Slyfox's Theory That John Cena is a Bigger Draw than Steve Austin

Fact is, if Austin came out of retirement for one last run. Ratings would probably skyrocket after word got around.

Regardless of how shit the match is, by the end of it, it will be a classic. If...............it happened. It won't.

Taker/HBK and Cena/Batista are your main 25 matches IMO.

I want to think that too, but I'm going to make you paranoid and say that the Undertaker taps to the STFU, eww vomit.

Shocky, your going to make me have nightmares, and a hometown Houston crowd, oh god, we're talking riot.

I still may try to get tickets, but Houston is far as fuck and too much money overall so I don't know may just stick with Vengeance 08.

I agree too. The wrestling fanbase got fucked front, sideways and backwards the last 10 years.

For the worse, yes but for John Cena. No.

The Legacy Of Stone Cold Steve Austin DVD was beat out by the New York Giants Super Bowl DVD for the first place spot on Billboard's latest Video Sales - Recreational Sports DVD chart. The Undertaker 15-0 DVD, Raw 15th Anniversary DVD, Royal Rumble '08 DVD and Cena & HBK DVDs trail Austin's DVD. The New York Giants Super Bowl DVD beat out the Royal Rumble DVD last week.

Steve Austin still outdraws Cena.

Eli Manning > Steve Austin > Cena.

Wrong.

Eli is a proven draw. The Super Bowl had massive ratings, the NYG DVD is selling, he threw one of the greatest passes in superbowl history and more people watch the NFL and the New York Giants, than wrestling.

Eli > WWE.

I just think it has more to do with New York City being the biggest Market in America buying things. Brian Griese could have been the QB and 5 million New Yorkers would have still bought it.

The NFL >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>WWE, how is this even a conversation.

Draws, schmaws. I always thought Sly thought of stuff from too much of a business-orientated view. At least, he argues that way.

That is the whole point of wrestling. Too make money.

And yes Shocky, agreed.

Monday Night Football, Miami vs St Louis >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> RAW.

Steve Austin still outdraws Cena.
:lmao:

Your "proof" is one week of DVD sales, comparing a DVD which has been out less than a month to a DVD which has been out several months, not to mention, the fact that Austin's DVD is a career encapsulating DVD with his best matches, whereas Cena's is merely about him growing up with a few "decent" matches?

You're stretching Wes.

My personal entertainment value does not come from business related reasons.

However, when trying to analyze and debate why things happen in wrestling, the only way TOO look at it is through the eyes of a business.

On 9/23/93 The best of Virgil VHS outsold Wrestlemania IX between the hours of 9am and 10:45am at my local Wal Mart.

Virgil>Wrestlemania

What's so good about Cena?

Austin is synonymous with the Attitude Era, when things were going great for the WWE/F, and synonymous with giant reactions.

Cena is synonymous with hatefilled boos, lengthy title reigns and negative posts on wrestling forums.

Oh, and also, smarks love Austin. Smarks hate Cena. Kids forget who Austin is. Kids love Cena.

Clearly, when you appease to smarks, it brings ratings. Neglect them, and you're left with a child-oriented audience that brings you 3.4's every week. Yay, go Cena. You outsold a long-retired wrestler in movie sales. Cena = Wrestling and Drawing God.

In Austin's heyday, guys like Cena would never make it. The WWE sold out to resort to doing everything they could to make children like their product. Yet, they still get shit from the media in every facet and every direction for being unsuitable, bad influences, etc. Backfire and a half.

Enough about Cena though...The Children's Champion.
