Should the Undertaker become the American Badass again?

Hell No. Fuck No.

To be honest. I never really like the Undertaker. I never liked his promos and his persona yet i do believe he is one of the best in the ring and among the best at telling a story in the ring. I love his in-ring work but never liked his dead man gimmick nor his American badass gimmick.

The reason why I'm dissagreeing is I'd rather see Punk poke fun of his current gimmick as opposed to his Badass gimmick. As a side note: Punk's awesome.

Answer to your question? Biker Taker? Hell NO.

Personally I am a mark for whatever gimmick the guy want's to show. If he wants this one is fine by me, like the gongs and everything like I did when he started as The Undertaker, the Big Evil/ ABA gimmick was good too but the core of it now is the Hybrid kind of Personality he has now, which has lead to a bunch of great feuds and so cool to be exploited.

I mean he is the Dead man and everyone freaks out when they face him, but when it really matters, more than being afraid, his rivals defies the Dead man gimmick and that works great, like HBK did, like Batista did, like Big Show did, like Edge did and now Punk.

Besides with this gimmick he seems unbeatable, supernatural unbeatable, way more than with the ABA one, so when he puts some one over (like he did with Batista, Show and Hardy on Smackdown) it has greater ramifications than when he was the ABA who seemed to be very strong, but human enough to be defeated, Damn even Albert defeated him almost cleanly in a tag match with that gimmick.

If he wants to bring his Motorcycle again that would be cool, but I mark like a kid when I hear the damn gong and see the lights out.

I loved the American Badass gimmick but I can only support the change if Taker was planning to return to full time Roster. The deadman gimmick as has been mentioned works with the one to three month feud and can make a sudden impact and be gone just as fast whilst putting over some talent. However the american Badass gimmick requires him to stay around for long periods of time and establish feuds as he loses his mystique.

So as much as I like the gimmick I doubt taker could return for long enough at a time to make the American badass thing work again.

Taker is Taker no matter what gimmick he has he is one of my all time faves and i could see him as Big Evil and maybe ABA but either way Punk is in Taker's yard and now that he along with T-Lo screwed him over i'd hate to be in Puk's shoes or Mr.Long's shoes

I never liked him as the badass the first time around, but it could work after what happened at Breaking Point. I'd prefer it if he came out with the fires of hell and started whooping ass and taking names, but if they choose to not do that, then the badass would be the next best thing. Let him come out on a bike, talk some shit, and then get his hands on Vince, Shane, whoever he wants to right the wrong.

This should boviously end around the time the Rumble comes along, because the Deadman is much better for builds to WrestleMania...

I loved his Big Evil gimmick. It was a breath of fresh air for both 'Taker and the fans. He shouldn't go back to it, though. I'm happy with him just talking a bit more, acting a little more "human" in the ring.

But, I think he should definitely go back to the Ministry theme It's so much better than his current one.

First off its the PG era and I am pretty sure they wouldnt put a charachter called badass anything out their anymore. Second how could the straight edge gimmick bash the American Badass charachter more than he can the deadman gimmick? The American Badass charachter was a hard working tough as nails American loving guy who likes motorcycles. The Undertaker on the other hand is an ungodly guy that is demented enough to belive he is dead and has special powers recived from an urn and that has satanic druids come out to help him at times. Lol sorry just not getting your logic on that one.

Personally, I loved the bad ass gimmick. But I have to agree with a lot of others here, he'll be done in the next couple years, and I think he should absolutely go out as the Phenom, The Dead Man, or 100 other nicknames. It would be pretty cool to see him ride out one last time on his bike, especially to his American Bad Ass music.. As much as I hated that song, it worked really well for the Undertaker.

Just responding to the subject: No, Undertaker should NOT go back to being the big greasy American Redneck. He's too close to it for my liking now.

The American Bad Ass was a shit, shit gimmick. Seriously, it worked for Palumbo, but it didn't make much sense at all for the Undertaker, which is why it was aborted as soon as the weird make wrestling realistic phase was over. Nobody cared as much about this Undertaker, and also, the last ride is the worst of Taker's finishers over the years.

That being said, the American Bad Ass would probably be better at being an interesting champion, so maybe when he beats Punk he should change back.

I honestly don't understand how people can say it didn't work, or he hated doing the gimmick. It was himself. How could he hate being himself. If memory serves, it was Vince who hated the gimmick, because he liked the western mortician look. ABA/Big Evil, had more depth to it, were the Deadman is less so, because of the supernatural style of it, which gives him less mic time and very repetitive promos. I don't see it happening, but i'd really love to see it happen, and it'll be hard for him to retire and be inducted as the deadman, unless they kept kayfabe extremely tight and did it like a funeral for his induction.

First he was a zombie, and then he became the Minister of Darkness, then a biker, then a sort of combination of all three. I think he shouldn’t go back to the biker, but instead another form. Maybe a more defined combination of all his forms. Imagine the King (“Prince” sounds so young at this point in his career) of Darkness on an all black motorcycle or something, cowboy hat and all with a darker sounding entrance theme song. Maybe even have Kane join him and give him an all red motorcycle. Taker’s little brother needs something fresh as well anyway.

I'm not trying to start an argument here, i'm just curious - those who say they hated the ABA gimmick - what was it about it you hated?

In my opinion it fitted the era perfectly, gave the Undertaker more mic time, and made him seem as tough as hell - dare I say it, somewhat tougher than his ministry gimmick because he didn't rely on minions. Even the Last Ride looked devastating in my view.

As for whether he should return to that gimmick now, well, despite it being the point of this thread, i've no idea!

The Undertaker American Badass gimmick was one of the worst ideas I have ever seen. I don't think you could have had an stranger change of gimmick unless the Nation of Domination became white supremacists. Other than the fact that I think it's completely dumb on taker, I think the whole "biker" gimmick is played out.

If taker was headlining Smackdown with that gimmick I would lose all interest in watching.
