Show-Miz once again reclaim the tag team titles.

Big Show: We just saw our two opponents fight, while we are staying smart; we are staying low, and when I step into the ring later tonight, these will be doing the action for me.

Big Show makes two fists, and throws one air punch with his right hand right after giving the mic over to Miz.

Miz: We’re Show-Miz, and we’re not only awesome, we’re the best tag team WWE, and wrestling in general has to offer.

Miz throws the mic behind him, and the two walk off.

**Commercial Break**

We come back, and Snitsky and Sabu are both in the ring, with Sabu’s music still playing, as he climbs up 2 turnbuckles, and poses for the fans.

Match 2

Singles Match

Sabu vs. Snitsky

The bell rings, and Sabu starts out very fast. He runs up, and dropkicks Snitsky right in the chest. Snitsky stays up, so Sabu bounces off of the ropes, and goes for a springboard moonsault, by Snitsky catches him. Sabu is able to wiggle out of Snitsky’s hold, and as Sabu gets out, Snitsky charges towards him, but Sabu is able to pull on the ropes, and Snitsky goes flying to the outside. Sabu then slingshots himself over the top ropes, and lands right on Snitsky. Sabu then gets on top off Snitsky, and starts to pound on him with just right hands. Sabu then eventually gets up, and takes a chair out from under the ring. The ref warns Sabu that he’ll be disqualified if he uses the chair even once, and as the ref hits a count of 5, Sabu swings the chair; hitting Snitsky right on his back, and the ref calls for the bell.

Winner: Snitsky by DQ (0:58)

Sabu ignores the bell, and he continues to assault Snitsky’s back with the chair. After Sabu hit him with the chair 7 more times, he raises the chair up into the air to a pretty nice pop from the crowd. Sabu then goes under the ring again, and picks up a garbage can. Sabu first stands Snitsky up, and then he hits him in the face with the garbage can. Sabu then pulls out a table, and places it right on the edge of the entrance ramp, and then puts the garbage can on the head of Snitsky, and places Snitsky on the table. Sabu goes up to the apron, climbs the turnbuckles, turns around, and hits a leg drop right on the garbage can covering Snitsky’s face, as the table breaks as well. **Crowd pops and chants Sa-bu Sa-bu**

Ross: 3 of the 4 men competing for the hardcore title at Backlash have made their case, and I have just received word that on Smackdown, Tommy Dreamer will address the fatal 4 way match at Backlash.

Lawler: These guys are crazy JR, I tell you; just look at what Sabu just did; it’s unbelievable, even though I do think that match at Backlash will be great.

We go back to the ring, as Sabu climbs up one of the turnbuckles, and signals that he wants the title to a huge pop, and lots of camera flashes from the crowd.

**Commercial Break**

We come back, and we’re ready for the 1 of our 3 huge matches tonight.

**I’m Comin**

MVP comes out, and does his normal basketball type entrance.

Lawler: Remember, just a couple of weeks ago, Marcus Cor Von costed MVP a match against Rikishi, and then the next week, Cor Von said that he only did it because MVP “stole” his nickname.

Ross: Yes, that’s what happened, and it is very silly of someone like Cor Von to light a fire in MVP.

**Voices**

Randy Orton comes out to major heat, as MVP waits for his opponent to come down to the ring. Orton comes down very slowly, as MVP starts to mock him.

Match 3

Singles Match

MVP vs. Randy Orton

The bell rings, and MVP and Orton lock up, as Orton gains the advantage. Orton has a side headlock in, as MVP escapes it by throwing Orton off of the ropes, and then shoulder blocking Orton right down to the mat. MVP follows it up by bouncing off of the ropes, and hurdles Orton, and as he comes back, Orton got up, and hits a missile dropkick right to the face of MVP. MVP gets up, and eats an atomic drop from Orton, which follows up with Orton bouncing off of the ropes, and hitting a clothesline. Orton starts to stomp a mud hole into MVP, and when he finishes with that, he whips MVP hard into the turnbuckles, which MVP hits with his chest, and he then falls to the mat. Orton stalks MVP, and hits his signature backbreaker. Orton covers MVP, 1, 2, no! MVP got his left shoulder up, which got Orton mad for not hooking the leg.

Orton gets back up, and waits for MVP who gets up at a ref’s count of 4. Orton goes for a RKO, but MVP shoves him off, and goes for a big boot, but Orton ducks it, and kicks MVP in the gut. Orton stalls for a little bit, but then eventually hits a neck breaker on MVP. Orton goes for a cover, but only gets 1, as MVP gets up right away, and starts to hit Orton with rights and lefts, before Orton hits MVP with a knee to the gut; followed by Orton climbing up the second rope, and hitting a move that we normally see from John Cena, a leg drop to the back of the head, but this time it was just from the second rope.

Ross: Orton seems like he’s trying to get inside the head of a certain opponent he’ll be facing at Backlash with that move, King.

Lawler: I agree JR; I wonder how Cena is taking in all of this.

Orton gets back up at a ref’s count of 2, and hits an Olympic slam on MVP. The screen now cuts to John Cena watching the match from his locker room, as Orton hits a standing elbow drop. Orton picks up MVP, and hits 2 right hands followed with a right kick to the gut, and then another right hand. Orton then picks MVP up on his shoulders. **crowd boos wildly**

Ross: Maybe another move to send a message to John Cena, eh King?

Lawler: Well, we’ll see.

Instead of doing the move that the fans were jeering for, Orton drops MVP on the apron on the other side of the ropes, and kicks him in the gut. Orton grabs MVP in a guillotine choke/ DDT position, pulls MVP in between the second and third ropes, taunts to the crowd, as there is spit or “venom” coming out of Orton’s mouth, and then hits his signature DDT. **crowd boos** Orton looks to set up for a RKO, but instead backs up into a corner, and is lining up MVP for a punt. MVP gets up, as Randy charges, but MVP side steps it, and backs out of the ring.

Ross: MVP was lucky; he barely got out of the ring to avoid that punt from Randy Orton.

Lawler: That he did JR; wow that was a close call.

Ross: I don’t think MVP would be in any kind of shape to compete at Backlash if Orton hit that punt. Well, we have to go to commercial now, but stay tuned, as Randy Orton vs. MVP continues.

**Commercial Break**

We come back, and MVP is setting up for the playmaker. Orton is able to get out of it, as we recap what happened over the break, as we see MVP whipping Orton into the steel ring steps outside of the ring, and MVP getting into the ring at 7, and Orton getting in the ring at 9. Orton now goes for a clothesline, but MVP ducks it, and hits a overhead belly to belly suplex to Orton, as MVP goes for his first cover of the match, 1, 2, no! Orton got his left shoulder up, even though MVP hooked Orton’s right leg, but MVP is not upset or frustrated. MVP sits on his knees, and he starts to smile. **crowd pops and chants ballin** MVP stands up, and gets Orton into position, bounces off of the ropes, and hits the ballin elbow right to the upper chest area of Orton. MVP now gets onto his left knee, and waits for Orton to get up a ref’s count of 4, and attempts a drive by kick, but Orton countered it into a rollup, 1, MVP kicks out by getting both of his shoulders up!

Ross: MVP should have covered Orton after that elbow drop; it really seemed like he had Orton.

Both men are up, and MVP charges at Orton, who locks in a sleeper hold on MVP. MVP fights it for a little while, until the referee comes over to check on MVP. He raises MVP’s arm up once, and drops it; no response from MVP. The ref repeats the process, and again, no response from MVP. The ref does it again, but this time MVP holds his arm up just as it was about to go all the way down. MVP then sprints towards the ropes, and is able to get his right hand on the ropes, and Orton lets go at a ref’s count of 3. MVP then runs at Orton, and hits a huge flying knee, which knocks Orton down. MVP shouts that he’s got it this time. **crowd pops** MVP chants I’m just ballin; watch out Cor Con. **crowd pops even louder** MVP goes for a drive by kick, but again, Orton counters it again, but this time he hits a RKO out of nowhere, as he quickly goes for the cover by hooking MVP’s right leg, 1, 2, 3!
Winner: Randy Orton (11:01)

Orton celebrates by raising his hand up, as MVP quickly gets up, and charges toward Orton, but Orton is hardly able to get out of the ring before MVP was about to attack.

Ross: Orton stole that match! MVP looked to be in complete control, until Orton hits a RKO out of nowhere.

Lawler: If I were John Cena, I would be extra careful at Backlash to make sure that I don’t eat that RKO out of nowhere. John I know you here this, and I know you just saw that; be careful!

MVP continues to trash talk Randy Orton, until Orton smiles, and points to MVP, who turns around, and it’s Marcus Cor Von standing right behind MVP. Cor Von hits a belly to black side slam, which gains major heat from the crowd; Cor Von then picks MVP up, whips him off of the ropes, and hits The Pounce! **crowd boos wildly** Cor Von turns to Orton, who just simply nods his head at Cor Von, and Cor Von returns the nod back to Orton.

Ross: We have to take another commercial break, but coming up next, Alberto Del Rio will come out here, and speak on his Backlash situation.

**Commercial Break**

We come back, and Ricardo Rodriguez is in the ring; ready to introduce Alberto Del Rio.

**Realeza**

Alberto Del Rio comes out to a huge introduction by Ricardo Rodriguez; along with huge heat as well. Del Rio is riding a 1990 Honda NSX worth $50,000$. Del Rio makes his way to the ring in a suit and tie; along with a scarf, as he taunts the crowd. We see Ricardo clapping like a kid in a toy shop inside of the ring, as he sits on the second rope to help Del Rio in right after he climbed the steel steps.

Del Rio: My name…… my name is Alberto Dellll Riooooo! Now, for all of you pathetic Northern Americans here in Seattle, I will cut this promo in ALL ENGLISH right here tonight.

The crowd jeers loudly at the mean American remark by Del Rio.

Del Rio: Now, at Backlash, I currently do not have a match.

The crowd cheers loudly now.

Del Rio: I do not have a match at Backlash, I Albertooooo Del Rioooo doesn’t have a match at Backlash.

The crowd continues to cheer loudly.

Del Rio: No need to be alarmed though, as right here; right now I am offering up something that usually I don’t even need to offer up. And that is an open challenge. It’s an open challenge for anyone in that locker room back there to face me, Albertoooooo Delllllll Rioooooooooooooo at Backlash. **Crowd chants we don’t want you and you can’t wrestle at the Mexican superstar** You can chant all you want, because all of your money that you’re paying in to sit in the seats that you’re all sitting in, just goes into my pocket. It goes into my pocket, so that I could by more beautiful cars, like that nice; elegant 1990 Honda NSX worth $50,000$. That’s money that you all wish that you could have, now let’s wait, and see who has the balls to accept my challenge.

Alberto Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez wait for a little while, until a very familiar tune hits.

**Realeza**

Alberto and Ricardo look at each other in confusion, and then laugh, until they see Rikishi coming out from behind the car Alberto drove into the arena. Alberto and Ricardo now look at each other in anger and frustration when Rikishi climbs up to the hood on top of the front of the car. Rikishi taps his butt with both hands twice, until he drops his butt on the car, which when he gets up, a huge dent on the hood in the front of the car is revealed. Del Rio is just standing there all mad, and Rodriguez is running around the ring in anger, as Rikishi makes his way towards the ring.

Ross: Big Rikishi is sending a message to Del Rio here.

Lawler: I think this means Rikishi just accepted the open challenge put up by Del Rio.

Ross: I would think so, King.

Rikishi steps in the ring, and ADR goes on the attack right away, hitting lefts and rights, but Rikishi is eventually able to push him away, and off of him. Rikishi then throws a BIG right hand, which throws Del Rio off balance, and ADR leaves the ring. Rikishi is now alone in the ring with Ricardo Rodriguez. Ricardo attempts to get out of the ring, but Rikishi stops him by pulling on his right arm, and eventually hitting a Samoan Drop. Rikishi then drags Rodriguez over to one of the corners, and hits a Banzai Drop right on Ricardo. Rikishi then gets up, and points to Del Rio, who is making his way up the entrance ramp; looking very frightened.

Ross: Rikishi, Rikishi! Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s going to be Alberto Del Rio taking on the big Samoan Rikishi at Backlash.

Lawler: Man that match is going to create fireworks, but coming up next, we will have the Intercontinental Champion, Justin Gabriel and Goldberg taking on the team of Tyler Reks and Big Show.

The camera cuts to Goldberg looking very focused and angry, as he gets ready for his tag team match up next.

**Commercial Break**

We come back, and Tyler Reks’ music hits.

**Tyrannosaurus**

Tyler Reks comes out in a new shirt, and with huge heat. He signals that he wants the title many times as he walks down the ramp.

**Crank It Up**

Big Show comes out to massive heat with The Miz right by his side. Miz is showing off Big Show to the fans, as Big Show looks focused. Big Show enters the ring, and he bumps his right knuckle with Reks’ left, and Reks and Miz shake each of their right hands, as Miz whispers something into Big Show’s ear, and then taps his left fist on Reks right shoulder, before leaving the ring.

**Black Or White**

Justin Gabriel comes out to a MASSIVE pop. Gabriel shows the fans the Intercontinental Title, as Reks just gets angrier with every step Gabriel takes. Gabriel then looks like he’s about to run and slide into the ring, but he just stops and smiles, before he points to the backstage area, as he waits for his opponent, Goldberg.

**Invasion**

Goldberg comes out to a pop that made even Gabriel’s look weak. Goldberg does his traditional striking pyro, as he makes his way down the entrance ramp, and right before he enters the ring, he taps Gabriel on the back 3 times with his left hand, before the 2 enter the ring, as Reks exits, as Big Show stays.

Match 4

Tag Team Match

Justin Gabriel and Goldberg vs. Tyler Reks and Big Show

The bell rings, and Tyler Reks is still on the outside of the ring, and Big Show and goes after Justin Gabriel; grabbing him with two hands by the head, and tossing him across the ring. Goldberg then shoves Big Show, but the ref gets in the middle of the two, and Goldberg eventually gives up, and goes over to his corner. Big Show goes over to Gabriel, but Gabriel fights back from his butt; hitting Big Show with 3 right hands, and then a left, and then another right, which causes Big Show to lose balance, and nearly fall forward, but Tyler Reks got up on the apron, and tags himself in; much to the displeasure of The Big Show. Reks comes in, and right away he starts stomping away at Gabriel. Reks then locks in a side headlock, and now the two of them are on the ground. Gabriel punches the mat which gets the fans excited, while Goldberg waves his hands in the air, which makes the crowd even more pumped up. Gabriel is able to get up, and hits 2 back elbows right to the stomach of Reks; followed by a right hand to Reks’ face. Gabriel then sprints over to the corner, and tags in Goldberg, as Reks goes to his corner to tag in Big Show, Big Show steps off of the apron, and down to the outside, with even The Miz looking a little confused.

Ross: Maybe some payback from that blind tag, eh King?

Lawler: I don’t think that it really matters JR, but now Reks has to go up against a guy who not to many people in that locker room would like to go up against.

Goldberg runs toward Reks, and shoulder blocks him with his left shoulder, which sends Reks flying off of the ropes, which Goldberg follows up with a scoop slam. Goldberg then picks up Reks, and hits a running powerslam, and goes for the pin, 1, 2, no! Reks got his right shoulder up, even though Goldberg hooked the left leg; now Goldberg picks Reks up, and Reks starts to hit Goldberg in the stomach with 6 right hands; followed by a left. Reks then hits a STO on Goldberg which knocks the big man down. Reks then bounces off of the ropes, and hits a standing leg drop. Reks gets up, and right away he drops an elbow to the upper chest of Goldberg. Big Show is now ready to get tagged in, and Reks runs over to him, and tags him in.

Big Show comes out, and steps over Goldberg. He then picks Goldberg up, and leans him up against the ropes, and delivers a huge right handed chop to the chest of Goldberg, which was so hard, even Goldberg is in a huge amount of pain. Big Show then follows it up with bouncing off of the ropes, and hitting a big boot. The Miz stays on the outside; cheering on his partner, as Reks just has a cold stare from his corner over to his Backlash opponent, Justin Gabriel in the other corner. Big Show waits for Goldberg to get up, which he does at a ref’s count of 3, and Big Show delivers a huge back handed chop right to Goldberg’s upper chest area. Big Show then looks at his fist, and sets up for his big knockout punch. Goldberg gets up, and Big Show swings, but Goldberg dodges it, and his able to hit a non-running spear to Big Show. **crowd pops loud, as they chant on Goldberg and Gabriel** Both men are crawling towards their respective corners; Goldberg tags in Gabriel first, which is shortly followed up with Big Show using his massive arms/reach to tag in Reks.

Lawler: Here come the two guys that will be fighting for the Intercontinental Title in just 6 days.

Ross: I’m still surprised that Goldberg both needed that tag, and the fact that he was able to drop The Big Show with that spear.

Gabriel charges in fast, but Reks charges in even faster, and hits a huge clothesline which just about flips Gabriel over. Reks waits for Gabriel to get up, and he hits a spinning side slam to the South African Intercontinental Champion. Reks goes for the cover, 1, 2, no! Gabriel got both of his shoulders up, as Reks hooked Gabriel’s right leg; with his left leg in the air too, Reks gets up, and whips Gabriel into the corner, which he tries to follow up with a huge splash, but Gabriel side stepped out of the way. Gabriel then kicks Reks in the stomach with his left boot, and hits a DDT.

Ross: The momentum is definitely shifting in Gabriel’s favor now!

Gabriel looks like he’s going to climb up to the top rope, and go for his finisher, the 450 splash, but Reks is somehow able to roll up Gabriel into a small package, 1, 2, no! Gabriel got both of his shoulders up, and now Reks gets up, and goes for The Burning Hammer, but Gabriel reverses it, and shoves Reks’ head against the top turnbuckle of Reks’ corner. Big Show then wisely tags himself in, and charges towards Gabriel and hits a right elbow to the side of Gabriel’s head. Big Show then picks Gabriel up, and hits his signature leg drop on the Intercontinental Champion. Big Show goes for the pin, and hooks Gabriel’s left leg, 1, 2, no! Goldberg came in, and broke up the pin, which causes The Miz to go up on the apron, and argue with the ref. Tyler Reks then comes out, and charges toward both Goldberg and Gabriel, but Goldberg just easily sends Reks flying over the top rope, and to the outside near the entrance ramp. Goldberg then sees that Miz is still arguing with the ref, and he sets Big Show up, and hits a Spear! Miz is now freaking out; telling the ref to turn around, but Goldberg left the ring just before the ref turned around. Gabriel then climbs up to the top rope, and hits a 450 splash; Gabriel barely hooks Big Show’s right leg, 1, 2, 3!
Winner: Justin Gabriel and Goldberg (9:20)

Goldberg climbs into the ring, and him and Gabriel celebrate to a huge pop from the crowd. They shake hands, and Goldberg pats Gabriel on the back, as Goldberg exits, which leaves Gabriel standing in the ring alone, as Big Show rolled out of the ring, to the comfort of The Miz. Gabriel then celebrates more with the title in his hand, as the arena lights up with camera flashes from the crowd.

Lawler: What a match, but now we have to cut it to Josh Matthews backstage with a man who we just saw out here.

The camera cuts to Josh Matthews who seems like he is standing there alone, until Goldberg comes walking fast right next to Matthews.

Matthews: I’m here with Goldberg, now Goldberg……..

Goldberg: CM Punk! I hope that you’re ready for Backlash, because I sure am. When we step into the ring, and it’s just us and the referee, and that bell rings, there is going to be a train, a storm; an animal coming for you. CM Punk, You’re next!

Goldberg walks off; looking very focused, mad, and ready to beat up CM Punk, as we go back to Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler.

Ross: Ladies and Gentlemen, up next we will have our main event between John Cena and Marcus Cor Von; stay tuned.

**Commercial Break**

We come back, and we are ready for our main event, as Marcus Cor Von’s music hits.

**Smooth**

Cor Von comes out to huge heat, as he walks down the ramp, he smacks a MVP/John Cena/Goldberg sign from a from a kid with a sticker that says he’s celebrating his 8th birthday.

Ross: Now, this man is quickly becoming one of the most disliked men in this company, King.

Lawler: It’s completely unnecessary too, JR! He just has too short of a temper, and too thin of a mind to control it in my opinion.

Ross: Watch your mouth King, he’s not that far away from us!

**The Time Is Now**

John Cena comes out to a huge pop, as he salutes the crowd, and sprints into the ring. Cena enters the ring, and quickly takes his shirt off, and gives his dog tag to the referee, and he is ready to get this match started.

Ross: Ladies and Gentlemen, just like the tag team match we just had, we will be bringing this match to you with no commercial interruptions, so you all will be able to enjoy this match to its fullest.

Match 5

Singles Match

John Cena vs. Marcus Cor Von

The bell rings, and we’re ready to start, as Cena and Cor Von lock up. Cor Von does something not too many other men who have stepped inside of the ring with Cena have done, and over powered Cena, and brings him into a corner. Cor Von then whips Cena into the opposite corner, and follows that up with a running slam, but going butt first on this one. Cor Von then whips Cena off of the ropes, and he’s quickly going for the pounce, but Cena caught the sprinting Cor Von, and brings him on his shoulder; going for the attitude adjustment. Cor Von is able to power out, and hit an inverted DDT on Cena, and he is still surprised that Cena was able to counter the pounce, and pick him up.

Lawler: This animal, Cor Von was looking to win this match very quickly.

Ross: That he was King, but I’m surprisingly not surprised.

Lawler: Alright JR, whatever you say, haha.

We go back to the action, and Cor Von decides to go for the cover, and hooks Cena’s right leg, 1, no! Cena easily got his left shoulder up, and he quickly gets back up, and back body drops the charging Cor Von all the way down the mat below. Cena then follows that up with a reverse headlock, but Cor Von easily powers out of it by picking up Cena, and slamming him to the mat below. Cor Von then bounces off of the ropes, and goes for a leg drop, but Cena sat up, and Cor Von hit his right leg on the mat. Cena then quickly picks himself up, and bounces off of the ropes, and hits a facebuster on The Alpha Male. Cena then puts his hand up in the air, and does the you can’t see me taunt to Cor Von, with the crowd saying it as Cena does it, and Cena hits a 5 knuckle shuffle. Cor Von then turns to his back, and Cena is able to lock in the STF.

Ross: STF, STF! Cena can win the match right here, and go into Backlash with a W on his shoulder.

Cor Von struggles for a while, before somehow picking himself up; with Cena still applying the STF to Cor Von. The Alpha Male then brings Cena over to the ropes, and flips him to the outside of the ring. Cor Von then follows him out, and starts to pound on him, as the ref starts counting.

**1**

Cor Von whips Cena HARD into the wall separating the fans from the outside of the ring, and then starts to rain down rights and lefts on Cena.

**2**

Cor Von then drags Cena all the way to the opposite side, and just simply tosses Cena’s face into the steel ring post.

**3**

There is just a very small cut on top of Cena’s right eye, as Cor Von is not letting up, as he continues to pound on John Cena.

**4**

Cor Von now takes Cena by the back and shorts, and throws him into the wall again, but this time Cena nearly flips all the way over, as Cor Von enters the ring.

**5**

Cena stays down on the ground holding his back, as Cor Von just stands on the edge of the ropes; looking at the titantron.

**6**

Cena starts to try to get up, as Cor Von continues to just stare at the titantron, which is showing Cena’s struggle to get back to his feet.

**7**

Cena is up on his feet, as Cor Von is now leaning on the ropes; still staring at the titantron.

**8**

Cena is walking now, as the camera cuts back to Cor Von, who is now smiling, and still leaning on the ropes. Cena is able to slide under the bottom rope, and get into the ring.

Ross: Cena’s back in the ring; now we can get back to the action.

Cena and Cor Von start trading blows. Rights and lefts fly by both men, with lots of hits and misses by both men. Cena decides to keep the match moving, as he bounces off of the ropes, and ducks a clothesline attempt, but on the way back, Cor Von hits a scoop slam on Cena. Cor Von starts to taunt the crowd, as he brings Cena up to his feet, and goes for a full nelson suplex, but Cena is able to break free of the hold, and start to throws punches and elbows at Cor Von. Cena continues to throw strikes until he bounces off of the ropes, and this time, he hits a clothesline. Cor Von gets up quickly, and Cena hits him with another clothesline, and Cor Von is up quickly again, and another clothesline, and you guessed it, Cor Von gets up again, and Cena bounces off of the ropes, and hits the biggest; hardest clothesline he has all night. Cena gets up, and waits for Cor Von, who gets up very slowly at the ref’s count of 5. Cena then shows his face right to Cor Von, who attempts to swing at him with a clothesline, only for Cena to easily reverse it into a suplex. Cena then picks Cor Von up, and with all of his strength, whips Cor Von hard into the corner, which Cor Von hits back first, but still rebounds off of the turnbuckles, only to eat an inverted bulldog from Cena.

Cena now climbs all the way to the top rope, and waits for Cor Von to get into position. When Cor Von does, Cena hits his signature leg drop right onto the back of the neck of Cor Von. Cena’s feeling it; Cena’s fired up, as Cor Von gets up, and Cena attempts to go for the attitude adjustment, but Cor Von managed to escape it again, and push Cena away. Cor Von attempts a running shoulder block to Cena, but Cena counters it by hitting a drop toe hold into a STF! Cor Von is in deep pain, and he can feel it, as Cor Von comes inches away from the ropes. Cor Von is about to tap, but decides not to, as he thinks that he can make it to the ropes, and break the hold. Cor Von struggles, but finally makes it to the ropes, as he reaches his right hand out, and grabs the ropes. Cena has none of it though, as he pulls Cor Von back to the center of the ring, and re-locks the STF back in! Cor Von is just about to tap, as Randy Orton jumps on the apron, and gets into the ring. Cena releases the hold, and catches the charging Orton, and hits an attitude adjustment to Orton! Cena then stomps Orton once with his right boot.

Ross: Cena was looking for that move, the attitude adjustment all match, but he hit it on the guy not in the match.

Lawler:
I really don’t like to say it, but Cor Von isn’t out just yet.

Ross: I agree King, now let’s see how the rest of this match plays out.

Cena continues to look at Orton, who is on his back on the outside, but out of nowhere, Marcus Cor Von got up, and he grabs Cena’s back to turn him around, whips Cena off of the ropes, and hits The Pounce, Cor Von hooks both of Cena’s legs, 1, 2, 3!
Winner: Marcus Cor Von (14:41)

Cor Von celebrates his hard fought victory by raising his hands high in the air, as Cena and Orton are both down on the ground.

Lawler: Wow, what a finish, even though it makes me sick that this idiot Marcus Cor Von had to come up with the win.

Ross: What confidence this man will have going into Backlash, which by the way is this Sunday!

Lawler: That’s right JR, Backlash is just 6 days away, and until then, I’m Jerry Lawler; along with Jim Ross, we’ll see you at Backlash; good night!

Cor Von continues to celebrate, but this time outside of the ring, as his music plays, and Cena is getting up; looking both mad and sad that he let that match get away from him.

Hey Best, I admit I really enjoyed the go home show for Backlash. I loved the Punk/Goldberg promo in the beginning. I could totally see Punk saying all of this. Goldberg did talk a little too much though. A monster like him should keep it short and simple. Good hype for their match.

Liked the Sabu match. Showing us how crazy he really is and how far he'll go to get the Hardcore title at Backlash.

Randy Orton vs MVP was match of the night IMO. Two great young studs put on a great match up. Expected Orton to get the one here and he did and Cor Von drops him with the Pounce to build their match.

The Rikishi/Del Rio promo was done well, but what would've made it really good is if Ricardo got the stinkface. Talk about throwing salt on the wounds for their Backlash match.

The Tag Team Match was what I expected. Nothing long and drawn out here. Good win by Goldberg and Justin Gabriel. Now, the promo Goldberg cut after the match. That's the Monster I wanna see more of. I feel as if Punk should've interfered and add more build to their match. It is for the WWE Championship, but should be good nonetheless.

Cena vs Cor Von was a pretty good match. Wasn't expecting Cor Von to get the win here. Orton interfering was a nice touch and sets the stage for Backlash.

The show was good and had the good and bad. More promos from most of the superstars wouldn't hurt, but I'm looking forward to Backlash.

wrestlingfan, you need to give me the correct confidence points, or else I won't be able to count the match winners.

Thanks guys, and to those of you who haven't sent their predictions in, Backlash is coming in fast. Thanks guys; have a nice day.

Promo to open the show between Punk and Goldberg was gold. Punk was typically awesome and Goldberg fed off of his heat. The tension between the two is immense, really glad you chose to do this match because it’s something I want to see. Whatever happens at Backlash, I don’t think the feud will end there as I think there is much more tension between to two for the feud to finish at Backlash.
Good solid match between Sin Cara and Edge, I’ve only just joined this site so I haven’t been able to catch up fully with your show but for nostalgic reasons I’m really happy you united Edge and Christian. Is Rey a heel ? Because that attack on Edge and Christian made him look like one and it just seems strange to see Rey do something like that.
Loved that Sabu moment on Snitsky where he just went to town on him. Adds a bit of edge to the show which is certainly not a bad thing. I’m a big Sabu mark because of his hardcore way combined with his daredevil attitude in the ring so a push for him will go down great in my book.
Completely expected Orton to go over MVP and that’s not necessarily a bad thing because it builds the feud with Cena so close to Backlash. MVP also got a decent amount of offense on Orton in the match which allows MVP to move on from this loss and continue, I was never a big fan of MVP when he was in the WWE so if you bury him *wink wink* I won’t criticise you for it.
As soon as Del Rio issued the challenge I knew someone from the locker room would appear and I’m glad it was Rikishi. Just be careful you don’t turn this feud into a comedy feud which is what I usually see Rikishi as, Del Rio needs to be seen as a top heel and by getting involved with Rikishi he may not be taken seriously. Deal with Rikishi swiftly and get him involved with bigger name superstars.
I see your’re giving Justin Gabriel quite a big push by teaming him up with Goldberg, I knew they would win with Backlash so close. Goldberg needed to keep up his dominant character going into Backlash and your portrayed that in this match. Goldberg must have gotten backstage pretty quickly, seemed like a second ago he was celebrating his victory with Gabriel :D.
Main event was a bitter sweet moment for Cena. Sweet because he hit the Attitude Adjustment on Orton but bitter because it allowed Cor Von to capitalise. Big win for Cor Von and I’m undecided on whether he deserves to be in the main event, just keep building him as a major heel and we’ll see how his character develops. He could potentially be massive for your promotion if you can consistently get him involved with the big boys.

Week 4

Power Balance Pavilion, Sacramento, California

An intro comes on, and we cuts to Michael Cole sitting ringside with Mick Foley.

Cole: Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I’m Michael Cole, the voice of the WWE; alongside the slacker slob, Mick Foley, and this is Friday Night Smackdown.

Foley: After ignoring your childish comment Cole, tonight we have a great lineup for all of you fans out there. Tonight, our confirmed lineup is Joe Hennig vs. Booker T, Chris Jericho has HHH on the highlight reel, after HHH embarrassed him last week.

Cole: What HHH did last week was completely un-called for; I have no clue what his motive was for that!

Foley: Again, ignoring Cole’s comment, we will also have Big Daddy V take on Rey Mysterio.

Cole: Haha, Rey has no chance!

Foley puts his left hand up to Michael Cole’s face.

Foley: We will also have Wade Barrett take on Santino Marella, and Tommy Dreamer address the fatal 4 way hardcore match at Backlash for the Hardcore Title that Dreamer will be competing in.

Cole: What’s wrong with you tonight Foley? I just told a joke.

Foley moves his head, and stares at Cole.

Cole: Fine, I’m sorry Mick; c’mon, Backlash is this Sunday; even though we won’t be commentating during that pay per view, because it’s just a Raw pay per view, we’ll both be backstage watching the show with some beautiful Los Angeles girls; let’s just get along up until then.

Cole extends a hand, and Foley shakes it.

Foley: Alright Cole, so beautiful Los Angeles girls, I guess I’ll be watching with Maria, while you’re with your mom.

Cole looks stunned as he stares at Foley.

Foley: It was just a joke Cole; calm down.

Cole just turns back around, and focuses his attention on the ring, and the entrance ramp.

**Written In My Face**

Sheamus comes out to some decent heat, as he walks towards the ring with a microphone in his hand.

Sheamus: Now, last week, I had a tag team match, which I came up losing. The thing is, I carried the team; Mark Henry was too distracted. The time of that match was 13:03, and I feel like it wouldn’t have gone past 3 minutes if I wasn’t there.

Sheamus looks towards the entrance ramp.

Sheamus: Also, last week, John Morrison defeated Lance Storm to retain the world title. **crowd pops loudly for the Morrison reference** That leaves John without a real challenger. John, there’s no one else on this brand who can compete with me and you. John, don’t make that excuse that you beat me in the first round of the Championship Tournament, because you know that for 15:37 I beat your ass all throughout Philadelphia.

Crowd starts to boo, as Sheamus starts taunting everybody until John Morrison’s music hits.

**Ain’t No Make Believe**

Morrison comes out with the belt, and a more than massive crowd reaction. Morrison comes into the ring, and rips the microphone Sheamus was using (with his right hand) out of his right hand.

Morrison: Sheamus, you think you deserve a shot at this?

Morrison holds the title up high with his right hand, which gets a massive pop from the crowd, and Sheamus is nearly boiling in anger.

**I Walk Alone**

Batista comes out to a massive pop from the crowd. The pop wasn’t as loud as Morrison’s, but Batista is still really over with the crowd as he steps into the ring. Batista goes over to the other side of the ring, reaches through the middle and top ropes with his right hand, and grabs a mic from one of the referees.

Batista: Sheamus, you don’t deserve that match! I was the face of Smackdown for years; when I was world champion, Smackdown was on top. My feuds with The Undertaker, **pops from crowd** Edge, **more pops from the crowd in addition to the ones from The Undertaker reference** and The Great Khali **massive jeers from the crowd** were some of the best in Smackdown history.

Morrison continues to look on, as Sheamus is still very angry.

Batista: I deserve my shot, because………..

**Mr. Vain**

Lance Storm comes out dressed in all wrestling gear; just like the rest of them, as he slides into the ring, ad grabs a mic.

Storm: Guys, c’mon, you know that I had that match won. All of the marks out there know that they were chatting on their LD’s saying, Storm is going to go over here; I feel it. While all of the “fans out here, were sitting at home; cuddling up with a love one; sweating with fear at the fact that John Morrison was about to lose.

Morrison: Lance, it didn’t go that way; I’m sorry.

Sheamus: I think it did John.

Storm:
The point is, out of all of you 3, I deserve to be the World Champion. That’s why, I want a rematch.

**MacMillitant**

Teddy Long comes out on the entrance ramp with a mic in his hand, and he stops short on the entrance ramp.

Long: Now, Lance, as much as I agree with you, it wouldn’t be fair to give you a rematch right away.

The crowd pops, as Storm looks mad, as Batista and Morrison start to laugh, as Sheamus stays focused on Long.

Long: Now, tonight though, Sheamus, I’m granting you your match. Later on tonight, it will be Sheamus vs. John Morrison.

There’s a mixed reaction from the crowd, as Sheamus’ face bolts up in happiness, as Morrison walks up to Sheamus, and raises up the belt right to his face.

Long: Playas, playas, it’s a non-title match; calm down.

Morrison smiles, as Batista laughs, and Sheamus turns around, and focuses on Long, as Teddy smiles.

Long: Sheamus if you win that match, then you’re in the running of the number one contender race, and you will face the winner of Batista vs. Lance Storm which will be going on later tonight, next week.

Cole: Wow, what an announcement by our brilliant General Manager, Teddy Long!

Long: Also, John, if you purposely get disqualified, counted out, or interfere in the Lance Storm vs. Batista match, then you will be stripped of your title.

John looks angry, as the crowd boos very loudly.

Long: Holla, holla boys; have a good night.

Teddy Long walks out back to the backstage area to major heat from the crowd, as Morrison climbs the turnbuckle, and hold s the title up high with his right hand, and then with both hands, as the other 3 men look on from just about the center of the ring.

Foley: Up next, we will have Rey Mysterio take on Big Daddy V.

Cole: You mean, up next, Rey Mysterio gets forced out of Backlash due to injury, as he steps into the ring, with the massive; dominating Big Daddy V.

Foley:
Yes Cole, and then the tag team titles won’t come to Smackdown; really good call.

Lance Storm starts to leave the ring, with Morrison pointing at him with his right index finger, and the title on the opposite shoulder, as Storm doesn’t take his eyes off of Morrison.

**Commercial Break**

We come back, and Rey Mysterio’s music hits.

**We Lie, We Cheat, We Steal**

Rey and Chavo come out without a low rider tonight, to a pretty big pop from the crowd.

Cole: Now Foley, if you watched Raw on Monday night, then you saw these two blindside Edge and Christian.

Foley: They were just trying to send a message Cole; I talked to Chavo earlier in the week after Raw, and he said that it was just to get the upper hand.

Cole: I still don’t like it.

**Rap Sheet**

Big Daddy V comes out with only Mark Henry by his side.

Cole: Now, if we could go back to last week.

The titantron shows the kidnapping, while Cole explains it.

Cole: The lights went out, and Matt Striker was not at ringside anymore. Then I spoke my mind, and said that it was obviously The Undertaker, and then the lights went out again, and my mouth was taped shut!

Foley: That was my favorite part of the show! Also, at Saturday Night’s Main Event, it will be Mark Henry taking on Kane in a car pulling contest.

Cole: For those of you that don’t know what it is, one you probably live in a box, and two, it’s a contest that’s used in The World’s Strongest Man Competition, and Henry is easily going to destroy Kane in that contest.

Foley: Don’t count out Kane just yet Cole. Remember, he’s no 5’6, 140 pound weakling.

Cole: Hey, like Rey Mysterio; up high!

Cole puts his hand up for Foley to high five it, but Foley turns him down.

Foley: Let’s just start this match.

Match 1

Singles Match

Big Daddy V vs. Rey Mysterio

The bell rings, and Rey starts out on the aggressive side by throwing leg kicks at Daddy, which barely brush him off. Daddy pushes Rey to the ground to huge heat from the crowd, as Mark Henry puts his head in between the first and second ropes, and starts to heckle Mysterio, but then Rey whips his right hand back, and slaps Henry right across the face. The ref goes over to talk to Henry, as Chavo sneaks back, grabs a chair, and throws it to Rey in the ring. Rey hits Daddy over the head twice, and then on the back once, which sends Daddy to one leg. Henry starts to complain to the referee to turn around, and just as the referee does, Rey throws the chair back out of the ring to Chavo, who put it back right by the time keeper. Rey than quickly climbs to the top rope, and waits for Daddy to get up, and when he’s just about all the way up, Rey leaps off of the turnbuckles, and hits a flying bulldog!

Foley: Rey bringing out a side that we haven’t seen in a long time; not since back in his ECW days.

Cole: Although I usually don’t like Rey’s personality, what he just did does earn him some of my respect.

Foley:
I’m sure that he’ll be jumping for joy once he hears that one Cole.

Rey waits for Daddy to get up, and when he does, Rey goes for his inverted bulldog, by Daddy counters it, and slams Rey backwards. Rey holds his back for a while after the move, as Daddy gets up at a ref’s count of 4; Rey at a ref’s count of 8. Ray runs towards Daddy, and Daddy hits a spinning side slam to Rey. Chavo jumps on the apron, but Daddy takes him out with a shoulder block. Daddy then picks up Rey, and whips him into a corner, which follows up by Daddy bouncing off of the ropes, and crushing Rey with his (Daddy’s) big body. Rey starts to cough all over the ring, as Daddy and Henry just share a laugh together.

It turns out that Rey was playing possum, as he somehow drop toe holds Daddy onto the second rope, and he goes for the 619, and hits it! Daddy doesn’t move off of the ropes, so Rey bounces off of the ropes, and hits another 619! This time Daddy stumbles off of the ropes, and Rey climbs the turnbuckles, and looks to drop the dime, he jumps off, but Daddy caught him in mid air! Daddy hits a thunderous power bomb, pounding Rey’s head against the mat to massive jeers from the crowd. Daddy goes for the cover, 1, 2, no! Rey got his right shoulder up, even though Daddy hooked the left leg!

Daddy looks really mad now, as the crowd chants for Rey, as Daddy bounces off of the ropes, and hits his huge elbow drops, he hooks Rey’s right leg, 1, 2, no! Rey got the right shoulder up, as Daddy looks really mad now. Daddy bounces off of the ropes again, but this time, Rey gets up right before Daddy was about to drop the elbow. Rey rolls, and then hits Daddy with 3 right kicks to the upper chest, then a right kick to the head, and then a left kick to the head. Rey just falls on top of Daddy; not hooking any legs, 1, 2, no! Daddy basically bench presses, and then throws Rey off of him, as he (Daddy) gets up, and Rey attempts to hit a springboard moonsault, but Daddy catches him on his shoulders, and hits a (semi) running powerslam. Daddy then waits for Rey to get up, but Daddy just picks Rey up himself, and goes for the Ghetto Drop, but Rey squeezes out of hit, and hits a right leg kick to Daddy’s left leg. Rey then bounces off of the ropes, and it seems like he’s going for his inverted bulldog, but Daddy catches him on his shoulders, and screams as he drops Rey down with his Ghetto Drop; Big Daddy V hooks Rey’s right leg, 1, 2, 3!
Winner: Big Daddy V (6:31)

Mark Henry walks in the ring, as him and Daddy high five, and hug, and then the two huge men leave the ring, as Chavo attends to Rey. Chavo looks to help Rey up until……..

**You Think You Know Me**

Edge and Christian’s music hits to a huge pop from the crowd, as Edge appears on the entrance ramp. Edge just stands there, as Christian comes up from behind, (the opposite side of the arena) and starts to attack Chavo. Here comes Edge running down the ring, as he starts beating on Rey.

Foley: Payback from Monday I see.

Cole: Maybe, but Foley just think of this, as these two teams are beating each other, Show-Miz are relaxing, and getting ready for their match against these two teams at Backlash.

Foley: I think Edge and Christian just want revenge.

Christian throws Chavo to the outside of the ring, and he follows that up by sling shooting himself over the top rope, and nailing Chavo. After Christian does that, Edge sets Rey up, and hits a Spear! Edge then leaves the ring, and the two walk out to a mix reaction; knowing that they got payback from last week.

Foley: Coming up next, we will have Joe Hennig take on Booker T, but first, we go to Vicki Guerrero backstage with Wade Barrett.

Vicki: Excuse me! **loud heat from the crowd** I’m here with Wade Barrett, my personal pick to win the Hardcore Title this week at Backlash.

The crowd boos, and there are spread chants from the crowd, which are either for Sandman, Sabu, or Tommy Dreamer. Barrett shakes his head no.

Barrett: Why, thank you for your confidence in me Vicki. **crowd boos** The thing is though, I don’t need any confidence from anybody. I won NXT season 1, when Daniel Bryan or David Otunga were the favorites. You may ask where are those two now? In developmental, that’s where they are. I will win the Hardcore Title this Sunday, just like I will beat Santino Marella easily tonight.

Guerrero: Wade, who do you plan to defeat to win the title on Sunday?

Barrett: Hopefully Tommy Dreamer, but pinning that disgusting Sandman, or wrinkly Sabu wouldn’t hurt either. **crowd boos**

Guerrero: Thanks for your time Wade, and I’ll definitely be watching your match against Santino Marella, as well as your title match this Sunday at Backlash.

Barrett: Thank you for your support Vickie. I honestly really appreciate it, and I assure you, when you see me one week from now, next Friday on Smackdown, that Hardcore Title will be around my waist.

Wade walks off, as Vicki just stares at him with a very wide grin on her face.

Cole: Wade and Vicki, wow Wade Barrett is a lucky guy.

**Commercial Break**

We come back, and Team Swagger is in the ring; all three of them have ring gear on, (Ryder has a shirt) and Booker T is ready to take on Joe Hennig. Hennig and JBL were already walking down the entrance ramp, with JBL’s music playing, and JBL has a suit on, as he leads Hennig into the ring.

Cole: Joe Hennig is catching heat here. Both from his matches, and from the crowd.

Foley: This young man has so much talent. If only he could just break free from JBL, then he could really be something.

Cole: He’s going places Foley, but he definitely needs JBL.

Match 2

Singles Match

Booker T vs. Joe Hennig

The bell rings, and we start out with Henning in a very low stance, trying to either lockup, or take down Booker T, but Booker would have none of it, as he brings his right leg back, and nails Hennig right in the temple with a Muay Thai style right head kick. Booker quickly goes for the cover, with R-Truth and Zack Ryder nearly going crazy on the outside, and with JBL looking very annoyed by not only what’s going on in the ring, but Ryder and R-Truth too, as Booker hooks Hennig’s left leg, 1, 2, no! Hennig brought his left shoulder up, as he quickly gets back up to the mat, kick Booker in the gut, bounces off of the ropes, and hits a running swinging neck breaker to the former 5 time WCW Champion.

Cole: Just one kick isn’t going to keep Hennig down.

Hennig then bounces off of the ropes again, and hits a knee right to Booker’s face, who was lying down on his back after the swinging neck breaker. Hennig then picks Booker up, but Booker fights back by throwing right hands at Hennig’s abdomen. Booker then bounces off of the ropes, and hits a big boot. Booker then picks Hennig up, and starts to hit chomps on him, (2 of them) followed by a right hand to the face; followed by another chomp (all 3 chomps were with Booker’s right hand.) Booker then hits a huge superkick, and quickly picks Hennig back up, and hits a Houston Sidekick. Booker then waits for Hennig to get up, which he does at a ref’s count of 4, and Booker sets up, and hits a Book End, followed by a cover by hooking both of Hennig’s legs, 1, 2, no! Hennig somehow kicked out of the Book End, which surprises Booker, and the rest of Team Swagger, and JBL starts to smile and clap.

Foley: Wow that was close.

Cole: JBL should be clapping, because not too many people can kick out of that.

Booker then sets up Hennig for a Scissors Kick, when Hennig gets up, Booker brings him to about the exact middle of the ring, kicks him in the gut, and bounces off of the ropes, and just as Booker jump, and moved the legs, Hennig got out of it, and counters with a belly to belly suplex. Both men are down, and Hennig eventually gets up at a ref’s count of 6; Booker at 8. Booker charges towards Hennig right after he (Booker) got up., and Booker goes for a clothesline, but Hennig caught him, and counters it with a backslide, 1, 2, no! Booker kicked out, but that was quickly followed with Hennig hitting an enzui lariat.

Cole: We have to take a quick commercial break here; stay tuned for the rest of this exciting match.

**Commercial Break**

We come back, and Hennig has Booker in an ankle lock; Booker is shouting in pain, as Team Swagger is trying to pump up Booker, and get him to the ropes. Instead of getting to the ropes, Booker rolls out of the ankle lock, much to the delight of the crowd and Team Swagger.

Cole: Shut up Zack Ryder! Man, that guy annoys me.

Ryder hears what Cole says, and walks over to Cole, and starts to yell in his face. Cole starts to yell back, and Ryder slaps Cole in the face. Booker sees this, and turns around, only to see Michael Cole spit in his teammates, Zack Ryder’s face. Ryder is now furious, but back in the ring, Booker T turns around right into a running one armed swinging neck breaker to Booker. Ryder realizes what he caused, and runs towards the ring, but Hennig hooks Ryder’s left leg, 1, 2, 3!

Winner: Joe Hennig (10:05)

Ryder rushes into the ring, as does JBL, and even with a suit on, JBL nails Ryder with a Clothesline From Hell, and then R-Truth runs into the ring, and meets another Clothesline From Hell from JBL.

Cole: Yes JBL, keep going, make these annoying kids cry!

JBL fixes up his suit, as he congratulates his teammate/student Joe Hennig by tapping his (JBL’s) left hand on his (Hennig’s) back, which is followed by JBL raising Hennig’s right arm with JBL’s left, as Hennig brings his right arm in the air. The two then walk out with JBL saying words of praise to Hennig, as all three guys of Team Swagger lying down; hurt and in pain in the ring.

Cole: Up next, we have Wade Barrett taking on Santino Marella. Man, if I could fire 3 men in the entire company, they’re laying down in the ring right now.

**Commercial Break**

We come back, and Santino Marella is in the ring, with his music blasting throughout the arena, and Santino is in the ring; playing his “trombone”.

**End Of Days**

Wade Barrett comes out to a pretty big amount of heat, as he walks down the entrance way looking very focused on his match. Wade enters the ring, and Santino cowardly exits, until Wade tells him to come back in, by motioning his hand to come.

Match 3

Singles Match

Wade Barrett vs. Santino Marella

The bell rings, and we start off with Wade quickly running up, and punting Santino right in his abdomen, which makes The Milan Miracle scream and ball up in pain. Wade laughs at Santino, as he whips Marella into a corner, and then starts hitting him in the face with right hands. Barrett hits 5 powerful rights right to the face of Santino, before Santino drops to the floor on his butt. Barrett then moves back, and hits a running knee right to the temple of Santino. Barrett goes to the opposite corner, and sits on the second turnbuckle, which gains major heat from the crowd. The ref starts a count on Santino, who gets up at 6. Barrett than quickly hits a belly to belly suplex on Santino; almost right after he (Santino) got up. Barrett then goes for the pin, by hooking Marella’s leg, 1, 2, no! Santino manages to get his right shoulder up, and eventually stand up, but directly after he does, he eats a pumphandle slam from Barrett.

Cole: Barrett looks to be on his A-game tonight.

Foley: Come Backlash, he’ll have to be on his A+-game, Cole.

Cole: He will be; Wade Barrett is the new face of hardcore!

Wade then slowly stomps on the face of Santino with his right book; smirking when he does it. Wade grabs Santino’s right foot, twists it by stepping over his leg, and drops to the mat, before repeating it; using Santino’s other foot. Santino screams in pain, as Wade seems like he’s having a good time. Wade picks Santino up, and it looks like he’s going for Wasteland, but he instead lets Santino down, and hits a spinning side slam. Barrett then quickly picks Santino up again, but this time, Santino fights back with right hands, and then dodges a Barrett right hand by doing a split. Santino whips Barrett off of the ropes, and is able to leap over the charging Barrett; on the way back, Santino hits a hip toss, before setting up for a Cobra to the joy of the crowd. Wade gets up at a ref’s count of 2, and Santino goes for The Cobra, but Wade catches it, picks Santino up on his (Wade’s shoulders) and hits Wasteland, Wade hooks Santino left leg, as Santino right leg is also in the air, 1, 2, 3!

Winner: Wade Barrett (5:41)

Wade gets up, and gets his right hand raised in the air by the ref, while raising his left hand up in the air by himself. Wade smirks again, before exiting the ring, and walking off to his music playing loud, and the crowd booing him even louder.

Cole: Well, that was a great performance from one of the four men competing in the fatal 4 way hardcore match for the Hardcore Title at Backlash, Wade Barrett, but up next we will hear from another one of those four men, and that will be Tommy Dreamer.

Foley: I can tell what he’s going to say is going to be quite interesting, and I can tell that even though he is the quiet one of the four, he has a lot to say.

Cole: I’ll agree with you there Foley; stay tuned.

The camera cuts to Tommy Dreamer walking down the ring, in full wrestling gear on. Dreamer is stretching out his arm, before he high fives one of the backstage workers, and hugs another one.

**Commercial Break**

We come back, and Tommy Dreamer’s music hits.

**Man In The Box**

Dreamer comes out to a huge pop, as he smiles, and walks around the ramp, high fiving fans, and giving autographs to them. Dreamer walks around the ring, and goes to get a steel chair to the crowd’s joy, and lifts it up to an even bigger pop from the Sacramento crowd. Dreamer enters the ring, and places the chair very close to the middle of the ring, and sits in it, before quickly going up, and going to the outside to get a mic, and after that, he goes back into the ring, and sits in the chair, and he gets ready to speak.

Dreamer: They call me the quiet one.

The crowd pops

Dreamer: They say that I’m a fluke.

The crowd boos

Dreamer: They say that I can’t do anything without a weapon in my hand.

Dreamer looks around, as the crowd stays relatively silent.

Dreamer: They are all of my “haters,” they are guys like Teddy Long and Wade Barrett.

The crowd boos loudly at the two, as Dreamer nods his head up and down 3 times.

Dreamer: I say that this Sunday, I have a chance to silence everybody. I have a chance to prove that my two ECW title runs were not flukes, and that I myself am not a fluke.

The crowd pops, as Dreamer starts to smile.

Dreamer: Sandman, Sabu, we’ve been through it all. Through all of the ups and downs that we’ve, we stuck through them, weather it was together or apart.

Crowd starts to chant Tommy Dreamer.

Dreamer:
Thank you, thank you, but it wasn’t all me. It was Sabu, Sandman, Raven, Rob Van Dam, it was Paul Heyman that brought where I am today, and that is right here.

Crowd now chants ECW, with mostly matured male voices doing the chanting.

Dreamer: On Sunday night, the Hardcore Title comes back, and I couldn’t think of three better guys to hold it than myself, **crowd pops** Sabu, **louder pops** and Sandman. **even louder pops** Now, I know that I’m obviously not as popular as them, **crowd chants yes you are, yes you are** but as long as I walk down to the ring, and put up a fight, than I know that I deserve all of your respect! **crowd pops the loudest it has all night** Then there’s Wade Barrett, **crowd quickly switches from cheers to jeers** Wade, you don’t even deserve to be in the same arena as Sandman, Sabu, and myself. **crowd now switches back from jeers to cheers** Wade, this Sunday at Backlash, you will learn the difference between being a boy, and being a man at the hands of us three. Thank you everyone, and I hope you tune into Backlash to see Wade gets his ass beat all over the Staples Center by three of the sickest and most hardcore men in wrestling today! Thank you, and goodnight everybody.

Dreamer drops the mic, and leaves the ring to massive cheers, but when he’s about half way up the entrance ramp, he stops. Dreamer then turns around, and goes back into the ring to retrieve the chair, and when he steps to the outside, he goes over to a pole with the chair, and starts smacking the pole with the chair. Just after the 7th smack, and right before the 8th, Dreamer points to the camera, and nods his head up and down as he departs to the backstage area with massive cheers from the crowd.

Cole: That was decent at best, but up next, we will have the amazing Lance Storm take on Batista.

Foley: Decent at best? That had chills going down my spine the whole way

Cole: I have no clue what you were watching out there.

Cole: There will be no commercial break before this next match, so stay in your seats, and don’t touch the remote! I’m sorry did you say something Foley?

Foley turns around; turning his back to Cole, as the camera cuts to Sandman in his locker room; holding his kendo stick in his right hand, and he just put down a beer in his left hand. There are a lot of beer cans on the floor behind him. Sandman nods his head up and down, and smiles, before swinging his kendo stick at a wall twice, and putting two huge holes in it, before turning back around, smiling, and nodding his head up and down again. The camera now cuts to Wade Barrett’s lock room, and Wade has a small; white towel around his shoulder as he shows a huge frown on his face, and puts his lefts hand on his forehead; followed by putting his right hand on his back, before the camera cuts back to Michael Cole and Mick Foley.

Cole: Sandman’s a freak.

Foley: I know; Barrett’s not too normal himself.

Cole: He’s a lot more normal than Sandman.

Foley: True.

Cole: I know; good.

**Mr. Vain**

The camera switches back to the entrance ramp, as Lance Storm comes out to pretty good heat mainly from young kids and older women; with a massive mixed reaction from mainly the older men. Lance enters the ring, and bows 3 times; once to each side of the ring; excluding the one facing the entrance ramp. Lance has his normal very serious face on.

**I Walk Alone**

Batista comes out to mainly cheers; with some heat from the older men, as he does his normal pyro on the way to the ring. Batista looks pumped up, and Storm just rolls his wrists while looking at Batista in the ring.

Foley: Taunting Batista is not the best idea there Lance.

Cole is cracking up with laughter right next to Foley.

Cole:
Hahahahahaha that’s hilarious Foley, hahahahahahaha.

Foley: Whatever Cole, just call the match.

Cole: Hahahahahahaha, I’ll try Foley, hahahahahaha.

Match 4

Singles Match

Batista vs. Lance Storm

The bell rings, and Batista starts out the match as quick as lightning, as he charges towards Storm, and spears him into the shoulder. Batista follows that up with 3 shoulders thrusts with his left shoulder right into the mid-section of Storm. Storm is able to push him off, as Batista whips Storm into the opposite corner, and follows that up with a splash. Storm rebounds off of the splash, and Batista hits a running powerslam to Storm.

Cole: Batista is starting this match off quite quick.

Foley: He is Cole, the animal is unleashed.

Batista waits for Storm to get up, and when he does, Batista charges at him; looking for another spear, but Storm reverses it with a spinning heel kick. Storm gets up, and walks over to the ropes, waiting for Batista to get up. When Batista does get up, Storm springboards off of the ropes, and hits a springboard cross body. Storm goes for the pin, 1, 2, no! Batista rolls over, and picks up Storm, as he gets to his feet. Batista then hits a big slam on Storm, and goes for the cover, 1, 2, no! Storm just barely got his right shoulder up, as Batista looks very frustrated.

Cole: We’re going to have to go to commercial, don’t you dare touch that remote; stay tuned!

**Commercial Break**

We come back, and Lance Storm has some sort of an arm lock/ arm bar on the massive Batista. The crowd gets behind Batista by chanting his name, and after a while, Batista is able to get out of the hold by flipping Storm over him, and squeezing his arm out of Storm’s grip. Batista then gets back to a vertical base, and Storm starts to charge at him, but Batista is able to hit a Spinebuster out of almost nowhere! Batista shakes the ropes, and gets ready for a Batista Bomb, but Storm kicks up, and superkicks Batista right at his chin. Storm then picks up Batista massively muscular legs, and locks in a sharpshooter. Batista is screaming in pain, as he tries to crawl towards the ropes. Storm is yelling tap out Dave repeatedly, and the crowd starts to get behind Batista. Storm continues to taunt The Animal, but after a while, Batista is able to reach the ropes.

Batista’s right hand is clearly grabbing the ropes tight, and Storm isn’t letting go. The ref begins counting, and Storm eventually releases the hold at a count of 3. Storm turns around to mocks the crowd, and when he turns back around to focus on Batista, Storm gets nailed with a massive spear.

Foley: Wow that looked like it hurt.

Cole: Batista is a sick man.

Foley: Cole, you really have no idea how good I would feel if that was you taking the spear from Batista.

Cole doesn’t respond, as we go back to the match, and Batista is getting ready to crush Lance Storm with a thunderous Batista Bomb. Storm gets up from that huge spear, and Batista kicks him in the gut with his left boot, and lifts him up. Storm is able to narrowly escape the move, and then counters it with a backbreaker. Storm taunts Batista even more, as Storm climbs to the top rope, and hits a moonsault. Storm pins Batista by hooking his right leg, with the left leg going up in the air as well, 1, 2, no! Batista got his left shoulder up, as Storm looks mad. Storm goes over to complain to the ref, and grabs the ref by the shirt with both of his (Storm’s) hands. The ref warns Storm that he’ll be disqualified, and Storm lets go of the hold. Storm turns around, and this time is nailed by a running clothesline. Batista doesn’t fool around this time, as he looks very angry with a very small cut on his chin from the superkick, and lifts Storm up, and hits a massive Batista Bomb; Batista hooks Storm’s left leg, 1, 2, 3!
Winner: Batista (9:09)

Batista gets up, and celebrates; still looking very angry. Batista then quickly picks Storm up, and again, he hits another massive Batista Bomb! Batista looks at Storm, and exits the ring, still looking at Storm, and getting massive pops from the crowd. The camera cuts to Sheamus on the left side of the screen, walking down one of the hallways of the arena, and on the right side, it shows John Morrison in a hallway in the arena, fixing up his World Heavyweight Championship.

Cole: Our main event between John Morrison and Sheamus is up next!

**Commercial Break**

We come back, and Sheamus’ music hits. The screen shows that the highlight reel featuring HHH and of course Chris Jericho will be after this match.

**Written In My Face**

Sheamus comes out to pretty decent heat, as he enters the ring. Sheamus then patiently waits for the current World Heavyweight Champion, John Morrison. Morrison’s music hits, and Sheamus leans on the ropes facing the entrance way.

**Ain’t No Make Believe**

John Morrison comes out to a massive pop from the crowd, and he does his traditional slow motion entrance. Morrison comes out, and ignore than Sheamus is leaning up against the ropes right in front of him, as he slides into the ring.

Match 5

Singles Match

John Morrison vs. Sheamus

The bell rings, and Sheamus starts out the match very quickly by hitting clubbing forearm shots to John Morrison’s back. Sheamus continues the assault by stomping all over Morrison with right foots and left foots. Sheamus continues to beat up on Morrison by whipping him into the corner, and hitting a Brogue Kick to Morrison in the corner. Morrison wobbles out to near the middle of the ring, where Sheamus grabs Morrison by the back of the head/hair, and throws him over the top rope; to the outside of the ring. Sheamus taunts Morrison a lot, and points to his chest with his right hand, before pounding his own chest with both hands.

Cole: We’re going to have to go to commercial right now, which is sad because Sheamus is taking it to Morrison, and I honestly wish all of you could see Morrison go through so much pain, but stay tuned.

**Commercial Break**

We come back, and Sheamus has Morrison locked in a fujiwara armbar. Morrison is twitching in pain, before he finds the strength in him to roll out of the armbar, and fall on top of Sheamus. Morrison then mounts his opponent, and starts to throw lefts and right all of The Celtic Warrior. Morrison eventually lets up, and bounces off of the ropes, spins on the mat, and hits a fantastic elbow drop right to the chest of Sheamus. The World Heavyweight Champion goes for the pin, 1, 2, no! Sheamus bench pressed Morrison off of him, and quickly gets up, and hits a running clothesline right to the nose of Morrison. Sheamus then bounces off of the ropes, and hits a standing leg drop right to the throat of Morrison. The World Heavyweight Champion rolls around the mat in much pain, as Sheamus just laughs, and takes a breather by leaning up against the ropes.

Cole: Just as I said before the break, Sheamus is taking apart Morrison.

Foley: Just ABOUT what you said before the break Cole.

Cole:
Whatever Foley; why does it matter?

Sheamus then waits for Morrison to get up, as he goes for a Brogue Kick, but Morrison ducks under it, but is unable to counter the move, because Sheamus quickly hits a left back elbow right to Morrison’s temple. Sheamus then picks Morrison up, and hits a huge fallaway slam, which literally sent Morrison flying from one side of the ring to another. Sheamus then drops his right knee onto Morrison’s face repeatedly 3 times while bouncing off of the ropes all 3 times. Sheamus then taunts more to both Morrison and the crowd, as Michael Cole is clearly enjoying it from the announce table. Sheamus then lifts Morrison up, and attempts to go for Pale Justice, but Morrison slips out of it, and this time he is able to counter one of Sheamus’ big moves by hitting a Pele Kick to the back of Sheamus’ head. The crowd pops loud at the move, as Sheamus and John Morrison are both clearly down, as Sheamus rolled to his back, and Morrison is flat on his face.

Foley: Wow, what a kick! That was amazing; it’s really amazing how athletic this John Morrison is.

Cole: He’s also a terrible World Heavyweight Champion.

Foley: Well Cole, I think that he’s a great World Heavyweight Champion.

Morrison gets up at a ref’s count of 5, and quickly drops back down on top of Sheamus for a pin attempt, 1, 2, no! Sheamus just barely got his left shoulder up; it was so close, as most of the crowd is on their feet, as Morrison rolls back to his back. Sheamus quickly gets up, as he leans up against the ropes, and he tells the ref to count Morrison out. Morrison gets up at a ref’s count of 6 this time, and Sheamus quickly hits him with a slingshot shoulder block, after bouncing off of the ropes, almost right after Morrison got up. Sheamus then sets up Morrison for a Brogue Kick. Sheamus then yells at the ref not to count for Morrison, and the ref obeys, and when Morrison does get up, and Sheamus charges at him; looking for a Brogue Kick, Morrison is able to roll Sheamus up, 1, 2, no! Sheamus kicked up, which sent Morrison flying almost half way across the ring; the two each get up very quickly, and Morrison charges toward Sheamus, but Sheamus is able to lift his right leg up, and hit a big boot.

Sheamus continues the attack by locking in a headlock quickly, but he releases the hold. Sheamus then locks in a heel hook, but again, he lets Morrison get out of the move quickly. Sheamus then rolls Morrison over, and now Morrison’s stomach is flat on the ground, as Sheamus bounces off of the ropes, and drops his left knee right on the spine of John Morrison. The crowd lets out there opinions on the brutal move, as they let out a big groan; followed by loud boos. Morrison is moving all over the place, and Sheamus holds him still by pushing on him to make sure that Morrison stays stomach down on the mat. Sheamus then bounces off of the ropes again, and hits a dropkick right to the side of Morrison. Sheamus then quickly picks Morrison up, but Morrison just as quickly hits a he knee to Sheamus’ face. Morrison then drags Sheamus over near a corner, and goes for Starship Pain, but Sheamus was playing possum, and swiftly moves out of the way, as Morrison eats the mat front side first. Sheamus is up, and he waits for Morrison, who gets up without the ref needing to count, and Sheamus strikes with a huge Brogue Kick; Sheamus hooks Morrison’s right leg, with Morrison’s left leg in the air as well, 1, 2, 3!
Winner: Sheamus (13:07)

Cole: He did it, he did it! Sheamus just pulled out a huge victory over the world champion. It was clean too Foley! What a win by the Celtic Warrior of the world champ; man what a match.

Foley: It was a good fight Cole.

Cole: You bet it was Foley.

Sheamus celebrates in the ring by taunting Morrison, and the fans in the arena. Sheamus then points toward the World Heavyweight Championship; he then gets out of the ring, and walks over, and grabs the title from the time keeper. Sheamus then walks into the ring, and holds up the title with his right hand while groaning, and then he lifts it up quickly with both hands, before softly, gently, and carefully placing it on Morrison’s chest. Sheamus does taunts Morrison and the crowd again which leads to massive heat, before leaving the ring to even more huge heat from the Sacramento crowd.

Cole:
Coming up next, Chris Jericho calls out HHH on the highlight reel.

**Commercial Break**

Raw Rebound: We get a recap of 3 matches that happened last Monday on Raw. We see Randy Orton defeat MVP, Goldberg and Justin Gabriel defeat Tyler Reks and Big Show, and we see Marcus Cor Von defeat John Cena, after Randy Orton interfered, but ate an attitude adjustment from John Cena, and then we see Marcus Cor Von hit a pounce on Cena right after the attack on Orton.

We come back, and Chris Jericho is in the middle of the ring, with the highlight reel set right behind him.

Jericho: I am Chris Jericho, the best in the world at what I do, and this is the highlight reel.

Crowd boos loudly.

Jericho: Now, last week, HHH embarrassed me more than I have ever been embarrassed, and I am here tonight to call him out.

The crowd boos, but is also surprised at how quietly Jericho is talking.

Jericho: HHH, I’m not going to complain about anything before you come out here, so please get out here right now!

The crowd is still very surprised at Jericho’s tone/mood so far tonight.

**The Game**

The crowd cheers, as HHH comes out with his new t-shirt and jeans on, as he does his normal entrance with the water and all that good stuff. HHH enters the ring, and takes a microphone that Chris Jericho hands to him.

Jericho: Hunter, you see, last week, you went too far. Let’s see that footage of this crime that HHH committed last week.

The crowd jeers, as we turn to the screen in the ring, and it shows how HHH spot Chris Jericho in his locker room, and his hands in his pants while watching the movie Babe. We hear the groan Jericho let out, as the screen goes back to the highlight reel logo.

Jericho: Now Hunter, I have to ask you, why did you do that?

HHH: Chris, we’ve competed many times over the years, and I always found it easy to defeat you.

The crowd pops, as HHH puts on a funny look on his face, and Chris Jericho starts to look very easy.

HHH: I figured though that you’ve probably gotten a lot better, which I must admit that you have. That “incident” just happened in the right place at the right time, I had a camera on me, and I saw you, so I decided to film it for laughs, and it was funny.

Jericho:
I wasn’t……

HHH:
I know, trust me. I just found a nerd in geek squad, and asked him to add in that groan to make it funnier. The thing is Jericho, I realized that we’ve battled over so many things.

Jericho: We have.

HHH: I mean, we met at the main event of one of the greatest Wrestlemanias of all time, Wrestlemania X8 for the undisputed title, which of course I won.

Jericho: HHH, even though you beat me, you still know as well as I do that I’m the best. I always have been, and you know that when you won the Rumble in 2002, Vince didn’t want you to face me. Vince wanted you to vacant that Rumble win because he knew that you couldn’t handle me. He knew that I would take you apart, but of course, when Vince found out a way for you to drop it, you were too stubborn. The only reason you won back in ’02, was because I was paid off to lose. That’s right, I was paid off, and you know who I was paid off by, Vincent Kennedy McMahon!

The crowd boos, as Chris Jericho admitted that he just threw a Wrestlemania main event.

Jericho: That’s right, good old Dad used his money to win you that title Hunter. That title that I never got a chance to win back.

HHH is deeply staring into Jericho’s eyes.

HHH: Chris, the thing I was about to say that we never fought for was our careers. We fought over titles, bragging rights, and much more, but we never fought for our careers.

Jericho is clearly deeply listening to what HHH has to say.

HHH: You see, in 5 weeks, we are holding an event called Extreme Rules.

Jericho nods his head.

HHH: This time Chris, you better not take a bribe, because I am challenging you to a career vs. career match.

The crowd pops loud, as Jericho stands up, and starts to stare down The Game, as HHH stands up, and meets Jericho for the stare down.

HHH: The match type will be decided next week; do you accept?

Jericho pauses for a moment. Both men maintain there deep stare down at each other.

Jericho: You’re on!

The crowd pops, as Jericho is about to leave the ring, but he HHH raises up his microphone just when Jericho was about to go through the ropes.

HHH: Chris, even though it was a “bribe”, I’m sure this still bothers you.

We go the highlight reel screen, which shows HHH raising the undisputed title right after defeating Jericho at Wrestlemania X8.

HHH:
You wouldn’t want me to do that with your career now would you?

Jericho goes back to HHH, and the two stare down at each other again.

Avitus25’sThe Best’s Smackdown Review

--- I’m looking forward to the HHH-Jericho segment again, it was a good one last week.

--- Sheamus’ promo was a bit short, and didn’t quick click for me… not the best way I’ve seen a show open. I also think Morrison should’ve had more to say. Batista coming out was nice, but again, maybe a little longer to speak would’ve been better. I was going to say that Storm shouldn’t be given an opportunity again, and Long said that himself, but then still seems to have given Storm a shot next week? I don’t get it man. The obvious thing to do here, would’ve been Batista v Sheamus, and I was praying the whole way through that that would be what would happen, because that made sense. I think there’s a lot that could’ve been improved in this opening segment.

--- Cole and Foley’s commentary is hit and miss, some of it is just irritating whilst some is quite entertaining. I’d be careful not to over use interaction between these two, unless it’s going somewhere in the future.

--- Is Mysterio meant to be a heel? He’s coming across a bit like that, I know that Eddie Guerrero used a similar technique and got the cheers, but Mysterio and Chavo the past few weeks have been coming across as heels. Just something to pay attention to. Good match though. If you were going to have Edge & Christian attack post-match, then you could’ve had them cause a distraction for Mysterio (e.g. by attacking Chavo) and therefore making Mysterio look stronger heading into his tag team title match, rather than a little weak coming off a loss on the last show before the PPV. Not a bad match though.

--- Not a bad promo again by Wade Barrett, but it could still use a bit of work to really nail it. Asking who he’s planning to pin doesn’t make much sense either? You’d imagine that Barrett’d just go for whoever he can pin.

--- Expecting Hennig to get the pin here, you seem to be a massive fan of his. Few little typos in this match (e.g. last line you write that Hennig hooks Ryder’s leg) but still a good match. I expected Hennig to get the win. I hope that the Ryder/Cole storyline heats up, because it’s not a bad idea. JBL and Hennig are really being pushed hard, I expect to see them somewhere near the top of the card soon.

--- Expecting Wade to go over easily here. Not a bad show of strength for Barrett here, I’m hoping he comes out of the title match with the championship at Backlash. Dreamer’s promo was better, but still a little confused. His last paragraph was really intense and aggressive towards Barrett, but then he randomly changed to thanking the fans and asking them to watch Backlash in a polite manner. It just seemed a random tone change, and the last bit could’ve been done without.

--- Storm v Batista… I’m expecting Batista to go over here, it’s only been a week since Storm’s last shot. Good match here, glad to see Batista go over, so I’m expecting Shaemus to get the win in the Main Event tonight?

--- Morrison v Sheamus should be good. A few silly little mistakes near the start (foots instead of feet etc) but apart from that it was a very good match. Glad to see Sheamus get the win. I’m not sure why this wasn’t the final segment on the show, but still it wasn’t too bad at all.

--- Loved the segment with Triple H and Jericho. Still a bit unsure about the pig thing, but at least that’s out of the way now. I’m interested to see where you go with these two in the career v career match. That I’m looking forward to!

--- Overall, a mixed show, the matches were generally good, but the promos could maybe do with a bit of work/lengthening. I’m looking forward to Backlash though and I’ll be sure to drop you a review when it’s posted!
