So, in the past two weeks...

TSG

Too Sweet To Be Sour
Ed McMahon-Talk show host

Farrah Fawcett-Actor

Michael Jackson-Singer and entertainer, King of Pop

Sly Saxon-Singer and Frontman of 60's underground L.A. rock band, The Seeds

Billy Mays-Infomercial Host

Steve "Air" McNair-NFL Quarterback

Robert McNamara-8th Secretary Of Defense, Former president of the Ford Moter Company, Former prsident of the World Bank

Waldo Von Erich-Professional Wrestler, competed in WWWF, tag team partner of Fritz Von Erick, trained many including TNA's Eric Young (this is being reported on the main site)

So, that is eight in the past 2 weeks. What a summer this has been, it will be one remembered forever, mainly, in no disrespect to the others, McNamara, Jackson, and McMahon, but also to fans of all eight performers. R.I.P. to them all, and here is to hoping no more pass. Also, R.I.P. to David Carradine, who passed away at the beginning of June. I know everyone has to die, but this is an awful large streak of big names in a short time.

Sly Saxon's death saddened me the most of all of these quite frankly. MJ was close, but Sly was such a genius and so personal to his fans that it was a god damned shame. The Seeds were a truly amazing band that laid the groundwork for the future of garage rock and punk.

Uhm...OK.

Tell me again why you had to point them out, when there is seperate threads for all of them and like 4176 for Michael Jackson alone?

Although, you are correct. It is a lot and I would prefer it if they were still alive obviously.

Really that is fucked up, I´m sure there is a much more polite way to say it but man... it´s fucked up.

I mean MJ, Billy Mays, Ed McMahon and Robert McNamara ... These men were well known and respected. I can´t reallysay that I know any of the other persons.

I'm like 10 seconds away from crying right now watching this Nomar Garciaparra tribute package the Red Sox are playing before he returns to Fenway for the first time in 5 years. Those of us who were able to watch him play for the Sox will always remember him as the greatest SS in the history of Boston.

And no, he's not dead. Realized it may sound like that.

Everything you said goes double for Michael Jackson. Everybody rips him off.

Have you seen what they're doing for Michael's funeral, they're selling tickets!? To a man's funeral? I'm assuming the will is going to be contested, The Insider only talks about him each show, it's probably the same on Entertainment Tonight, they're going tp puthis body on display for millions to gawk at, it's is disrespectful to exploit him like this, sorry but just my opinion.

They´re not selling them, They do it like some kind of tombola or something.

This has been happening to him his whole life. Nothing shocking to most us that they would do it to him in death. Bastards.

Is it his actual funeral? I thought it was just a memorial show, not his actual funeral. Where are you getting this info?

I saw an interview where they said that some hardcore MJ fans might try to get in by using brute force, I hope we won´t have a riot there.

1400 Policemen are protecting the memorial.

Towelie (That might be hard to get used to) is right!

It is only a memorial show.

Yeah memorial, but still I think the way they're exploiting his death is disgusting.

How is wanting to celebrate his life "exploiting his death"?

They´re not taking money for it and the Jackson family is giving the Tv rights out for free for every TV-station that asks for it.

We should face it Michael Jackson was one of the most famous persons of all time, if not the most famous person of all time.

I mean who doesn´t know MJ ???

Some people are using his death to make a profit. Also look at his estate, why are so many fighting over his will? Just go with his wishes and STFU about it. Even jermaine said that.

I am sure that it would not go ahead if the Jackson's said no. As it is they have obviously agreed to do it and this is only to allow his fans to celebrate his life one more time. I don't think it's disgusting. I actually think it is touching that people care that much about the man.

Bottom line is: If his family have OK'd the memorial then you have to respect it. They know him much better than any of us do and know what he would have wanted.

and tickets aren't being sold, it's a free lottery
