Pre-Show Stalwart
PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) – Actor Ryan Dunn, a star of the "Jackass" movie franchise, died early Monday when the 2007 Porsche he was driving careened off a highway and burst into flames.

An unidentified passenger also died in the crash at 2:38 a.m. local time.
Police in West Goshen Township, a western suburb of Philadelphia, said they found the car off the road in a wooded area. They said it was "fully engulfed in flames."

A police statement said a "preliminary investigation revealed that speed may have been a contributing factor to the accident."

Dunn, 34, born in Medina, Ohio, lived in nearby West Chester, Pennsylvania, police said.

Shortly before the accident, Dunn posted a photo to his Twitter account at 1 a.m. which apparently showed him drinking with friends.

The daredevil actor, part of the stunt-crazy crew in the Jackass movie franchise, also starred in "Haggard: The Movie," in which he played himself.

My hearts go out to his family and friends . Dunn was a great man RIP

Wow, I knew Ryan Dunn and the other jackass crew weren't role models or the picture of health, but I'm still surprised. I always thought Steve O would be the first to go considering his past drug problems. I saw the photos of Dunn drinking with friends before the car crash, and even his wrecked vehicle afterward. Its sad what happened, but if Dunn was driving intoxicated then no one can really defend his actions. I guess you could say at least he didn't injure anyone else.

Dunn was one of the funniest ones in Jackass and will be truly missed i'll always remember the swimming in the poop factor and going to Bam's mom house and having to eat outside cuz he stunk so bad. I really hate to say this and be an asshole but in my mind i never thought Dunn would be the first to die off the jackass crew i thought it would be somebody different

New reports say he was doing up to 130mph.
Drinking/drunk , or not,this asshole killed an innocent person,through
his own stupidity.

It is indeed a sad loss, but the fact it was 100% avoidable doesn't make it as tragic really. Where I live there are a lot of young drivers killed on the roads because of speeding and alcohol and the police and associative agencies are pretty much tearing their hair out that no-one is learning from the past mistakes on notorious roads.

Although Roger Ebert's tweet about it was perhaps ill-timed, I don't think anyone can argue with what he was saying. The fact Dunn posted a picture of himself in a state of intoxication just hours before the crash again takes a lot of the tragedy from the equation and replaces it with stupidity. It's sad and frustrating.

Not to be a dick, and I'm not wishing death on anyone but I'm actually surprised more of them haven't died.

Nah I know what you mean. When my mate told me a member of the cast had died I automatically thought Steve-O or Pontius due to drink and/or drugs, then Preston or Wee-Man because of their physical shape.
