To be honest, I figured Rock would win this in a landslide but he's only up by 5 votes. I guess AJ Styles' time in WWE really has upped his standing, otherwise I think this match would've been a blowout no matter how well Styles has wrestled elsewhere.
While I think Rock will still take the win, I voted for Styles due in part to simply enjoying watching Styles in the ring more and the Rock's off & on returns to WWE have soured me somewhat on the guy. I'm not one of these fans who's pissed at the Rock for having left WWE or any of that nonsense, I guess the Rock just happens to be lumped into the whole invasion of the part timers thin. Like Lesnar and Goldberg, but before them, the Rock parachuted back into WWE despite being gone for the better part of a decade, found himself right smack in the middle of the WrestleMania main event 2 years in a row, ate up oodles of TV time as part of promoting said matches, etc. I prefer listening to him talk more than watching him in the ring, though he's not bad between the ropes or anything like that. Even then, the guy kinda irks me as some of his promo stuff is exactly the same as I'd have been into 20 years ago. Maybe it's just because I've gotten older, but some of it's just plain juvenile.
Styles is outmatched by the Rock on the mic, though I do believe Styles could hold his own if he was granted the same privilege of cutting loose in his promos and going all out like the Rock. I haven't read over any other posts in this thread so I don't know if anyone's claimed Styles can't put the Rock in the Rock Bottom. If so, it's completely asinine as the Styles Clash is actually a more physically demanding move given that Styles has to temporarily hold a person's entire weight while he steps over the other guy's arms whereas the Rock Bottom is 95% of the guy jumping on his own rather than being lifted.
This'd be a really fun match and I can see both guys hitting the other's respective finishers maybe twice before someone scores the pin.
