Sell Me On: WZCW

Karzai will be this year's surprise entrant. And just like last year's, he'll disappear soon after, never to be seen again.

How do you apply? I looked around the other day but couldn't find anything.

Follow the form provided and create your E-Fed grappler.

Creative will go over your form, and work with you on movelists. You can't use a finisher already used by another member, and in general they just make sure that we aren't seeing the same 15 moves on everyone's list. After any issues and conflicts are ironed out, you'll get a trial match to RP for. If you get the green light from Creative after that, you're in.

I don't speak for Creative, but I will point out that they probably won't go over new apps until after the next show, Lethal Lottery, so expect a week or so delay before hearing back from them.

Funny...it was a thread like this started by X last year that got me into this. Who's gonna be the hot new contender this year, I wonder?

Rox and Armbar will fuse into one person and win every title and unify them all into the RoxBar Championship.

So what I got from reading the instructions is that once you create a character, you only got to do RP's which is basically cutting promos.

But what type of promos do you have to cut? Is it only against your opponent or just to promote your character? Or does the creative give you a situation and a bit of what the promo should be about?

You make promos yourself, talk about your character and your opponent, upcoming matches, etc. It's all you.

Both really, you would RP against your opponent but the better guys will also do a character development.

Tons of example out there in the roleplay board. Here's one of mine for example:

Its whatever type of promo you want. If you have a match there is usually at least some mention of your opponent but you can do whatever you want with it. You come up with everything yourself, creative will give you pointers though. Checkout the roleplay board to see what RP's are like.

So for the sample pic,we can use a pro wrestler right? FOr example,I want to use either Johnny Curtis or Zack Ryder for mine,is that cool?

Okey dokey. I'm gonna take some time and work on this, make sure I get it right on the first try.

It's one of the best places on this site, if not the best. Everyone is very supportive of each others characters and trying to make each show amazing. It really gives you free reign to be as creative as possible. My character made a device called the Power Glove that makes his right hand strong because he is a weak video game geek other wise. He made it while working for the military, went crazy, and decided to join WZCW.

Good to know they give you room to be creative with your gimmick haha. That sounds interesting.

You guys are also entering at an exciting time as the Lethal Lottery, which is WZCW's Royal Rumble, is taking place next Sunday and Kingdom Come (WZCW's Mania) is the PPV afterwards.

Yeah timing is great at the moment.

Any questions will be answered somewhere in the backstage section and best way to get an idea of what we are about is to have a look at the roster section and the roleplay board.

The type is up to you. Reading through the RP's for any one recent show will give you an idea of what you can do. Again, you can go for something more traditional, or you can in essence make a mini-movie.

As for what it should be about, the recipe for success I was taught and have used is that three things form the core of your RP:

TALK ABOUT YOUR LAST SHOW/RECENT EVENTS

Reflect on your recent win/loss, and how your guy is taking it. Sometimes Creative may put your guy into some hijinks during a show; let's say for example The Crashin Movement jumps you on your first night. Get into that.

TALK ABOUT YOUR UPCOMING MATCH/EVENT

Trash talk is great. Talk about the next chump you're going to rollover. Maybe talk about why you feel you're going to squash. Or maybe talk about how much you can't stand the big jerk. Or maybe get on the guy's case for being a goody-two-shoes. Anytime you see a promo or a segment on a show, it's building up to something, and that's what this is for. The more you know about your opponent's character and their history, the better your trash talking will be.

CHARACTER! DEVELOP SOME!

A gimmick you design on paper is nice and all, at least until you start doing a match every other week or so. Be fluid with your little grappler. Don't just tell us he's a ********. Show us. Do things, big or small, that give life to him. Some use comedy. Some use wit. Some people establish other non-wrestling characters to help out, like a manager, assistant, or friend. The other two parts above are going to change as you go forward, more or less out of your control. This will be what holds those parts of your RP together. This is what you have entire control of.

I think I just made it sound waaaaay harder than it needed to sound, but don't worry. It really is a blast.

As long as it hasn't been used already. I don't think there's a Zack-looking goon around at the moment.

What Numeros said. Look at that! One New Year's resolution almost accomplished and I didn't have to do the hard work!

If you come up with Cocky rich heel I will ban you
