Going on 10 years with WrestleZone
This is a first round match-up in the all time survivor series team tournament. These two teams have been selected at random to face each other. Polls will be open for 3 days.

Team Canada

Team Canada is from the 1997 Survivor Series, and consisted of The British Bulldog, Jim Neidhart, Doug Furnas, and Philip LaFon. They defeated "Team USA," which consisted of Vader, Golddust, Marc Maro, and Steve Blackman. This match is often forgotten because of the greatly overshadowing events of the Montreal Screwjob, which occured later that night. Davey Boy Smith was the sole survivor, winning after hitting Vader with the ring bell.

Team Savage '87

Team Savage is from the 1987 Survivor Series, and consisted of Randy Savage, Jake Roberts, Ricky Steamboat, Brutus Beefcake, and Jim Duggan. They defeated "Team Honky Tonk Man '87," which consisted of HTM, Hercules, Danny Davis, Ron Bass, and Harley Race. Savage, Roberts, and Steamboat were the sole survivors at the first Survivor Series Team Match in history.

Do we really have to have this match? I hate seeing grown men crying from pain, and that's what would happen to Team Canada. Let's see: Savage-top of his game here. Roberts-Always has the wildcard of the DDT which takes out anyone. Steamboat-He's Steamboat. Duggan-Brawler with good power and toughness. Beefcake-Hadn't reached his highest level of sucking yet. Team Canada-Well they have an English guy that's good. This might as well be one on four. Furnas and LaFon are forgetable to be generous, and Neidhart was nothing without Bret. This is Savage in a destruction and likely a sweep.

Wow, one of the more lopsided matches on paper. Savage, Steamboat and Roberts on one team is a trio enough to take down most of the five member teams in this tournament. You just add Beefcake and Duggan in for the side show. Pretty much Neidhart was worthless at this point of his career, and Furnas and LaFon never did much stateside. The Bulldog was good, but not that good.

What it all comes down to is Neidhart and the Bulldog against Roberts, Savage, and Steamboat. Really? Yes, it is that bad.

I see this as a cakewalk for Savage. Neidhart falls to any of the three, leaving the Bulldog by himself. Savage could easily dispatch him alone, so I'm not even going to bother diving into detail. Everyone else is pretty much a non-factor, and that says something here.

Savage in record time.

I wouldn't say a squash but it would be pretty close. Team Savage and it's pretty much laughable. Neidhart is a great tag specialist, but he wasn't that good at this point, plus he wasn't teaming with anyone he knew outside of Bulldog. There is no weak link in Savage's team. Not even Brutus who can deliver some power.

Team Savage in a walk.

So I've come to the conclusion that Savage is going a long way in this thing. Hardly a thread goes by when I don't see his name on a team. And yet again he wins. Team Canada is a team full of jobbers. Bulldog & Anvil might have been getting a push at the time, but that's all down to Bret Hart and him almost single-handedly creating a great stable.

Team Savage '87 could go far with Roberst & Steamboat on board.
