Someone Help Me Please

Everybody Has A Price!
So I bought new speakers for my computer since my puppy broke the old ones I had. But for some reason they aren't working on my computer. They are plugged into the computer and are on but for some reason I can't hear anything. They are Logitech speakers. If anyone could help it would be highly appreciated.

I am not being stupid but did you make sure you didn't have it on mute?

Go into your volume control and make sure anyway.

Post a picture of them.

Let me try to find one on the internet.

Yeah, it's not on mute. That was the first thing I checked. Also, when I plug them in there is no message saying something has been plugged into the jack.

You may have to install them (my computer knowledge ends here)

Anyone know how I would do that? The thing didn't come with an installation CD or anything.

Where did you plug them in?

Some speakers systems go in the headphones dock and some go in the speakers slot.

Make sure your speakers are ON. Also make sure your sound is on as well in the computer. if it comes with a CD with drivers, install them.

The speakers are on and so is the volume. However, when I go check the volume from the control panel, it says: no audio device is installed.

I plugged them into the speakers slot and nothing. I just tried on the headphones slot and still nothing. Normally when something is plugged in or out there is a message that comes up on my computer telling me something has been plugged or unplugged but nothing comes up now.

Try several applications. Different media players, games, etc. It could be the settings. Check to see where you can change these options (Control Panel, Properties, etc.) because it could be that those settings are off.

It sounds to me that you have bought faulty ones. Either that or they are not compatible with either your computer or Operating System.

Hmm, I guess that's a possibility. But my aunt has a dell computer too (I'm not sure what type hers is, mines is an Inspiron 5315) and she has the same speakers and they work perfectly fine for her.

Check the options because I've had similar problems and the speakers/headphones weren't the problem.

they should be working then. However. Right-Click on the Volume icon on the bottom right of your screen. Check to see if any of the programs your running have the sound muted when you click Mixer.

I did that and still nothing. When I go check the sound for the audio it keeps saying that no audio device is installed even though the speakers are plugged in.

There could be something on your computer to do with installing new hardware, search for it

I don't know where the volume icon went. How do I find it again?

Go to control panel and then device manager. Then tell me what it says under the sound and audio option.

EDIT: An OS is the operating system and will usually be XP, Vista, Windows 7 etc.

Oh ok. It's a Vista.

Also, when I go to Device Manager on the CP, it says Sound, Video and Game Controllers and under it says Realtek High Definition Audio.
