Sherlock Holmes 2

Dean Winchester

Getting Noticed By Management
Movie scheduled to come out this December and the main villian in the film will be Professor Morality. So does anybody have high expectations on this film? The first movie was good, with good action, acting and story, plus liked the villian in Lord Blackwood. Professor Morality of course is Holmes archnemisis so this film should be even better then the first film. What does anybody esle think? I know Robert Downey Jr will have another good performance as Sherlock Holmes.

I'm not putting too much faith into it. The first film was pretty cookie-cutter in my opinion. It wasn't bad per se. But wasn't anything special. It actually reminded me of a typical summer blockbuster even though it was released on Christmas. Entertaining, but not a lot of meat in it. I expect the same from the second one as well.

I really enjoyed the first one and no one is going to tell me it is because I have bad taste. It was because it was a decent movie. Funny and entertaining throughout, I came out of the cinema thinking that I would have loved to see a sequel and that the door was left open for that to happen.

Personally, I could not be more giddy about a sequel. I thought Robert Downey Jnr. played a great part in the first movie and I am more than happy to see him reprise that role for this one. My expectations are very high because of how much I liked the first one but I am sure that the writing and acting will be good enough to meet those expectations. Really, all I am asking for is some comedy and an intriguing plot to suck me into the movie. If the first one is anything to go by, then I should be in for a treat as it was thoroughly enjoyable movie.

As is stated in the OP, Professor Morality should be a very interesting nemesis for Holmes. I am not the most well-versed Sherlock Holmes fan but I realise that this movie has the potential to be an improvement on the first one, if that is even possible. The potential is there for this movie to be a huge blockbuster, as was the case for the first one and I expect that it will go on to prove me right... Hopefully.

^ Agreed the sequel should be better then the first movie because of Holmes arch nemisis being in the film. Plus RDJ is always awesome to watch in any kind of film he may be in.

Didn't this movie receive widespread critical acclaim? Who's going to tell you that liking this movie is the same as having bad taste?

Anyway, I've hyped this movie up in my head so much that I'm not sure how much I'm going to like it. I firmly hold the position that Moriarty is the single best literature villain in history. Sherlock Holmes was so good of a movie, that I don't know how I'm going to restrain myself from waiting in line 6 hours before the release of Sherlock Holmes 2.

Code for "it was expensive looking, fun, and had a a big star without the illusion of intelligence produced by dreams within dreams, so I should use to word "entertaining" rather than "good" to look smart when the elitists show up," right?

The first movie was buckets of Guy Ritchie fun mixed with Sherlock Holmes lore. Not a dull moment to be found and just very, very palatable. With Holmes' arch nemesis being featured in the next film, I have no reason to believe this project won't be able to live up to the previous installment in the series. Colour me interested.

Pretty much what Coco said, this film really excites me and will fit in nicely with the Holmes ethos as it were. You all know Moriarty is Holmes' nemesis but how many times did he actually appear in a Holmes story? Actual appearance was only twice and I'm glad they had the tease in the last film where you don't actually see him fitting in line with this.

Even if it is "cookie cut" like the last one who gives a crap? Great visuals, story, acting and humour oh and fun means that if SH2 is the same I should be rather excited.

Lol is that a cheap attack on Inception?...joking but yeah bascially Sherlock Holmes was your good, fun and entertaining B style action film.

Well I'm a big fan of Sherlock Holmes so I hope they do it right, but there is not much to worry since you have Robert Downey and Jude Law, both greact actors in my opinion.

Well it currently holds a 70% fresh rating at Rotten Tomatoes, but at least it won an award for Robert Downey's perfomance.

One of the few movies I disagree with Rotten Tomatoes score. I adored the first film. Downey was fucking brilliant in the first movie, and that really solidified him as one of my favorite actors. I fully expect this movie to be just as great. Like Coco said it has Sherlocks arch nemesis in it so I can really see this movie surpassing the first one. The first one had everything you can want in a movie. Great performances by the actors, fantastic visuals, and great storytelling. Can't wait for this movie.
