Smackdown LIVE: 7/26/16

Well, that's certainly exciting.

I didn't mention it but Dolph's promo was a highlight of the night. The win makes the idea of new character direction especially cool for me.

Main event definitely lifted the show for me but it didn't consistently rock like Raw did.

They need to spend a few weeks rebuilding Dolph into a more serious threat, but he hasn't lost any talent. I'm optimistic for this.

I don't hate Dolph, but it's weird that he would immediately go from being the WWE's perennial D-student to a Summerslam main event. This can work, it's just weird.

I'm guessing they felt they could just hit the reset button with the draft. I'm not sure they got away with it entirely, but Dolph can likely be rebuilt on the quick.

I still liked the show but it was definitely lacking and now this title match I
Just hope they can make something decent out of it. Cause I got over Dolph ages ago.

SummerSlam has Brock. Not to discredit any wrestlers, but they're likely less worried about title matches and their challengers.

I'm also okay with Bray Wyatt not losing another marquee match.

He hasn't gained any either, unfortunately. I'm cool with the match I guess. Seems like it'd be more suited for a B PPV but whatever, I'm sure it'll be fine.

For some reason, I feel Dolph winning benefits Ambrose the most.
I have a feeling people would root for Cena, Styles or Wyatt to beat him at SummerSlam. Ziggler, not so much.

Cesaro/Zayn/Owens... could have been one of those 3 in this spot and the majority would have been excited about its possibilities.

For sure, but I'm talking about the character. His major gripe was wanting to be on Smackdown where "wrestlers were the priority". I think we saw some degree of contrary evidence to that.
