Tara censorship?

I am well aware that this might not be the most entertaining of material but it has been bugging me for a few days. On last thursday, during Tara's match with Angelina, we were treated to a bit of a blur. Now, that in itself doesn't offend me but as I was watching then and I have watched the match the next day and the day after, I just fail to see what it was all about. I thought at first that it might have been a wardrobe malfunction but quite frankly everything seemed to be in its place (if anything, a bit of cleavage might have moved upwards but then again nothing was popping out).

My point is, unless there is blatant nudity (things simply hanging out), it seems to me that there might be something going on. And I'm not talking kayfabe or Hogan or anything but rather Spike. Should we expect to be treated like ******ed children now? Are we going to be treated to random and scaredy-cat censorship on iMPACT now? Or is it just that I missed something during that match (which I sincerely believe I don't)? I'd hate to think that TNA's new age of wrestling will be about hypocrite censorship and mismanaged publicity (especially considering Spike's current spicy content).

Yeah I was curious about that too, then I went back watched the match online. The reason it looked like Jimmy Kimmel was in charge of censoring is because her whole breast didn't pop out, but because of the way her top is, a small portion of the areola was exposed.

That's the only explanation I have for it, because the whole breast wasn't out, and if it was we would have got some fan reaction or at the very least Love backing off for her to fix it. And considering they had some nice chain wrestling going on where such a slip would be noticeable, I'm guessing it was someone believing they thought she was exposed and decided to censor it.

Oddly enough it could have only made viewers focus on the match even more, lol. When you consider that this was a previously taped broadcast, I wouldn't put it past Bischoff to have had that censor added so that viewers believed that "anything" can happen in TNA.

When I first saw it, I thought maybe they had blurred out the text on her shirt. When I used my DVR to rewind, I realized that the blur wasn't there at the beginning of the match...I forgot what the one word said on her shirt, but it wasn't anything offensive.

The blur didn't show up until after the commercial break TNA took during the match...which would leave one to believe it was indeed a wardrobe malfunction, but I agree with you that it didn't look like that was the case. Very weird, I wonder what was up with that?

This is what i heard from another site thats strictly about TNA. One of the mods said he was told that Tara had either a WWE logo or a MMA logo on her undershirt and thats why it was blurred.

It was odd when I first saw it. Then it just remained there for a while. My first thought was nipple, but Love would have told her to fix it sooner or later. She wouldnt have let her just keep goin with a nip poppin out! HAHA! My next thought was somekinda copyright type of situation. So the WWE or MMA logo would make total sense to me.

As I watched the match I kept thinking it was obvious there was something showing, however it occured to me there were numerous opportunities for Angelina to fix this and make it seem not obvious, as well as the ref. also kept watching the crowd, there was no reaction.

i watched the match and thought it was weird the blur being there and after a while i thought if it was a nip slip the ref or Angelina would have told her but the fact was they didn't and you can plainly see the areola was exposed through the ending of the match and when the camera was zoomed in on Tara after the win when she was standing in the corner you can clearly see her nipple protruding her outfit.

Using my DVR, I paused at a close up of Tara and saw a brown blur on her right boob. So it wasn't a logo or anything else but a nipple. As for your concerns, they have a strict rule about nudity, no penis, no vagina, and no nipple.

i agree it was a rather ticky tack censor on the networks part there since it didn't seem like anything was really exposed... the irony is that there was such scrutiny on that yet the company is named T N A... i truely believe as long as that is their name they will NEVER be a serious contender to WWE... even if they are trying to appeal to the 18-34 year old demographic that name just makes them sound like a joke

I've just watched Impact and the UK version had no such blurring. So I really don't know what this whole thing was about. It was a decent match though and Angelina looked awesome. The BP beatdown thing is getting old after Madison got squashed a fortnight back.

After reading other people's posts, I think the only logical reason for the blur was because a little bit of areola was popping out. Sure it wasn't a nipple, but you wouldn't want the FCC to come down on you for the Brown Ring Of Death, so I guess just in case that was gonna happen, they must've just blurred the whole thing out.

Another thing that I thought up was that they just censored the spot as a way to poke fun at when Tara had that wardrobe malfunction on 1.4. They did it as if to say, "We got it this time!"

Ok but what gets me is that with this whole Tara Censorship........If I am appealing to 18-34 year old demographic, whats a little slip here or there. I mean I'd rather my son see a tittie than a penis or a vagina on national television. Tara shouldn't have been censored when right after Impact they have the nerve to show a television show that will use words like penis, cock, dick, blow job, suck his dick, pussy, ****e, damn, god damned, bitch, ass, ****, and use suggestive images to portray sexual situations. I find that Blue Mountain State is a shitty ass show and do not stick around to watch it. The one episode I did watch there was a transvestite that wanted to "swallow his salami" or "suck his dick" to help the football team win a game, a mascot that killed their pet mascot by hanging it over the stair railing. And they have given the green light to go ahead with another show of similar lack of censoring to debut in March, possibly the reason that Impact will not move to Monday in March.....So if Spike wants to let me watch a couple of shows like this, then do NOT i repeat DO NOT treat me like a fucking ******ed little kid when a little nipple slips, I mean you got to have one up on WWE show a little TNA on TNA and start taking control of higher ratings.

Soooooo no slip? No nip? Seems like somebody jumped the gun for a bit of nothing then. If it WAS an aureola, nobody said anything. Not Angelina, not the ref. Indeed considering Spike's current line of programming, it feels highly hypocritical to censor someone on the basis that there MIGHT be a little something showing. In any case, the logo thing just seems more plausible, at least I do hope it is so because then I wouldn't feel treated like a complete clueless moron by TNA and/or Spike. As for the Bischoff theory, that would be rather pathetic for an alleged genius to come up with something like that.

Yeah I'd like to put things a little more above this than something what Bischoff could come up with seeing as how he is a genius. But let's not forget this is the same man that wrote the book Controversy Creates Cash. So maybe he did tell them to censor it........I'd feel bad cause honestly I have always thought Tara as being very sexy and would love to see her topless or nude or even just a little slip of an aereola.

Right there, the solution to you censorship woes; you can always go back and watch it online. So the idea of censorship in terms of nudity pretty much gets voided when you add that element to the equation.


Besides...it's just a nipple. Really, nothing to get too upset about not seeing, not like they're an endangered species or anything. Not that I'd object to Tara slipping a nip to me but I'm not losing sleep over it here
