Should TNA Merge With or Buy Out Wrestlicious?

Should TNA merge buyout wrestlicious?
Ok, I will start buy saying wrestlicious is a low budget all female wrestling company, in tample fl, you can read about it here:
http://www.wrestlicious.com/
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wrestlicious

The reason why I bring this up is I think that TNA has a GREAT women/knockout division and wrestlicious is all female and I think the expanded roster could help TNA.
I’ve only seen like 2 episode of wrestlicious but it wants bad and being that there were on tv they are “professional” of a sort, what do you think?

It'd be a waste of time and money. You're entitled to your opinion but, to me, the Knockout Division is pretty much crap and has been for more than 2 years now. TNA used to have a Knockout Division filled with women that not only looked good but most of them could actually wrestle well. The Knockouts are now more along the lines of the Divas in WWE in that it's mostly just an excuse for male viewers to look at attractive women wearing skimpy and/or skin tight spandex outfits.

The real reason why it'd be a waste of time is because women's wrestling has never, ever been a draw in America. It's just how it is and only extremely hardcore fans ultimately give a damn about women's wrestling, especially these days. If this happened and TNA didn't ultimately fire the vast majority of the Wrestlicious roster, said vast majority would probably never be on television. The Knockouts typically have one segment on Impact Wrestling each week, sometimes they'll get two, but it's usually just one that's either a match or promo segment.

And there's no need to even think about suggesting that TNA could always create a second show, this one for the Knockouts only, so that it could accomodate the gals of Wrestlicious. It's an idea that Dixie Carter suggested a few years back when the Knockout Division was in a much stronger and more relevant position. Why didn't they go through with it? I'm guessing because she was surrounded by a lot of people that informed her that women's wrestling doesn't draw money.

If TNA was to try to buy out or merge with another wrestling company, there's simply a lot more money to be made by trying to buy or merge with ROH rather than a nothing women's promotion.

Their knockouts are great for female wrestlers right now.
I would never tune in to watch them, but I will say, I don't bathroom break for them as much as I do for Kelly Kelly matches.

TNA doesn't need to expand it's female roster though, they have plenty to work with, more than what they have means squeezing the male roster, which male wrestling has a much higher potential with their demographic.Wrestling isn't like porn, the guys actually want to watch guys wrestle.

Interesting idea, but if they were to even consider an idea like this, then I believe they would be much better suited to create a working relationship with Shimmer who possess great workers. The females have never been great draws on their own but I would argue that it is to TNA's benefit to provide strong alternatives to WWe and their women's division could be a good place to start. I'm sure Shimmer would love to have the additional publicity along with the occasional loan of a Mickie or a Gail.

Personally, i think it would'nt a great move for TNA to buy Wrestlelicious. The big reason is that all the wrestlers on the wrestlelicious rosters are not under contract to them anyway so if TNA really wanted to have theses womens on their rosters they could have sign them without having to worry about Wrestlelicious.

Secondly, right now, most female wrestlers in the indies don't want to go to TNA mostly because of the way TNA treat the knockout division and how low TNA is paying them. They are better off continuing on the indies and japan then going to TNA.

Unless the knockout division goes back to what it was in the beginning, i don'T see why any female wrestlers would want to go to TNA. If they are going to be use poorly, might have well try to get into WWE, at less they are going to get pay more for doing nothing.

I'm going to be blunt. TNA should absolutely not buy and or merge with Wrestlicious. Right now the knockouts only get a little bit of air time and right now many knockouts are just not getting screen time. Before the Karen Jarret storyline Madison Rayne wasn't used for weeks. Here's another one for you where is Mickie James? ODB? Angelina Love? Ect. ect.

The point I'm trying to express is that Wrestlicious only has a few good names on their roster. I use to watch the show and already look at who came from over there. Madison Rayne was a cheer leader and Lacey Von Erich came over as well. So I feel like TNA already has gotten who they would want from that brand. TNA needs to focus on giving the knockouts they already have more air time not adding new ones so they can fade away just as fast as they can.

When you buy a company to merge with your company, the reason you do it is that you believe that you will be able to make more money than the purchase price of the company you are buying, using the assets of that company which were out of your reach previously.

I do not see at all how TNA/IW could use Wrestlelicious's assets to make themselves more money than the purchase price. The Knockouts aren't a draw- Mickie James might sell a few t-shirts, but no one would have a terribly emotional reaction if they disappeared off of the show. Why purchase a whole wrestling company which no one wants to see as it is?

The reason women's wrestling doesn't draw money in America is because it's never been presented in a serious fashion anywhere except SHIMMER. I mean when you give the girls names like something out of the old 007movies and you have Jerry Lawler going "Puppies! Puppies!" and acting like a 13 year old who just mainlined red bull and discovered his father's old pornos in the attic fans are obviously going to see it as little more than glorified porn.

And when you have Michael Cole taking naps during the match and in general taking a big wet dump allover the product it teaches the fans hey the commentators don't take it seriously, why should we? Then the the promoters figure the fans aren't interested and continue not to take it seriously In return the fans still don't take it seriously. Thus the cycle keeps repeating itself.

Not at all true I'm afraid. When I say women have never been a draw in wrestling, I'm talking about women's wrestling going back to wrestling's beginning and not just the past 13 years or so. Back in the 80s, the WWF did make serious attempts at marketing women's wrestling. They had stars like the Fabulous Moolah, Wendi Richter, Leilani Kai, Velvet McIntyre, Sherri Martel, Robin Smith (AKA Rockin' Robin) and various others and they were treated seriously. The matches weren't all that great most of the time, but they weren't treated like tits and ass filler either. The WWF even had a women's tag team title that they used for a few years. Some of the matches were good, especially the ones featuring the Jumping Bomb Angels (Noriyo Tateno & Itsuki Yamazaki). But it never caught on despite the women being treated and hyped as serious wrestlers, leading to both titles being deactivated in the very late 80s and very early 90s. The WWF tried to start things up again with a serious women's division in the mid 90s. Alundra Blayze, Bull Nakano and others had legit, good solid matches and were hyped as serious wrestlers. And, again, it never caught on. The WWF Women's Championship was deactivated again until 1998 when WWF decided to take it's women's division into a different direction, which is mostly where it's been ever since.

In the NWA during the 1980s, the NWA World Women's Champion would sometimes be featured on television. The NWA has ALWAYS treated women's wrestling more seriously than either WWE, TNA or WCW did but, again, it wasn't a draw. The title itself was deactivated in April 1987 and wasn't reactivated until May 1996.

Women's wrestling isn't a draw. It's never been a draw, it's probably never going to be a draw and that was how it was even before the Divas came along.

The historical demographics for pro wrestling, especially the late 90s was the 18-34 male. What do they like? Hot women. And thus was born the "puppies puppies" thing.

Considering that the highest ratings of the night for TNA are during the knock out matchs I would say no need to buy out wrestlelicious. They have the best woman in wrestling and can barely give them enough air time. IMO they need to find a way to get the current KOs on TV more without sacrificing what the show is currently about. Glad it's not my job.

Pssst... A wwe main event match between Richter and Moolah drew a 9.0 neilson rating in 1984.

That's almost 3x what the average male dominated raw has been getting for years.

Like dirty said, if you book something in the right way, people will see it as important. If you treat it like a joke (divas, or mainstream wrestling in general), people won't bother.

so this basically proves that women are good for shit except making babies, cooking and cleaning.

but to be serious I enjoy TNA knockout sometimes more than the rest of the show...however this was pre karen jarret...

PS why is it everytime the jarrets have something good they f**k it up by putting themselves in the forefront ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
