South Park Season 19 discussion

The City Part of Town is the best episode so far and I have worked out why, its because the story had a full arc rather than just a deus ex machina for the end that the first two did

The weakest episode of the season so far. But it's still South Park, so it's still good.

Also, "COULD YOU SPEAK A LITTLE LOUDER?" was one of the funniest moments of the season.

Also again, boogers and cum.

I loved this episode. I was cracking up the entire time. Glad to see no PC Principal or any of that other stuff they've worn out after the first episode of the season. This was a nice episode to break away from that and get back to making fun of a different thing. Cartman walking through the school to Bad to the Bone was hilarious.

This season has been fantastic. Last night's episode was probably the weakest so far, but it was still pretty good.

Good episode but definitely the weakest of the season. I loved how they wrapped it all up though with the boogers and cum solution.

Thus far, I'm laughing hysterically at every episode. Probably their best start in a few years where they aren't following up fantastic, gut-busting laughter episodes with duds.

Rest in Peace Whistling Willie, gone but forever in out hearts.

I see that now, so well done to them. Anyways, South Park just killed off Reality tonight.

Yep, that episode was so goddamn on point. I could've done without the Butters story, but Randy's stuff was golden, as always. And no South Park story has ever resonated with me more than the charity shaming, so I'm thankful to Parker and Stone for that. The "Just press on the starving child's stomach" line was glorious.

Another great episode. Really enjoyed that one. My question is this. We all have agreed that the best thing about this season is that they are carrying on stories fro one episode to the next. But why did they never do this before now? Laziness? No presence of mind?

Because there was no need to; it was just like every other cartoon. What cartoon do you know cares about continuity?

I think it came to a point though, where we saw with the Stan/Landslide episodes from a few of years back, where Matt and Trey were getting burnt out and wanted to bring the show into a new direction. It took them another 2 years or so to figure out exactly what to do, but they've now done it and this has been the best season in quite some time.

Anyway, I too loved last night's episode. So much subtle, smart humor.

They did last season.

I think it's how seasons are done now, it used to be split in two so really it never seemed like there was a break. The fact the season's in one chunk now allows a story to flow through.

Well that was... Something.

But hey! We know that Cartman is gay now. Which is... Yeah.

Cartman has always had effeminate tendencies hell the entire Awesome-o episode. I love the fact that essentially they made South Park into the completely politically incorrect place that we all know and love within the current PC storyline. the fact that they made Tweak and Craig gay in spite of their insistence that they aren't is hilarious for me

Don't get me wrong, I love South Park in any format. But the last two seasons have really hit my funny bone when it comes to continuity. We all like to see some sort of "pay-off" when it comes to TV shows and Parker and Stone have been giving us that the last few seasons. I get that there is a mid-season break and all that. But surely this could have been done sooner? Anyone else agree?

I'm honestly not enjoying this season as much as previous ones. Every episode being about political correctness is just not doing it for me. And I dont think watching every episode a couple of days later helps either, because someone normally pipes up and says its great and then I go in expecting big things

Glad I'm not alone here. The PC thing.was.hilarious the first episode. Second episode too even. But after that it got old fast. I liked the continuity of last season, but this is not continuity. This is more like a big three part episode or something. Last season it was just little references to the previous epiaodes. But at least there were different themes.

They're still funny episodes and I'm enjoying them. I'm just hoping for something new and for PC Principal to be gone.
