Sly smark

Murfish

is losing his edge
I believe that a lot of posters, especially new ones, only feign their love for Slyfox. I, personally, am a fan of his. I was first swayed by his arguements in the Wrestlzone Tournament. I found his posts to be more detailed and more logical than other posters'. When I see some posters react to Slyfox, I get a feeling that they only agree or show respect because they think that they are "supposed" like him and that he is in the IWC's favor. Of course I'm not actually saying that this is the actual case.

I don't get the love affair with Sly. He's a fantastic wrestling poster. He deserves respect. The reason so many newbies feign that respect towards Sly is because he is, sadly, the exception to the rule, being that so many newbies post poorly and Sly posts like he's writing for the New York Times. More people should post with Sly's dedication, but is that a reason to be a mark for him? No. You need a new hero.

I like Sly, he's an intelligent 11 yr old. He knows his shit, and i always find myself reading his post. Same goes for IC, and Will but i am NOOOOOO Sly Mark.

Oh IC25, you know you used to mark for me too. Just admit it, I used to be your hero.

And, so far I haven't seen the REAL reason I think newbies feign respect. The real reason, in my mind, is simple. Because they are intimidated by my posting knowledge and posting style. And I'm serious about that, and mean it in a non-arrogant way. There are posters myself that I used to feel the same way about...still do.

Just not on this forum.

I was mentioned on another forum in the sports thread in the gridiron and i was banned like 7 months ago.. i'm famous.

 They must be amazing.

Your post about Cena and ONS (a long time ago) won me over. ^__^

I have mixed feelings about Sly. On the one hand, he sticks to his guns, no matter what , and I admire that. On the other hand, however, he can be a little too overzealous in his opinions, in by that I mean, he'll argue the slightest variation in opinion, even when someone is agreeing with the main part of what he is saying. But unfortunately, I'll be damned if I can't prove that every thing he says is absolutely right lol.
I think Sly follows the Nick Naylor philosophy of arguement; it's not about proving yourself right, it's about proving everybody else wrong, and thereby making himself right.

I've always respected Sly. He always has something to say that isn't popular with the locals, but it's always been true. Sometimes, I disagreed with some of his comments, but when I actually thought about it, his points made sense and he presented them accurately and intelligently.

He can explain in great detail why ROH isn't God's gift to wrestling, what made ECW a horrible promotion, why TNA isn't as bad as the critics think, or why the then WWF's attitude era wasn't all it's cracked up to be.

The problem is the naysayers don't like to admit their wrong, so they desperately cling to their opinion no matter how many times he counters back with something far greater. I always enjoy watching his disputes, because everyone gets so riled up about what he says. It's a shame there aren't people like him on other forums.

I've never known anyone who could produce more thought-provoking arguments than him. Whether it's WWE, TNA, ROH, ECW, WCW, or any other wrestling promotion in general, Sly is always right on the mark about everything he says.

Yeah, I'm busted. I tried to be all tough and hard, but I can't do it. Sly and I are the presidents of each other's respective fan clubs.

You have a fan club?

It appears so.

I don't need a fan club. I am happy doing the good works for Santino.

But despite all of my Shawn Michaels hatred, HBK-aholic still seems to have my back. That's better than a many fan clubs can say.

Sly, when we get the debating section back up and running, you and I have to have an epic match!
