So it is safe to say that Aces and Eights have been a letdown?

Outside of those three, would anyone really have met the expectations people had?

Yep. Do people really think John Cena, Steve Austin or The Rock was going to be the leader? Outside of those three, would anyone really have met the expectations people had?

Not buying this. I would expect this from some of our TNA apologists on here who will praise anything TNA related regardless of logic or reason, but come on now.

TNA consistently markets BFG as being their biggest PPV of the year, their "Wrestlemania" so to speak. Things build towards it and culminate at it. It shouldn't be he starting point or even he midpoint of a storyline; something significant has to happen there. So when the build leading up to Aces and Eights proceeds for weeks or even months, and when it is heavily implied that a big development will happen there, and people choose to purchase or not to purchase largely because of it, I think there's an expectation of something more. And when that big development is the unmasking of a guy who had just dropped the TV title and allegedly left the company, and reaction to this ranged from apathy to happiness at his departure, and then he's the reveal, I can't blame people for feeling cheated.

It's BFG 2010 all over again. "Fool me once...."

This says it all. Once again, they sold us a bill of goods and gave us a weak payoff.

And the TNA super fans ask for "more time", because four months isn't enough to set up something like a reveal and we need another month and another PPV.

I'm not overly picky about who the members are but revealing Devon when the Aces and Eights match was built more than the World Title match at TNA's Wrestlemania was a major head scratcher, and not in a good way.

On the other hand though they seem to have some sort of stable that tries to take over almost every year so they are probably running out of people to use. 2 years ago it was Hogan and Hardy, Then there was Immortal, Main Event Mafia, Planet Jarrett, ect. Eventually you run out of people to use. I understand that but Devon is a piss poor singles competitor, having him as the big reveal is truly why the acronym WTF was invented.

Here's some free advice TNA: If you are going to go the stable route yet again make the 1st person revealed someone of significance. If you can't do that, DON'T go the stable route.

At no point on TV was it Heavily Implied that something Huge would happen at BFG

And even with more time, it's still a major letdown. Because BFG is not supposed to be a mere stepping stone in the progression of a storyline, like a regular PPV. It's supposed to be their Wrestlemania, their Superbowl, etc., Something either has to culminate there, or at least be a major development, and regardless of where they go now, how long it takes to get there, or who else is involved, this is a major disappointment.

Come on now, Joe, I know you're a huge TNA fan, one of the biggest on these forums, and that's all well and good, but I know you know better than this. What storyline has dominated Impact Wrestling for the last couple of months? What topic has generated most interest and discussion regarding TNA on these forums? It goes without saying that at the biggest show of the season, something significant has to go down. It does not need to be overtly stated to be true. And Devon quite frankly doesn't measure up. And I like Devon. But he's simply not BFG reveal-worthy.

Completely ignorant, blind-mark statement. They don't NEED to tell us... it's fucking BOUND FOR GLORY. It's supposed to happen.

SOMETHING Big did happen its just that You and Others didn't like it there's a difference between NOTHING Happened and Something Happened that you Didn't like

Like I just said to D-Man something significant Did Happen You just didn't like it the topic of Aces and 8s is still generating the most discussion

I would love to know the guys that if they were revealed it wouldn't be seen as a disappointment

Jeff Jarrett. Bully Ray. Eric Bischoff (although personally I would hate that one. Hulk Hogan (see Eric Bischoff comment). A collection of former WWE guys. Matt Morgan. Bobby Roode. James Storm (seeing how TNA loves swerves so much). Hell, even the recently turned Austin Aries. And that's without even really thinking about it. It doesn't have to be Cena, Rock, or Austin as Sly sarcastically suggested. But it's gotta be bigger than Devon freakin' Dudley.

It really amazes me how some fans just NEVER want to admit when something stupid happens on their program.

On a totally unrelated topic, where the hell is IDR? Is he off getting married or something? Cannot wait to hear his take on the big reveal at BFG.

If he's a real man, he should be four knuckles deep in his new wife right now. That, or he should be getting the last BJ of his life.

That's completed bullshit you know damn well if Jarrett or Bischoff is involved people will complain you said it yourself if its Bischoff you hate it. If its Storm Roode Or Aries people would say that makes no sense and if its Ex WWE guys people would go typical TNA putting over WWE castoffs over Homegrown Talent and whose to say Jarrett isn't still involved in some way and Ex WWE guys aren't also members of the group
