Should TNA get a second show?

Pre-Show Stalwart
As of late, TNA has been on a signing spree and I things seems to be getting better for them as a company.

Do you think with Epics, that TNA should create a second wrestling show?

Would it hurt them or benefit them?

I think a second show would help push their other stars, If I was in charge. I would put Daniels as the top face of the program and put the TNA Legends title as the top title for the brand since it has no purpose with IMPACT.

I'm split on this one

On the one hand a second show would help the stars who aren't being show cased on iMAPCT and it may help them bring in more revenue.

On the other hand they need to get rid of a lot of the roster and then they wouldn't have enough stars for 2 shows. Also they don't make enough money or viewers to justify a second tv show right now

I think having a second show would definately help TNA out a lot! IMPACT is only 2hrs long which is not enough time to push all of the stars on their roster. Someone like Eric Young could definately benefit from a second show. His recent heel turn would work perfectly on a second show cuz honestly, I don't see it working out in IMPACT with all the top stars over shadowing him. Plus like Enigma said, then they can use the Legends belt and give it some purpose.

TNA just doesn't have enough talent or creative ideas to have another show. I mean, Impact, while having a steady audience, isn't particularly great. I spent months watching it, but I saw nothing which would make me think they can handle filling another 1-2 hour time slot. They need to cnotiue to solidify their fan base and talent, before thinking about that.

Eh, I don't know if TNA is ready for a second show. They certainly have the talent to pull it off. That means wrestlers other than the Main Event Mafia would actually get some air time. Those not involved in the Main Event Mafia storyline could actually have fueds of their own develop properly instead of being a filler spot. The main event scene is only big enough for so many people. Since the X Division has become less of a focus, TNA has not done such a good job with their mid card talent. A second show would give them the opportunity to bring the X Division back into the limelight and/or put some focus on their mid card guys.

Those opportunities also bring with it some caution. Is the creative team ready to take on an additional show? Would there be interesting and solid storylines for the entire roster. Also, production costs money. Does TNA generate enough profit to be able to produce a second show?

Is this a serious question? I'm fairly certain that your main show needs to be getting better then low 1's in the ratings for you to get a second show. Impact by itself isn't that great. They have a lot of talent but they seem to be focusing way too much on story lines and not enough on the wrestling. It is a two hour show and sometimes you only get 3 or 4 matches.

The WWE makes it look easy but it isn't that easy to have multiple shows. Just ask WCW. They had a great a great show in Nitro, but when they debuted Thunder it flopped. TNA needs to focus on making Impact good and not on getting another show.

OK, this thread has made me break my WZ forums virginity...

NO!!

The problem with TNA is not the amount of time in which to showcase its stars, its how they go about doing it...

Everyone online always praises the hell out of AJ, Daniels, Joe, MCMG etc, but are these guys the ones showcased in the main events??

Rarely if ever.... Even if they are its either a job to the MEM, or its just AJ and Daniels on impact. (Great match, but more time please???)

If they were to focus more on the above mentioned guys plus Beer Money, Abyss and hell, even EY, (the guys who made the company!!!!) Im sure more "Smarks" and therefore fans would respect TNA as a company, and impact as a two hour show!

Well at the moment, it seems like they're having problems with the one show they have. The writers don't know what to do, and there's alot of unnecessary crap on the show.
Mick Foley vs Rocky. Come on, seriously.

But at the same time, TNA does have a lot of talent. The point of making Impact 2 hours was to give more time for the members of the roster who didn't get tv time very often. They have succeeded, but only to a certain extent. Thinking of all the wrestlers currently in TNA off the top of my head, there's only about half of them that were on Impact last week. So a second show, possibly an hour long one, could benefit some of the lesser known talent.

But this cannot be done until Impact is a consistently solid show with a decently sized fanbase. Cause imagine the crap we see on impact.... Doubled. That's essentially what we'd be seeing on a second TNA show. And they might not even use the second show as a way to show off young talent, they could end up using it to push the MEM/Foley/Jarrett even more.

So to answer the question.... No. Not until Impact is better.

Yes, but only one the proviso that it begins with an X. If it doesn't, then I'm just not intrested. I think the general rule when it comes to using the X is that the word should really begin with an E. TNA XASPERATED, XPULSION, XPIDURAL. Something along those lines.

Could be great for the younger wrestlers to have their own show where they can get a shot.

In theory, I think they are more than capable of putting on a second show, as their roster in deep enough to accommodate three to four hours of programming a week. But, practically, I think right now that they would be best off by keeping what they have (could they even afford another show?).

TNA's priority right now should be aiming for a 1.5 to 2.0 weekly rating for iMPACT!. Furthermore, if this doesn't happen sometime this year, I think that they should seriously consider moving to another channel.

I think the reason why IMPACT will never get over the 1.2 hump is simply because Spike TV is not very popular. It's not really a well known channel and don't even air any good shows other than TNA.

The only way IMPACT will bring in 2.0 ratings is unless they move to a different channel that's well known. People would tune in since it's a different wrestling company all together and I'm pretty sure if they improve their storylines, they will gain alot more viewers as well.
