survivor series 2011- the final battle in the war of wars?

War Games

Dark Match Winner
Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

-- Monday night's RAW was heavily rewritten at the last minute. The plan in the early afternoon was to have Triple H vs. Undertaker take place at SummerSlam with Taker vs. Cena taking place at WrestleMania 28. Obviously, that has changed.

i know there are heaps of threads on the future of undertaker and his so called forshadowed rematch with hhh at next years mania.

after reading the above source, and other internet dirtsheets, it has me thinking that wwe would be better off, letting taker have more time to recover from his injuries and get him in a better physical shape for WM28, meaning his return to wwe is prolonged till after summerslam.

however rather than having taker face the same opponent at mania next year, why wouldnt wwe want to set this rematch up at the ppv which saw the birth of the undertaker- survivor series. A No holds bared/ or falls count anywhere match between him and hhh at the MSG has the ability to blow the roof off and also give taker a warm up for his next wm run.

so what do you people think

should the garden be the host to the final battle between the last of a dying breed?

I really have no personal interest in seeing another HHH Vs Undertaker match just for the sake of some last Outlaw..dying breed..old school thing. Unless it's part of a new fresh storyline involving some new stable or something. I love The Undertaker..ever since I first set eyes on him as a kid he has been my favourite wrestler and I doubt that will ever change. I now wish/hope that he calls it a day after Wrestlemania 28. I will miss his character and I will feel like a big something is missing from the WWE but if he is that messed up conditionwise then I think it's time. I really think he is worth a lot more than just some old legend who gets dragged out once or twice a year to give a few promos and carry on a stupid streak at Wrestlemania. He has done so much in the WWE but I think the streak now is what defines him which to me personally is ashame. I am just a fan of Wrestling like the rest of you so it's just my opinion and if Mark is happy doing what he is doing then good for him but I for selfish reasons wouldn't want him to be only known to future WWE generations of fans as an old out of shape guy who they dust off once a year.

Flair or Hogan anyone? But nah man, i feel the same way you do, but the biggest reason im hoping to see a match for taker before Wrestlemania is only if they are going to absolutly do the Rock vs Cena at Mania, and if that happens, taker should have one match, vs Cena, and if rock vs cena happens earlier, do hunter vs taker for SS and taker vs cena for takers last match

I read about WM27, haven't seen it yet. I'm sure Triple H and Taker had a good match but I really don't care about them having another match, this one was already too predicable for me. I would, however, like to see Taker have one last match at Survivor Series. A rematch between them would be a little funner and less predictable at SS I'm guessing. So sure why not? As long as they don't have them fight AGAIN at WM28. That would be such a sham unmemorable way to ring in 20-0. A heel John Cena would have been the most interesting match for him at WM28. But now that's probably not gonna happen. Other than that its really tough to say whats a genuine way to hurl in Takers last year in his career. I'm still a huge proponent of having him fight the fresh next generation guys. I don't know how Ted DiBiase Jr.'s doing these days in the midcard world, but I always thought it'd be interesting to have him (with his dad in his corner) fight Taker in his last SS match, since Taker was part of the Million Dollar Team in his debut at SS.

I thought of the Ted DiBiase Jr match at Wrestlemania 28 but now you mention it I would rather see that at Survivor Series maybe leading to a rematch at Wrestlemania. He is nowhere near ready for a match that big just yet though in my opinion. I'm not sure how long the WWE are going to drag the streak thing out and how many more times Taker can get himself just about fit enough to fight a match each year but I think the answer to that decides what type of opposition he faces. I mean if they are planning on ending it at 20-0 (or in the couple years) then a credible or possibly up and coming wrestler could be the answer (triple H, Cena, CM Punk, Barrett) but if they are going to drag him out every year until he can just about hold himself together like Flair then who knows..maybe it will become a joke.. signing up past legends just to fight and lose to The Undertaker at Wrestlemania. Like those Battle Royals they have sometimes. Wrestlemania 36..The Undertaker Vs Papa Shango etc..

I would like to see the Undertaker have one last run as a heel but doubt that now. Do you think he will ever be Champion again? I doubt that also..does not seem much point to it. Unless he is going to carry on after Wrestlemania 28.. a heel Undertaker Vs whoever the Champion at the time is could be interesting becuase it will lead everybody to believe he will lose and lose the streak.
