Sting apparently with WWE

Until he's walking down the aisle, or pointing a bat at the Undertaker from the rafters (that would be cool), I won't really believe it.

Every year we hear those rumors, but nothing like we are hearing this year and it makes sense financially for TNA to let Sting go. I for one am buying that Sting will be with WWE and he will not, most likely work with The Undertaker.

And I can hear it now. Sting confronts the Undertaker in the middle of the ring. And Taker grabs a microphone, looks Sting dead in the eye, and says, who in the blue hell are you? And the IWC implodes.

Joking aside, I know we have been down this road a few times over the last few years, but this time, I think it's happening. When and where, who knows, but I do believe that we will finally see the Icon in a WWE ring. It just fits too nicely with the launch of the WWE network, the ages of the guys involved, and the state of TNA.

I hate his music. Do we really need to sign an aging rockstar to fight 3MB? Cant we just pull someone from the retirement bin out back?

Oh.... That Sting. Well good. About time.

Does WWE have rafters? Are they willing to construct some? If so, I cannot wait for this to resonate in the year of 2014:

It's not that I think Sting vs. Undertaker is some amazing contest I must watch. I'm just not sure there's anyone bigger for Sting to have a match with.

I would not mind Punk vs Sting. People will say Cena just because -even though it isnt needed nor do I care. Other than Taker there really isnt anyone that springs to mind that makes any sense whatsoever.

Using him to put over some mid-card guys just seems like a waste. Likely they will stick him in a few tag matches to round things out.

Even though Sting vs. Undertaker has never happened, it seems as though there's a built-in story there. I don't know why, just seems that way.

Sting vs. Punk, at Mania, does not interest me.

Mania? Nah, RAW or other PPV like Summer Slam? Yeah.

I get the built in story thing though. Somehow it just feels like there is already something there between Taker\Sting without having to write too much of a story around them.

It has to be the similar evil feel to their characters that people are fond to remember over anything else solid. Which never made sense to me because for 95% of Sting's career he was the opposite of his 'Crow' vengeance gimmick. For that small time though, the man sure did make a huge damn impact.

Makes you wonder, would people actually give a shit about this match if Sting never started hanging out in the rafters? I doubt they would.

I think part of it is brand loyalty. Neither hopped sides in the big shuffle of the 90s and both have (effectively remained loyal to a brand that made them, or in TNA's case, one that would house them when they were already over). I think they are still perhaps the two most respected guys in the industry, both have kept their nose clean and never had any heat as far as I can remember which you can't say about Flair, Rock, Austin, Hogan or other guys in their league.

I've always said, it's more than the darkness that ties them together.

If Sting signs, it's going to be a version of the Monday Night Wars on WWE2K15. That's something to look forward to.

Its not about the quality of the match....its about seeing two larger than life characters standing across from each other at the biggest wrestling show in the world.

Theres your Wrestlemania moment right there...without them even locking up.

I dont think you can say the same with Lesnar/Taker.

I still believe a Lesnar/Batista match would be more intriguing.

Sign those two matches for Mania and you got my money.
