Slyfox's Theory That John Cena is a Bigger Draw than Steve Austin

It needs it's own thread.

Sly said:
John Cena's movie did more in one weekend than Austin's movie did in it's entire time in theaters. Heck, Austin's movie is the only one that hasn't made the company movie, and instead put them far in the hole.

Thank God Cena is a good enough draw to carry Steve Austin.

^^

Is that just jaw dropping or what?

Hulk Hogan is WWF/E

:worship: Hulk Hogan.

Austin saved WWE, because HBK wasnt a good enough savior.

Not entirely. I've felt that, at least as it appears, Steve Austin is a bigger draw for wrestling fans. But Cena draws to a broader audience. Cena's popularity seems to transcend pro wrestling, kind of in a Hogan-esque kind of way. And this helps translate into good cross-promoting business. Cena has fans outside of wrestling. I'm not entirely sure how that happened, but it did. Steve Austin's entire fanbase consists of Attitude Era viewers. Many of those viewers no longer care about wrestling, and merely look at Austin as a fond memory. Austin's star has fallen in the eyes of essentially everyone besides people who still watch wrestling who watched it back then. It happens.

Austin owns everyone.

Austin without neck injury = the biggest star of all time.

Cena plus wrestling ability = Austin.

If Sly had said Hogan was a bigger draw than Austin then it is a whole different arguement but Stone Cold carried the company through its' most difficult time.

I am biased but Cena is not close to Austins' level and dare i say it, may only be popular due to being shoved down the audiences' throats for the past five and a half years.

I think it's funny how everyone missed what it was EXACTLY that I said, so let me break it down for people, because subtle clues are incredibly difficult.

IN 2008!! John Cena is a bigger draw than Steve Austin.

When people quit recanting the greatness of 1999, maybe they'll come around to the actual topic.

Hey, thanks!!

... umm, where is it? I'm going through green rep withdrawal. I've been getting nothing but gray rep lately. Some people just don't understand that when you have a neg. reputation, your opinions just don't matter... *cough*Russofan*cough*

You got grey from RussoFan too?:lmao:

Yup. It was so pathetic that I didn't even red rep him back. I busted his balls by PMing him and letting him know that his rep has zero power. He was SO PISSED!!

He repped me to inform me that my post was "unnecessary spam", which I found funny cause he clearly doesn't even understand what spam is

So your saying the guy who's a Raw every week, and is doing commercials for Subway and such, is a bigger draw in 2008 than the guy who's basically retired and only appears on Raw maybe a couple times a year?

Well no shit

Precisely.

John Cena is a bigger draw than Steve Austin.

That was my point from the very beginning.
