I think I agree with keeping it a secret and teasing that something big was going down on Monday night. I just like it when you have an honest to god, "holy crap!" moment. They're so rare in wrestling these days, there's no surprises, no reason to tune in if you' weren't already planning on it.
I'm not a huge TNA fan, but they're growing on me. The in-ring wrestling is definitely good stuff, more excitement than the WWE. However, the production value of the televised show seems cheap, 2nd class if you will. When they fix the "look" of the product, make it seem like a big-time production, the fans will filter in more steadily and a Surprise Acquisition will truly make a splash for them.
I mean, if you don't watch Monday, and RVD appears (without you knowing it's going to happen), you're likely tuning in next week because you don't want to miss what might happen next. It's good business. TNA doesn't need to worry about ratings right off the bat, they have to worry about building a good foundation. The ratings will come if they build it right.
